Oh! Allison, Everytime you use your Dad’s beautiful wood container for the Kuretake paints I swoon! I wish he would make these for sale to the coveting artists watching you! ❤
Hi Allison. I discovered your channel recently and am enjoying watching your videos. I love your intuitive painting and your soothing voice. Thank you for showing the Uppercase magazine. Living in Australia, I had not heard of it. I will definitely be looking at their website and ordering some magazines. Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much! Yes, @uppercase is such an inspiring and creative publication, and they have a wonderful online community for subscribers. Sending creative vibes to Australia!
Good evening, Alison. Loving the joy you feel when explaining various pieces of your artwork. It's quite inspiring. Just going with your feelings, and not thinking too much about it. Your colours are gorgeous! Thank you so much! I truly appreciate your listing of materials you have used. 😘❤️
Good evening from the UK 👋 I was so excited to see you posted a new video as I really wanted to let you know that my husband ordered your oracle deck for my birthday (finally 😊) and we received the package in super fast time yesterday. I'm not allowed to open it until the end of May, but my husband reports all in good order. I can't wait. Thank you so much 💓
Wow your recent work is beautiful Allison! The landscape paintings you showed and the acrylic ones on paper are amazing even if you won’t add anything to them. I can’t put my finger on it what makes especially your watercolor work so special beside the shapes, colors and how you combine them. Maybe it’s how you apply the paint to the paper, the amount of water you use. I don’t know but I love how the paint looks when its dry in your journals and paintings. I also only try to use vegan and eco-friendly art supplies. I was surprised when I discovered that watercolor paper isn’t vegan most of the time. I recently ordered 100% cotton watercolor paper from the Italian brand Fabriano, Artistico traditional white. It’s actually vegan friendly paper. I was also curious about the Viviva watercolor paint. It’s eco-friendly and the cork palette is biodegradable. The paint in the palettes should also be lightfast. To my surprise the colors are very pigmented, you don’t need a lot of paint. I have the spring and the metalic palette. I’m no professional watercolor artist, but I was pleasantly surprised and they are very affordable. Your videos are so welcome, but I hope your put yourself first and that despite these busy times you’re able to find some moments of calmness and joy with your family and creativity.
Beautiful landscapes Allison ! And WOW lots of happiness happening in your life right now , and that is so awesome ! Moving your art into a studio will be so inspiring for you ! Looking forward to see a video of your new space ❤ congratulations my dear , I’m so happy for you. ❤
Bonjour from Gatineau, Québec! I really love your videos and artwork. I’m always so happy when you have a new video up. Congratulations on your new art studio! Hope we get a tour when it’s finished. Thanks for sharing your passions, Allison… À bientôt 😘
I find your landscape art very interesting. I haven’t tried anything like that. A great job as always. I am looking forward to see your mark making on them. Thank you!
Hei Alison. I love your videos. You talk about art classes, could you maybe do a video about that? I would love to do some art classes, but I don't find any that look interesesting. And when you mention the art classes that you take, they sound very good 😂
I have those same watercolor journal books, the ones you say are from “speed ball” the light grey linen type of covers. I bought one for myself and my 6 year old to watercolor in. It’s a lovely watercolor journal. Beautiful paintings. Congratulations on your new art studio. Would love a tour of it when you’re settled in, if you do those type of videos. I love watching and seeing how other artists create a space the love that inspires them.
Yes- I’ll be showing my new studio . Thanks for writing. That’s nice you purchased a journal for your 6 year old. I love painting with mine(my journal and my preschooler)
@@allisondawrant oh wonderful. I look forward to the video. Yes, we love to do our daily devotional to the Lord to start our day every morning. Worshiping, praising and giving thanks, some times he chooses to dance. Other times we read the Bible together and then he will draw and paint what Holy Spirit leads him to do. He will paint the stories in the Bible he just read about. Or he will craft and create something the Lord puts on his heart. I started letting him watercolor when he was 3 years old. But at two years old I would get him those watercolor books that you literally just paint the water on and the ink comes to life and activates the color. Do you recall those? I loved those as a kid, you don’t see much of them anymore. I still love them even as an adult, truthfully. lol🤭 I found a handful of them at dollar tree one day. I grabbed the three different book styles options they offered. I haven’t seen them since, which is a shame.
Allison, I was so excited to see a glimpse of your abstract landscapes on IG and thrilled to see even more in this video! They are gorgeous! I am very curious to see how you do your mark making on them so I hope you will have time to film that at some point. I am always so amazed by the diversity of your styles and yet each style has your unique fingerprint. 💗 You are always inspiring and I appreciate hearing your encouragement to let go of self-judgement when creating. I have been struggling with that big time along with lack of time and energy to paint. Your reminders to "play" have been helpful and I am trying to embrace that. Congratulations on your new art studio. That is great you will have more space for creating! And for 10,000 subscribers! And for an abundance of orders and the need for an assistant. None of this is a surprise. Your artwork is amazing and your video channel very inspiring. 💗
I have just discovered your channel. So intrigued with your style. I am completely new to watercolour and am going to try it. Thanks for the inspiration!
Your video just showed up in my suggested videos and your gorgeous spontaneous landscape really caught my eye! Would you be willing to share what colours you have in the palette in top left portion of the video near the beginning?
In the thumbnail photo, top left, most of those paint pans are Japanese Kuretake “art nouveau” set. They are beautiful and are more opaque like gouache compared to watercolour.
Hi Allison I love your work I am going to be teaching some outdoor art classes for kids this summer and I like to sometimes pick present time artists to give as example, inspiration, and technique tell a history and where to find the artist do you have some where I can connect to get a bio and statement/ history

Do you not worry when using opera pink in works that you sell that it will fade?
Great question. I plan to discuss that in an upcoming video. Stay tuned,.
I've heard about spraying something on your finished work... wondering if that is meant prevent fading 🤔
Where to get the wood box for kuretake paint?
My Dad made it for me. Thanks Ann
