Because I needed to paint and start art journaling again....

- I recorded this video as I really wanted to paint, relax, and get back into the swing of things with videoing... And find new inspiration in the moment, in hopes my viewers may also find relaxation or inspiration with my video in a small way.
I pull a card from my oracle deck ("Art Poetry" card deck), and talk about the card and art and words and how it inspires me. I talk about art journaling and showed a few mixed media journals that I've started ,and completed and we do a few activities together by pulling a colour palette from a fashion magazine page, for new insights.

Watercolours:
Beam Paints: Canadian family owned company: www.beampaints...
Stoneground Paint Co: SK company, I use their watercolours and gouache.
Mozart watercolours
Ocean Paper: "Around the World" large white palette, and other discontinued palettes from Kauai: Customer service can be challenging as they move their studio from Kauai to another Island. (I waited 3 mos to get my paints). But I like their quality of paint.
Watercolour brush : Any round brush is what I use. I tend to like larger round Princeton brushes in size 12.
Art Journals: I recommend Canson XL or any 140lb cold press watercolour paper in your budget. 90 lbs is good too.
Neo colour Caran d'ache wax crayons
Neo colour Caran d'ache oil pastels
Any watersoluble pencils and crayons will do.
Fashion book reference: "Illustration Now Fashion", Taschen ,page 91, "USAville, 2007, personal work in ink and digital (colour palette reference).
I used to be plagued by cracked skin until I stopped consuming gluten. I hope you find what is causing it for you. Merry Christmas and a joyful art new year. Diane x
how interesting, as I have a severe gluten sensitivity…. I avoid it whenever I can. thanks for your insights., and Merry Christmas to you and yours too, Diane.
@@allisondawrant thanks Allison, Merry Christmas to you and your family also. Maybe you could try (after Xmas!) eliminating gluten totally for a while. It might just work. I stopped eating gluten myself because of colic, palpitations, panic attacks and other unpleasant symptoms and realised suddenly that the cracked fingers were not happening any more!! I used to go to bed with cotton gloves and layers of thick cream but nothing worked. I’ve never heard anyone link gluten with dryness but I’m sure it worked for me!! Hugs xxx
i enjoy your videos ,your heart is beautiful ,merry christmas from everett washington
After the busyness of Christmas and being away for a couple of weeks I am so excited to start binging on the videos you have posted in the past 3 weeks!! 🎉 As always there is so much inspiration. I love your beautiful mini paintings and appreciate seeing how you added the mini painting into the art journal. 💗
Yay! Thank you!
I'm always inspired by your work and love your videos because you just talk.
Wow, thank you. I appreciate your comments and watching.
You inspire me. I painted along with you. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
Great video! I am excited, I just bought your Art Poetry card deck! 🥰
Wow! I already received it! It is amazing and the quality it wonderful!!! Thank you. 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and doing your video's, they are so inspiring. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thanks for your encouragement. Merry Christmas and Happy Creative 2024 to you!
Allison, so glad to see you!! Love the randomness. Learn lots that way. Hope to see you again soon. If I don't, I'll go into Allison withdrawal!!
hahaha. so funny. thankyou for saying that.
I like the way how you use a picture for inspiration colors. All my water color paintings are landscape so recently I started doing some abstract water color paintings and it is very relaxing.
Oh, I can't wait to see your latest creations. You are so versatile, and I really love your style(s). Thanks for watching:) xx
so proud of you!! took notes...invested in a handfuil of journals with different surfaces...joy is the operative isnt it? ty for the reminder to map the reels ii often find overwhelming & start w/color craving exercises, editting old(er) pieces narrowing down a reel to a few elements. happy painting!!
thanks for sticking with me. I appreciate your insights.
Awesome video! Thanks so much!
My pleasure!
I find your videos very freeing to my own play. Thanks 🙏
that's awesome! So happy to hear that.
A multivitamin might be worth considering for your sore skin, worked for me.
thanks for sharing! good reminder!
Really like your style, I know this isn’t something your normally do but would you consider doing a review and swatch of ocean paper watercolors palette as I’m considering it but in Australia it’s over $700 and there’s nothing online really about them
Yes, I'll swatch the colours out this evening (Dec 27) and will do a video within the next month at latest. Feel free to reach out by email too at addawrant@gmail.com . Thanks Jess
Do a lot of research before purchasing. I just read a comment on another video from someone who ordered and never received their order, and was just about to contact their bank. It was for over $200 worth of paint products.
They said that comments were shut off on social media, and that they didn’t respond to phone calls or email communications.
@@intuitiveinspiredart4366 that’s really poor I hear the excuse been thrown around that they were or are moving islands, but I had communication trouble well before that, and if they’re going to charge the priceless they do then I expect exceptional customer service. And isn’t it just obvious if your too busy, need or take a break/holiday or your moving just close the store for a bit. That has to be a way better option than getting the bad reputation they’ve gotten currently. Or they could do limited drops, then they’d only take on what they could handle
I just ordered a bunch of Stoneground Paint Co paint from THE PAINT SPOT. The exchange is very good for US customers right now, and if you sign up for their newsletter/website you get 20% off your first order. I took advantage of both of these things BIG TIME.
Try O'Keefe's working hands!
Ok:) thanks
I believe certain vitamin deficiencies can contribute to skin dryness. I’m pretty sure omega-3 it’s supposed to help. I have struggled with cracked hands in the past. I recommend the O’Keefes working hands as well. There are other ones that are great too. But I do think O’Keefes is excellent. Drinking lots of waterAnd making sure you’re hydrated definitely makes a difference. I read somewhere that like chapped lips is really just a sign of dehydration.
I would love to purchase art poetry can I do it through Amazon
I sell them on my website and will be restocking for Sept 2024, as I'm currently sold out. thanks for your interest.
