I just stumbled across this video and I am in complete awe! I have never seen anything like this before and it is so, so beautiful! I don't know if you design your own materials but I have never seen anything so gorgeous! I am a vendor ( although not on your level) and I know how unpredictable customers can be. At this time in the year, there are a lot of people that just come for ideas, not necessarily to buy. And Halloween is so eye catching. It may seem like those vendors get more sales. But what I have learned over the years is that you are not at fault if your products don't sell. Your wares are amazing! I find that even if you lower your prices, people won't buy if they don't want to that day. I have always gotten loads of compliments on my things but the sales are not always great as I had hoped. On the other hand, some people have actually ordered things after my show and boosted my sales and my morale. No matter what, a person who crafts like we do has it in the blood! We must be making things all the time. What's wrong with that? Sometimes I even give away more than I sell and it gives me a special great joy to be able to put a smile on someone's face. I primarily make Christmas things so my best sales are later in the year. But as I tell myself, my products do not have an expiration date. If I don't sell at a show, I keep them for the next one and nothing is lost. I don't think we ever get our money back on most things, but the joy of creating is sometimes a reward in itself! I wish you the best of luck on future shows and I hope you keep putting out such great beauty in the world!

Thank you so much for your kind words! You completely understand the ups and downs of being a vendor. I agree-it’s all about the love of creating, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else! Your insights are spot on, and it’s true that sometimes people are just browsing, but the joy of crafting is what keeps us going. Best of luck with your own shows, and thank you again for the support! 😊

I adore them as well because you can just tie it onto a gift you don’t even have to give a card and just sign the back but maybe this weekend I’ll be lucky and get those sold. Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate the more than you know and I hope you have a beautiful week. See you in the next video.❤

I had a booth last year in our small town. I haven’t lived here long and so I don’t know many people. I had paper crafting items. Like you, my items made great gifts for people like coworkers, teachers, friends, etc. I sold almost nothing! I had things as low as 50 cents and still couldn’t sell them. The show was at the beginning of November so thought these items would be perfect for Christmas gifts. One thing I did notice was people would walk up to the booth beside me and talk to friends or the lady who ran the booth. Then they would start to come to my booth but would look up at me and you could see on their face the expression of “I don’t know you.”. Then they would literally turn and walk to the booth across the aisle and shop and then they would cut back across the aisle and go to the booth on the other side of me. I watched this happen all day long. I was at a total loss of what to think. I did not even make enough to cover my booth rental. I came home so discouraged and all my product with me. I am going to try a different craft fair this year, out of town, and I’ve only got one product I’m selling. It’s still paper crafting and I am scared to death to try again but I love doing what I do. 😏

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry that happened to you. No one deserves that. I’m working on a video as we speak to help crafters that do craft shows some helpful tips to do and some things to avoid when participating in craft show. I hope it can help you.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
      Have a wonderful day.

Hi Linda, the items you showed in this video are quite lovely!!
August is a difficult time for parents who pay tuition and school fees, buy school supplies(even Kleenex boxes), new clothes for their kids and sports fees and equipment.
I think gift buying would take place in late October through the first half of December. I know this is when I am thinking about finding gifts.
Best of luck, you have beautiful items!

Hello there thank you so much for stopping by. I so appreciate your beautiful kind words. They inspire me more than you know and you’re probably right. I have like nine more shows to do starting this weekend and go through the middle of December so I’m sure I’ll sell my stuff. I’m excited you have a great week and see you in the next video.❤

Your items are beautiful, I know it is most annoying when things don't sell. When my husband was still alive I used to have a stall every month and had knitted toys and greeting cards. I never made very much except at the Three Peaks Yacht Race which started in Beauty Point, Tasmania, I sols around $150. After he died I only had 2 stalls a year at the local church. One of the toys was a sailor and a little boy had been watching it from time to time. He came over at long last and asked how much it was, I asked him how much he had and sold it to him. Quite often I would spend more than I made but that didn't matter. Some of my toys have gone to South Africa, Germany and Ireland. At the moment my puppy is trying to remove my hearing aid. You should do very well if you have a Christmas stall. Your items will make beautiful gifts. Ruth down under.

Hi Linda, Your items are beautiful. I also do craft shows and have found that people are not buying cards, tags etc. So I have stopped making them. I don't understand it but I find that my other items sell more. I think that people are going in for certain gifts and that it doesn't matter how beautiful or how it is priced if they don't want it. I have found that my winter / Holiday shows I do better. People are looking for presents to give. Hugs and blessings.

You have a great attitude about the slow shows. It's discouraging but the 3 upcoming holidays will certainly effect that for your and the other vendors benefit. I just came across your channel and you have created some beautiful items. I understand about the timing of craft shows and how it can affect sales. I was a vendor last year for an organization and I did very well. However, it was just before Mother's Day so people were looking for gifts. This year I was a vendor for the same organization but it was 4th of July weekend and I made some sells but nowhere near the previous year. It was a lesson learned. I noticed that the guests were more interested in the food and free entertainment. I won't do that again. I hope you do better in your upcoming shows. I'm a new subbie. By the way, Linda is a beautiful name. 😉

All craft fairs are feast or famine. I am retired and do my papercrafting for the enjoyment of it. My goal is to recover my booth fee and have enough left to buy supplies so I can keep creating. My crafting journey helped me get through my cancer diagnosis and treatment. I have a different perspective because I am not dependent on the money I make at the craft shows. I have always felt that I make my items because I LOVE to create them. Anytime I get positive feedback (even if the person doesn't purchase) I consider it a win. Of course, I would love to sell lots, but it doesn't always happen. Did you enjoy making your items? Did you enjoy interacting with the people at the show? Did you recover your booth fee and for some of your materials? I also try to look on the positive side of things...recently I did a craft show where I normally do well, but this time I did not sell even one item. (a first ever for me). Disappointing, definitely. But I couldn't change it so instead looked at the positive aspect that I had everything I needed already made for the next show. The closer we get to the holidays, the better the shows get in my area of Ohio. Hugs, keep creating, and it WILL get better for you.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey and perspective. Your approach to crafting and the way you find joy in the process is truly inspiring. I did enjoy making my items and interacting with people at the show, and while it didn’t go as well as hoped, I’m looking at it as a learning experience and a chance to improve for the next one. Your positive outlook is really encouraging, and I’m hopeful that things will pick up as the holidays approach. Hugs and best wishes to you as well!
