Reliable, fun, big trunk and pretty comfy I had it lowered on h&r springs and it had alzor 628 with 225/40/18 firestone indy 500 tires. It handles great for a base sedan and the 5 cylinders was awesomen to lisen to it. For the price, it’s a great all around car.

I’m 18 and I really wanted a gti but my parents said no to the hatch and said if I really wanted one that I could get a Jetta instead because it’s got a trunk. Back in February I picked up a 2014 mk6 gli and have loved it ever since. Planning on ordering some wheels and tires soon but I’m gonna do it right and build it slowly to exactly what I want it to be
nice bro i got a 2016 gli 2 months ago and Ive only put in the intake so far. Enjoying the process of building it is what its about. Also getting some wheels pretty soon from these guys
Ignacio Villasenor haha same, I really like the f1r f29 wheels. I want them in +35 but they only come in +45 so I’m gonna go with a 245 on an 8.5 wide. Follow my Instagram @justagli for some updates and stuff I post most my mods/updates on there when I do them. I’d like to see your car as well and how far it’s coming if u do that kinda stuff
Look, all I’m saying is that I get the hate that the Jettas get but when I was looking for my first car I was intentionally looking for something different. Everyone around me already had STIs, Civics, etc. the usual stuff. I bought a GLI with the gen 3 TSI and I haven’t regretted it since. Modding is easy, with almost an entirely bolt on build you could easily be pushing around 500 wheel reliably on the factory block. Currently I’m pushing just under 400 and I’m having more than enough fun getting into trouble with it. It is a really good sleeper.
@@David_99778 I don’t know too much about the 1.2s, I do know people weren’t too happy about the 2.5s although I heard it’s a really good sounding engine, being a 5-cylinder it should sound pretty good. The 1.8Ts I hear are pretty solid. But yeah, the 2.0 TSIs, all you need to run a 500 hp on the factory block are better rods, and clutch. Obviously, you’ll also want to get an intake, intercooler, and whatnot but it don’t take much to get it up to 500, mostly bolt on stuff.

