Clean ass MK4 man I want that vr6 engine or the 1.8t right now I have the 2.slow building it up maybe i'll just do a engine swap if I find a good 1.8t and transmission.
That Jetta mk_4 story was gold. I like hearing of this kind of connection in is this world that's being pulled apart. That Jetta is lookin super clean man nice job. Respect!
Bro, you being honest and upfront is why i love this build content. You’re killing it and keeping it real. As challenging as it is it really helps folks like me relate. I too have bough the wrong size of stuff or forgot something or broke something. I really love how the Jetta looks and all the effort you’re putting into it.
Looks great! Also love that you put in all the little failures or setbacks of getting different things together. I hate when dudes have videos and they talk about how easy it is and everything just works out perfect cause I know 9 times out of 10 they probably edited stuff like this out. It's nice to see it and get a better understanding for the work here
@@DakotaStone I feel like they do for everyone, that's what makes it a fun memory and makes videos like this nice and relatable versus the Mr perfection guy who totally never dropped one screw or socket during his whole install.
You will find that those headlights look awesome, but they suck at night. Not to mention the fact that they are Euro spec and road signs will not illuminate at night due to the tilt of the beam. It is actually kind of neat at first, but I felt that they were kinda dangerous for me, and forget about it if it rains. I ended up getting rid of them for a set of ANZA headlights which were much better.
I am loving this series so much man and very grateful for it. My rx8 was recently totaled and I got a 2017 manual honda fit after it and this series is giving me great ideas. Keep up the great content!
@DakotaStone Yeah man I'm okay! Those things are really solid for a little sports car and it tanked a jeep and I got out with minor scratches only! Appreciate the love and the fit is gonna be great!
I run those contis on my MKIV jetta. We go to Whistler BC every winter, and these tires had great performance in the deep snow up there. The only thing that stopped us was one day it snowed more than 8" in a few hours, and the car ended up high-centered with snow packed under the car - literally tires off the ground. Great video and thank you for the content you make.
I appreciate your comment! Love to hear other people enjoying the tires too. We finally just got some decent snow in Wisconsin with winter storm Averee coming through. The tires really impressed me. Glad I got them and would gladly run them again. Thanks for being here!

Love the wheels. I'm not typically a fan of black or gunmetal wheels on black cars but these look super clean. I think a 4motion front valance would look good on it.
This looks perfect as a daily, because for ordinary people it looks like a mom's jetta in decent condition, but car guys would appreciate a simple and tastefully done car when they see one.
I dig the wheel choice, also the tires. I had a set of extreme contacts on one set of wheels and some hankooks on another. Both all weather, continentals hands down were so much better, in all conditions. Jetta is coming around my dude, good work.
I went through that SAME EXACT process when I had my mk4 golf. My 3sdms wouldn't fit and I was so pissed! Glad you figured it out and enjoy your wheels my man.
On 18” you should go with 40 profile. About the running on strut in the front, I guess it’s because you have coil overs on. Normally ET35 is perfect in 8,5”

Amazing episode as always, would have loved to see some oem xenon headlights instead of the aftermarket ones, and i am not really a big fan of black wheels, but i am really happy that you are enjoying your mk4 💚🔥🔥
