Always look forward to your videos, so will definitely be on the lookout for your next adventure with Michael. Also really appreciate your additional commentary whether about the geology of the area you’re climbing or the vegetation. The fact that the Aspen trees are clones and one gigantic network was both beautiful and mind blowing. Like the previous commenter, I wondered how much extra work and effort getting your camera in place to document your climbs, not to mention the superb video editing and choosing and syncing the climb enhancing music, creates. Pretty much a signature of your channel and your videos. Thank you, and cheers! 👍

Great video. What a perfect day. I live in far north Colorado. I do stuff like this every weekend, make videos of it. It keeps me happy.

@@codiacstudios Great! To be clear, I don't do very much stuff that is as challenging as what you did in your video. But things do get a little epic at times.

Cool, one day last summer, It was too hot to do whole slabs, but we explored the "Hell Hole" cave. we made it to the top of the cave, but it was pretty crazy, like literally at least a 500 foot straight drop. Have you been in the cave? Great video, one of my favorite channels. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much! Hell hole cave sounds intriguing. I'd love to check that out some time. Mt. Elden was a fun to climb. I'd do it again. Thank for watching as always!

Doing editing myself, I acknowledge the amount of times you had to go back and fetch the camera during the hike. Not everyone realizes or sees that 🙂

Thank you for noticing! It makes the hike more challenging but as you know it makes the editing and video more enjoyable. I often laugh at myself while I fetch the GoPro. I feel silly.

@@codiacstudios lol. Yea it does feel pretty weird going back to get it doesnt it. Then of course comes the cutting out of that part in each clip . Anyway, what your area and mine seem to have in common is that there are many open sections where one can see far and wide. Keep it up

Which GoPro do you use for your videos? I am trying to find HDR footage from the GoPro 13 to test.

@@codiacstudios I'm using the 12 as well. I do quite a bit off fiddling with color grading. Here's my crux, cannot find an easy workflow that doesn't clip colors from GoPro in REC.709 color space & gamma profile (UA-cam). My b-roll camera does BT.2020 w/ HDR. Makes it SUPER easy to grade (just drop an industry standard transform on it)... I tried making custom LUTS as well as testing existing ones and the other profiles including linear with not much luck. I see the GoPro 13 supports HLG (industry standard gamma profile that would take a transform). Hate to spend $400 just to test the GoPro 13 HLG profile though. That said I'm spending DAYS of my life adjusting GoPro colors in post so they don't clip. The GoPro's dynamic range is actually quite impressive for what it is but their built in profiles loose detail when you render the clips for UA-cam (Rec 709). They also don't conform to any industry standards making them time consuming to correct. Curious what challenges you've experienced with the camera & editing? Have you tried grading the clips form the GoPro?