Jetta was my first bought car 2 years ago. Built it in one year, w/ a tune I’m pushing around 250 hp and 300 ish torque. Not super fast but just enough to have some fun w/ an exhaust and turbo noises 😍
@@ebogar42 I’m content with what I have. It feels fast for me. I’m just saying to some of the losers out there thinking I need a 600 hp car to have fun.
@@Thorlando I have a 2.5 jetta with the manual shift and it's fast enough for me to outrun cops on back roads. That's good enough for me. I think it's pretty fast, but I would like a small bump in HP. It's still fun though when I get it on certain roads where I can downshift to 3rd and 4th. Top speed is nothing I've ever cared about. Never going to be going to be going over 120 anywhere. Probably wouldn't even do that ever again either. too much risk.
The Mk 3 Jetta was the first car I decided to go heavy into modifying with. I definitely agree that they all have their little quirks, but it's still one the most fun cars I had the joy and liberty of playing around with. They're a platform you can't really go wrong with on any level, from mild to wild :-D
Had my 98 Jetta GLX VR 5spd from brand new, and stays in the garage. Tons of rare Parts, and no rust. That’s how they stay new. Even my 2003 GTI 20v from new gets the same treatment
I had a jetta mk3 vr6 and sold it. I Regret that to this day. Love the sound of it with the stock exhaust. Jetta mk6 is my next buy but I dont want the 1.4Tsi unfortunately for us we dont get the GLI 2.0tsi.
Got myself one a few days ago, spent 2 days tinkering around with it, lifted it and got myself a bush bar with nice large tires Making all Baja like. It's both my first car and first mod!
I loved my MK3 even though it had the 2.0. that car just wouldn't die. I replaced it with an 01 Golf 1.8t. that was a blast. Next up was the 02 Jetta GLX VR6. Still have it as a project car. Next up is the VW family car 13 Passat which is a great daily.
I've owned 2 mk2 Jetta GLIs and a mk3 GL. Always thought of my mk2s as a poor mans E30. Also the 2.0l 16v in the mk2 is an awesome motor that responds well to tuning. And one on throttle bodies... whoa mama!!! So sweet!
I had 2 MK3 VR6 JETTAS and I loved em. Just the sound of that damn engine is like no other. When WOT, I could get people on the bus stop to break their necks just to see what car was making those beautiful throaty noises. Now I have a Mk5 GTI ❤️
Mk2s have some cool trim levels that should have been mentioned! The gli and gtx had a 2.0 16v (which has a low end rumble similar to the vr6) and factory recaro seats. I currently have 2 mk2 jettas (1 being a gtx) so I might be a little biased tho.
I've heard this man make references to Childish Gambino, Naruto, Runescape, and League of Legends. All while talking about cars. i would like to buy him a beer.
Giorgetto Giurgiaro (Jorgetto Jujaro) was an Italian car designer, i think he retired cuz he was born in 1938. He has designed things like the first VW golf, the DMC DeLorean, the Lotus Esprit S1 (James Bond car) and a lot more beautifull cars. He worked at places like Aston Martin, Bugatti, Ferrari etc. He founded a company called Italdesign which is famous for having beautifull concept cars (exaple: Italdesign Zerouno)
Went through 2 Gen's of Jettas back in the day.... Mk3 (4cyl) and then the MKV w/VR6 in just under 10 years...when VW dropped the VR6...I was in awe..but had seen the writing on the wall years earlier so I wasn't really all that surprised!
Duuude, ruedas is the combo of tyres and wheels, wheels alone are “llantas”, but you are improving pretty damn quick ;). Greetings from Spain, keep doing banging videos!
Just got a 2016 Jetta GLI as an upgrade from my 2013 Elantra, my first "enthusiast" car, and my first manual. Can't even drive it because it had a chip in the wheel that was stopping the tires from sealing, but boy am I excited to actually be able to daily it when it's back
@@TeamSoullessGaming @lemonthumb As someone who until recently owned the Facelift '15 Sport trim with the 1.8 for just over 4 years, I'd like to add a little to this. I love the MK6 Facelift look, and honestly if they hadn't done the facelift, I probably wouldn't be here right now. However, a lot of the parts for the 1.8 in terms of exhaust and intakes are compatible with the more performance oriented 2.0. Having now just purchased a 2018 MK6 GLI, the pickings are still slim. EuroTuning has a few more exterior styling options for the GLI over the 1.8 given the different front and rear bumper designs. The 2.0 also opens the doors to more off-the-shelf tunes from companies like Unitronic, APR, and I think COBB just put one out too, BUT, its sad to see that even in the MK6 model year, aftermarket companies still favor the GTI by 10x. I do understand that from a business sense though - definitely more GTI's on the road than GLI's, but from my heavily biased POV, it'd be great to mod this car to my hearts content the same way an individual could with a standard GTI. With that being said, going back to the root of the conversation of VW's holding value, I don't think the Jetta's will hold much value, not even the GLI's. I think the Golf R's over the years will far exceed the collecting ability and desire than any modern Jetta on the road today.
Ha haaa, I was fortunate enough to get my sisters 2002 Jetta Wagon 2.0. A couple days ago for my first car since she got a new van and told me she’d give it to me, it sure is quick for me lol. I also really love how I can put the key in the door when I’m unlocking it and holding it you can roll all the windows down to your liking and vice versa while locking. She never knew that lol but she ain’t into cars like I am, honestly that Jetta has had more attention and maintenance in the past couple days than it has in years.
Bro, Come on now, Just get another one. I am blessed with 3. 😳 Love them damn cars! Heated seats, the turbo diesel, or the 5 cylinder gas, the 5 speed, the automatic with slapshift capability, salsa red, man, Just get another one. You know ya wanna. =)