Hey bro, the MK4 Jetta is looking Great!!!👍👍👍 I used to own a 2001 VW Jetta GL in black forest green with black interior. It had the 2.0 automatic engine...(I know, it is a slushbox), but I was not going for performance, I just wanted my Jetta to look cool. Let me give you a little list of what I did to my Jetta. (mind you, it has been a while since I owned that car, so may not have exact info. on the parts fitment, size, etc., this is all from memory, plus I am an old fart😛😛😛). 1. KW coilovers (dropped 2" in front and 1 1/2 on the rear...went for the "raked" look) going over speed bumps, was a no go, always had to plan my routes.😁😁😁 2. I did have to use spacers (forget the size) was not for fitment, but to bring wheels more flush with the fenders. 3. 17X7.5 ADR wheels (forget the name of the rim, but it looked like the style of rims that go on a Ferrari) The tires, brain fart, sorry guys, can't remember the brand, but they wete a little pricey). 4. NEUSPEED cat back exhaust 5. NEUSPEED air filter with chrome shield. 6. NEAUSPEED chrome engine dress up kot. 7. NEU SPEED chrome upper engine brace (forget correct term) 8. NEUSPEED black front and rear strut braces. 9. HELLA upgraded headlights with fogs. 10. HELLA red/clear tails. 11. Euro front bumper (that was a job). 12. REIGER front lip. 13. Crystal clear fender blinker (forget the brand). 14. ABT front grille. 15. ABT rear spoiler 16. Billet aluminum stubby antenna (not really a big deal, but looked better than long stock antenna). 17. Debadged (did put on a BORA badge towards the end) She was a blast to build, but it took a lot of work and losing things and dropping things in all the cracks and crevices of the car, sometimes, I would have to take apart what I just did, so I can retrieve the screw or piece needed to hold the other part together. So, yeah, I feel you bro. I was not finished with my Jetta, but I had an unfortunate problem that arose, so I had to stop. The next thing I had planned, was changing the wheels, to a deep dish style wheels, I already had them in my living room with tires on. For those of you who know the "BROCKS" brand, you know what I am talking about, would have made the Jetta way more aggressive looking.👍👍👍 Can't wait to see your final outcome for your MK4 Jetta.❤️❤️❤️
Ayooo! I appreciate this comment and all the info so much! Love that color on them and I bet the KWs were fantastic. This build has made a lot of conversations with people and I’m forever thankful for that. Thanks for watching man!
its shame that the Trebles couldnt fit the Jetta, but at least the podiums fits the Jetta (with the spacers on as well). I'm personally not a fan of the black on black look, need to have some kind of contrast for me, but it does make the Jetta look consistent. I wonder if it might be a good idea to go back into the interior and replace the speakers and head unit of an almost 20 yr old car (if the previous owner hasnt done so already)
I was curious to see how the three spokes would look.. I feel ya on the look! It honestly has grown on me though and I’m happy. However, I change wheels and wheel color like underwear so who knows! 😅
No doubt about the sound system upgrades. I got an rcn-210 with a set of infinity Primus speakers from crutchfield and imo it rocked the Haus better then the monsoon in dad's old 03. Notice I said rocked ,and not rocks. Cold weather came , the radio would cut out when turned up past half. You could work thru it sometimes , but it got a little colder and won't turn on at all. For 130$ it's not a huge loss ,but I woulda liked it to last a little longer. Might go with that rmt-100 next. I've heard the rcn-210 can be hit or miss, most complaints I read were non functional buttons over time.
I have an ‘04 GTI vr6 and was driving along the other day and I saw a silver McLaren 720S come up fast behind me but it stayed behind me for miles until we got to a light and he finally went into left lane and told me how much he loved it and how great the VR6 sounded, which is why he stayed behind me lol. Dude had a $350k car and was going fanboy on my $7k VW 😂 We r all car guys
Holy COW! That thing looks insane with those wheels! That black and grey combo looks so clean. I think next the car deserves a little bit of Apple Car play...?
Glad you like it man! I’m torn between a new radio with apple car play, or keep vibing with my tapes and cds.. I have a small collection of tapes I keep in the car lol
@@DakotaStone we appreciate you l and can’t wait to see what you and the boys cook up here in the future! Maybe I’ll find a way to come see it in person with the off season and make more events outside of track days! You’re the man!
