Those transitions are something to behold. I learned a lot how to engage luna watching this. I guess better angles and a tighter flow will get you the sub 5. Punishing draw FTW!!!
This is a punishing draw build, it has to have an good elemental component. Luna's raw hit zone values are not that good as well. Her moveset is also susceptible to a regular ISS cycle so this build, with the flow he devised is designed to end Luna as quick as possible.

Welp, it is technically trash, except some specific monsters that have particularly high elemental weaknesses or particularly good elemental hitzones. Its main DPS tool and burst tool are both heavily reliant on raw to do damage, elemental scalings are pretty much useless.
Could I get an explanation why you slap the monster three times and then jump off/do an attack at the start? I’m still kinda new and don’t really understand the reason. Appreciate the help
Iai Spirit Slash is the most inconsistent trash anytime I'm playing LS, but then this guy can do it while the monster is standing upright and like 10 feet away and still gets the hitboxes to connect lol. Hopefully Helm Break and Iai Spirit Slash are like 10x more reliable and consistent in MHR.
SynysterDawn if you cannot connect your ISS its partly the game but mostly because of you. Its all about positioning and due to the two attacks coming out of ISS having weird angles its better to position yourself sideways with the sheath attack for it to connect instead of head on before performing the ISS. A great exapmle is ruiner nergs rage roar dive bomb. With a spesific angle your ISS hits connect, you dont take damage and you can combine it with the helmbreaker or what not. However if I your positioning is off you wont lose your red gauge but you will be blasted in the ground, take damage and stat there helplessy to get back up on your ass.
@@LizdardKing86 Yeah so the move is bad because the hitboxes are terrible and pancakes mostly invalidate it for no good reason, got it. Like seriously if the parameters are that specific for the move to have even a modicum of consistency, and then even when all the perfect conditions are met the move can still just fail because ??? then it's hardly player error in most situations. Peppo even has a video in which he's testing on the training barrel bombs and despite his timing and everything being correct, he still gets knocked out of the animation for no apparent reason. Move's just trash.

I noticed that when you landed helmbreaker on her tenderized head it did 143 damage but when you landed it on a non tenderized wing it still did more damage than hitting the tenderized head with 149 damage per tick. Despite that though, many times when she was down you targeted her head with the helmbreaker and not the wings. Is there a reason for that? And finally why quick sheath? I thought it shortened sheathing time by only like a small fraction of a second at lvl 3 which I wouldn't think to be worth the investment.
She is very weak to ıce thats why the ıce CB shreds her, I am assuming the same applies for other weapons aswell, even for LS, maybe the element causes more flinches. Her hitzone for sever weapons is higher for the wings thats why she is trash, but since he is using a punishing draw set I am assuming prefering to hit the head with the helmbreaker is for the ko build up afterwards. His fighting style against her is primarily the iai spirit slash followed immediately by helmbreaker, especially in cases where she jumps in the air to attack so he can get the dunk for longer topples. The choice for quick sheath is baffling to me aswell but again I am assuming he actually needed that milisecond difference after testing a couple of runs spesifically for this fight. Then again this my reasoning I could be completely wrong.
Quick Sheath honestly just feels good. if you run it for a couple of days then swap it out you'll feel the difference. sometimes you can land some pretty cool iai spirit slash counters right after helmet breaker that wouldn't have normally been possible if not for QS

He even used a Safi set with a LS. Absolute beast.

Whetfish fins+. You sharpen in one stroke, but there is a chance the fin is consumed.