Never going to be going to be going over 120 anywhere. Probably wouldn't even do that ever again either. too much risk.
I will wait until the end of time for the “So You Want A Del Sol” video I swear (‘:
Yessssss del sols are so smooth and look great when they're clean
Lmao! Keep the faith brother, in due time that which thou asketh shall be granted. 🙏🏾
Also titled: "So you want [to find] a CRX".
It's a fwd miata 😂😂
I'm glad you guys did the jetta. I've got a mk 3 2.0. Currently restoring it
The Mk 3 Jetta was the first car I decided to go heavy into modifying with. I definitely agree that they all have their little quirks, but it's still one the most fun cars I had the joy and liberty of playing around with. They're a platform you can't really go wrong with on any level, from mild to wild :-D
That fucking 02 sensor engine light bro, it’s a permanent addition to my instrument cluster ❤️
My car wasn’t getting done this year anyway but ima point fingers at the Rona for ruining it
I had a tuned mk4 and besides a coolant leak that really should've been looked at before the leak it was a perfect car
Mk7 GLI owner: just shut up and buy it. you won’t be disappointed.
Jetta mk6 is my next buy but I dont want the 1.4Tsi unfortunately for us we dont get the GLI 2.0tsi.
parnellap 1.8 with a tune in the mk6.5 is faster then a 2.0
jothamzubia my 2.0 is slow asf it might be cause its base
I drive a 2016 Jetta TSi model . My first project car 🤞🏽
I'm sitting eating A&W in my mk6.5 Jetta GLI. I've owned mk2, mk4, and this mk6.5 Love them all especially Mk4!❤
Very versatile car. Vr6 is amazing especially for $3k. I love the mk4
I've owned 2 mk2 Jetta GLIs and a mk3 GL. Always thought of my mk2s as a poor mans E30. Also the 2.0l 16v in the mk2 is an awesome motor that responds well to tuning. And one on throttle bodies... whoa mama!!! So sweet!
I love how you repeated yourself about 50 times in order to stretch out this video past the 10 minute sweet spot
I had 2 MK3 VR6 JETTAS and I loved em. Just the sound of that damn engine is like no other. When WOT, I could get people on the bus stop to break their necks just to see what car was making those beautiful throaty noises. Now I have a Mk5 GTI ❤️
I'm still waiting for "So you want an N54" or "So you want a e9x 3 series"
Zach Veldman yea they’ve done some whack cars an not a controversial borderline legendary engine
Yes, want that video too
Ive got a mk4 1.8t jetta with a spicy stage 2 tune with two step that absolutely slaps😩 and i love it
YESSSS FINALLY ITS OUT!!!!!!
I love Jettas. I owned a 98' K2 and a 97' VR6. Might buy another as a winter car.
Mk2s have some cool trim levels that should have been mentioned! The gli and gtx had a 2.0 16v (which has a low end rumble similar to the vr6) and factory recaro seats. I currently have 2 mk2 jettas (1 being a gtx) so I might be a little biased tho.
I had an mk3, mk5 and currently loving my mk6 TDI. Jetta FTW.
I love how you guys intro starts..
96 2.slow
15 TDI
17 GLI
Wife has had the 13 TDI and the 16 Passat. We are a all in VeeDub fam.
Every video is one video closer to "So You Want a VW Golf R/Audi S3"
I'm a Red Robin manager.. We do bottomless fries with a burger and carry Dr. Pepper.. Wife and I own a Jetta.. Hits real close to home 😆
Nahhh don't want one, I'm already on my 3rd 😂😂😂😂 that VW employee discount makes the difference
I laugh at the electrical and reliability jokes , but I haven't had one leave me on the roadside in almost 25yrs
@@MrTheHillfolk I'm on my 3rd and only change them because of the deals I can get, no problems except the ones I've caused
MK6 is the best jetta. Lowered with a nice set of wheels and tint all around easily makes the car look so much better
Where i live everyone went for the passat. Very few jettas around.
A Passat is just a fancy Jetta, no one can change my mind
MK3 will always be my favorite. Had a 98 Jetta and a 97 GTI VR6.. sold both.. biggest mistake ever. Hopefully I’ll find one soon enough.
I just bought a 2017 jetta a week ago too! I'm struggling to keep it stock lol

I've heard this man make references to Childish Gambino, Naruto, Runescape, and League of Legends. All while talking about cars. i would like to buy him a beer.
I've attained the secret sauce of being on time 😌
Is the secret never leaving?
Same here

Got a black 16 Jetta she’s been very good to me only has 16k miles and gets 40+ mpg
My homie drives a purple jetta, quite that car innit.
I’ve been waiting for this😂I love my mk5 😂😂
Can't even drive it because it had a chip in the wheel that was stopping the tires from sealing, but boy am I excited to actually be able to daily it when it's back
I'm thinking the mk6 facelifts might be more collectable in the future considering they only ran for a few years and have a the non mqb 1.8t in them.
lemon thumb we can’t do shit with the non mqb 1.8
I own a MK6 Jetta. 7 years and still going strong
Love your content. You always give excellent info. I would like to see you guys do a segment on the Volkswagen CC.
Of course this exists AFTER I’ve totaled my jetta :/
Bro,
Come on now,
Just get another one.
I am blessed with 3. 😳
Love them damn cars! Heated seats, the turbo diesel, or the 5 cylinder gas, the 5 speed, the automatic with slapshift capability, salsa red, man,
Just get another one. You know ya wanna. =)
I just picked up my 06 wagon! I'm loving it
the TSM part made me giggle
Finally I have a mk6 Jetta and I’ve been wanting them to make a vid in this for so long