Dakota you can fit the same tires even better on an 8 wide and not an 8.5, they get meatier fitment but the sidewall ends up being perfectly straight with the rest of the wheel, i ran 17x8 on my Jetta, and GTI before with 225/45/17 and it was the best tire to wheel fitment ive ever seen, and the fitment to the fenders was perfect too, zero rubbing of any kind as well, should be pretty similar with an 18 but you can always throw the sizes in a tire size calculator to see where your overhangs are, i use the tacomaworld one
also the 17 inch wheel is the sweetspot for the MK4 platform in terms of all aspects of fitment, for rubbing and keeping an accurate speedo as well, my stock size was 205/55/16 and the diameter increase with the 225/45/17 was 0.4% larger, with a 225/45/18 the difference is 4.4% larger diameter, you probably rubbed on the top of the tire and not the side, little close for comfort
Thanks bro for the video . Those look dope. 💯 I recently bought a 2009 Passat wagon and really want to pimp it out. #DailyDriver. And you’re right, it’s definitely hard finding rims for it that actually fit./look good . Definitely following you.🤘🏾💯
"If im going to break something im going to be so pissed" after owning 3 mk4 jettas doing the grill and bumper its almost 💯 your going to break something 😂
Yes totally make that snow blower vid I wanna see it lol 😂 dude if u wud get like a noice 6-7” tinted brow on the windshield that thing wud look sick 🤙
Heck yeah bro looks good .. and if all else fails you can run some 2" spacers and go mexipoke as they call it lol 😅 ... just pulling ya chain bro .. looks good and I have ran the dws 06 b4 and they were great and stoopid grippy once get some heat in them 🤘🏼.. peace and love bro keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z fam
Super bad ass jetta. ? Can you give me information on how I can get a set of headlights. I have a 05 vw jetta gli mk4 I'm fixing it up. Thanks. Victor Piedras negras coah Mexico
These wheels look like the TWS Imola rims... the current wheels you have on are Santa Monica's we would normally put 165/35/17 tyres on.... yes 165 lol... Car scenes are somehow different
i had a mk4 golf gti with a jetta front end that had 234 40 18s on then idk the wheel specs other then it was a 18 inch wheel but fitment was PERFECT they where tsw sebrings black with nitto nt555 g2s weird tire name but man all i needed was some coiles and it would of been looked AWSOME
As a GTI fan and owner this video is so relatable its not funny. I'm not saying the video isn't funny I'm saying...You know what I'm saying 😫Anyone who has worked on cars, amateurs and professionals alike know about that project that will take "like fifteen minutes" and consumes your whole day. In fact, you can count yourself lucky if is just ONE DAY that gets eaten up.💀 Excellent choice of wheels. Ride is looking SHARP 🔪
Hahaha thank you so much! I’ve spent a lot of time making these videos because of the project car syndrome. It’s rewarding when done but the process.. man haha.
I want to get these headlights. I currently have a euro switch - I'm curious to know if you're running stock switch or euro and if the projectors work as day time running lights or if it's the secondary light? Great video by the way.
I hate wheel locks with a passion. I had a set on my S13 many years ago, and for some reason the wheel locks used to get tighter as you drove... long story short, when trying to remove one of them, the "key" portion stripped out of the socket because the lock nut was on so tight... and I couldn't get my wheels off. I was young and didn't really have much in the way of tools back then so had to take it to a shop so they could get the stupid things off. My hate is probably unfair as I'm sure there's locks with a better key design than the OEM ones I had from NIssan back in the 90's, but what a pain in the ass it was.
Ayyy let’s go! It does currently have a tune and exhaust from the previous owner. I’d like to pick up an intake soon! Would love to turbocharge it, but it’s getting old and that’s just a money pit haha
Standard tire size on the jetta is a 205/55/16 which would equate to a 225/40 on an 18". I'm wondering if you went for an oversized tire (225/45) on purpose? The car looks cool but kinda bulky at the same time
Just was having so much trouble with fitment I went with what I saw another person ran in a rush. Honestly like I said in the vid, I would size down on my next set of tires! But for now we will run the meaty daily set up 💪🏻
hello, I also have these depot replica headlights and I have a problem with them, except for the low beam, the one with the magnifying glass does not look good at all, even if I adjusted them in the service, I have halogen h7? what can you recommend to make it visible, the long beam can be seen bn
First question is, why would you change the original wheels on a mk4 Jetta VR6, especially if its a GLI like mine? You don't swap those brother. They're perfect just the way they came from the factory. Maybe a body kit and widen her out but keep the stock wheels. They're fantastic
@@DakotaStone VW has a reputation for producing or selling badass stock wheels for decades now. Guys like you make these cars looks awkward when you put silly wheels on them. They’re timeless cars & dating them with these modern trendy wheels looks whack. That’s my opinion. They look better with the more well thought-out 5spoke timeless wheel setup. The body is timeless, why date the wheels? Exactly. Hidden upgrades are one thing, even wide body’s don’t date the car, only add to the timeless design with using the fender flares. These 10,000 spoke wheels are whack. Only one set of mk4 wheels looked good with the tons of spokes & VW sold them stock. All these aftermarket ones make the car look like it’s trying to be too modern. Idgaf what you think brother, that’s why I wrote my comment. I think your opinion is whack lol All in good fun though, no hard feelings
Hey Dakota, I own and operate a mk4 Jetta Facebook group we have grown to 9.2k following in 11 months I would love to see if you would like to upload your content to the page to help the community as well as your channel growth.
The set up I have in here I think can be ran without a spacer with a smaller sidewall tire! If you shoot us a message at www.martiniworks.com we can give you some options!

4. NEUSPEED cat back exhaust
5. NEUSPEED air filter with chrome shield.
6. NEAUSPEED chrome engine dress up kot.
7. NEU SPEED chrome upper engine brace (forget correct term)
8. NEUSPEED black front and rear strut braces.
9. HELLA upgraded headlights with fogs.
10. HELLA red/clear tails.
11. Euro front bumper (that was a job).
12. REIGER front lip.
13. Crystal clear fender blinker (forget the brand).
14. ABT front grille.
15. ABT rear spoiler
16. Billet aluminum stubby antenna (not really a big deal, but looked better than long stock antenna).
17. Debadged (did put on a BORA badge towards the end)
She was a blast to build, but it took a lot of work and losing things and dropping things in all the cracks and crevices of the car, sometimes, I would have to take apart what I just did, so I can retrieve the screw or piece needed to hold the other part together. So, yeah, I feel you bro.
I was not finished with my Jetta, but I had an unfortunate problem that arose, so I had to stop. The next thing I had planned, was changing the wheels, to a deep dish style wheels, I already had them in my living room with tires on. For those of you who know the "BROCKS" brand, you know what I am talking about, would have made the Jetta way more aggressive looking.👍👍👍
Can't wait to see your final outcome for your MK4 Jetta.❤️❤️❤️
Ayooo! I appreciate this comment and all the info so much! Love that color on them and I bet the KWs were fantastic. This build has made a lot of conversations with people and I’m forever thankful for that. Thanks for watching man!
Gud daily keeps getting more gud.
its shame that the Trebles couldnt fit the Jetta, but at least the podiums fits the Jetta (with the spacers on as well).
@2:50 and this is why the car community can be great
💯 This comment is why you’re great
I have an ‘04 GTI vr6 and was driving along the other day and I saw a silver McLaren 720S come up fast behind me but it stayed behind me for miles until we got to a light and he finally went into left lane and told me how much he loved it and how great the VR6 sounded, which is why he stayed behind me lol. Dude had a $350k car and was going fanboy on my $7k VW 😂 We r all car guys
Love this build series so much reminds me of how I'm modifying my ion
Glad you’re liking it!
Great video..when this series started my jetta was sitting on bricks now its almost ready .....just some timing issues and its sorted💪
HELL YES! Way to make some serious progress man! Awesome to hear
Fifteen52 is such a good brand
They really are. Love what they’ve done/continue to do!
These wheels are heat!
😤 appreciate you!
@@DakotaStone we appreciate you l and can’t wait to see what you and the boys cook up here in the future! Maybe I’ll find a way to come see it in person with the off season and make more events outside of track days! You’re the man!
The fall leaves falling so angelically are paid actors.

Roof racks would go hard
I really want to do a roof rack setup. These comments are killing me every time I see it haha. I’m gonna do it!
Thanks bro for the video . Those look dope. 💯 I recently bought a 2009 Passat wagon and really want to pimp it out. #DailyDriver. And you’re right, it’s definitely hard finding rims for it that actually fit./look good . Definitely following you.🤘🏾💯
I'am in ohio and just order a bunch of stuff for my 3.2 A3, exhaust, shocks/strut, lowering springs and some interior pieces, love ecs.
Love to hear it man!! Giving that A3 some love! ❤️
"If im going to break something im going to be so pissed" after owning 3 mk4 jettas doing the grill and bumper its almost 💯 your going to break something 😂
I knew for sure it was going to happen. Definitely foreshadowing lmao
Yes totally make that snow blower vid I wanna see it lol 😂 dude if u wud get like a noice 6-7” tinted brow on the windshield that thing wud look sick 🤙
when's the next videeooooo
Gotta love the one true world known language. Cars
Si!
I like your trunk man!!
Hahaha thanks brotha!
Super bad ass jetta. ? Can you give me information on how I can get a set of headlights. I have a 05 vw jetta gli mk4 I'm fixing it up. Thanks. Victor Piedras negras coah Mexico
Glad you like it man! Here is the set of headlights I got: bit.ly/47jKh5s
Thanks for watching!
Yo sick build! I was wondering what exhaust you had on the car? I’m trying to pick one out for my Jetta but I can’t decide but yours sounds amazing!
These wheels look like the TWS Imola rims... the current wheels you have on are Santa Monica's we would normally put 165/35/17 tyres on.... yes 165 lol... Car scenes are somehow different
Where’s the mk4 now? I see you got a turbo golf
i had a mk4 golf gti with a jetta front end that had 234 40 18s on then idk the wheel specs other then it was a 18 inch wheel but fitment was PERFECT they where tsw sebrings black with nitto nt555 g2s weird tire name but man all i needed was some coiles and it would of been looked AWSOME
It’s rewarding when done but the process.. man haha.
Love the video and repping ECS! Did you partner with Kasey?
I did talk to Kasey!
@@DakotaStone that's awesome! He's been doing such a good job since he came to ECS! I'm glad he's been making sure you're taken care of!
Let go!! Another episode!!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
A horror story for the ages 😅😅
What size tires you go with?
Off topic, but I’m digging that retro gaming corner. New headlights make all the difference, did they hold up over big bumps?
Hahaha! Im a nerd for retro games. They did! I’ve had zero issues since filming with the headlights. Work perfect!
Me too bro! Good, I’m glad they held up
The last time those were tightened was Germany looool
Realistically probably Mexico but whatever 😂❤️
Nice I also own a 24valve vr6 Jetta any plans to motor? Or tune? Nice video!
Ayyy let’s go! It does currently have a tune and exhaust from the previous owner. I’d like to pick up an intake soon! Would love to turbocharge it, but it’s getting old and that’s just a money pit haha
@@DakotaStone what tune? Have been looking for a good tune for mine just got it in March with 135k also
Spray those wheels hyper silver!! Love the wheels tho!!
lol I did the same thing with my wheel lock key so that made me feel not alone 😂
Glad we’re in this together 😅🤝
I recognize High Cliff State Park when I see it :D
👀 👀 👀
Ayo Them Wheels Tho!🥵 Thank God For Getting New Headlights! Haha 😅
It was much needed. Thanks for watching and commenting as always my man!

Sometimes I miss my mk4 vr6 Jetta. But sometimes I don’t lol
I think this is the perfect way to sum up Volkswagen ownership. Especially mk4s
So so clean❤
🫶
Nice Halo reference 😅

@@kegankelly3073 ya, gonna have to disagree completely bud
Yooo! That’s awesome man! What’s the name of the page? I’ll check it out
what did you do with the santa monica rims?
why spacers and not a 5mm different back spacing?
GUD DAILY
Hey man I’m looking to get new rims and tires for my mk4 Jetta what would you prefer to use without spacers?
The set up I have in here I think can be ran without a spacer with a smaller sidewall tire! If you shoot us a message at www.martiniworks.com we can give you some options!
@@DakotaStone thanks I appreciate it! You should keep making the mk4 videos I love to watch them to see what I’m able to do to my car
what size are the trebles?
18x9.5
Same wheel I was gonna get for my focus ST, but went with the sparco’s because I’m a cheap ass.
I mean.. they are 35% off now! 😅
