Wonderful views of long ago people dwellings! Thank you Russ!❤️😀🇺🇸
Howdy Russ! Thanks for the ride 👍
Most people just go to the Grand Canyon and miss places like this. Thanks for sharing.
I love it when you show us those roads, they’re awesome! Thanks 🙏 for sharing! Here is Houston, TX is humid and hot 🥵, sticky hot 🥵 109’f in some areas
Happy Trails , United States America , Russ , RVerTV Fans. We Love RVerTV - BEST TV ON UA-cam. Russ Too Cool 4 School.
That was a cool place those people were living like birds back then. Get yourself a sombrero to give you some shade from the sun.
You amazing me how you can walk so far, and in 90 degree heat! Me, just sitting here in my recliner as usual. 64 degrees here. Your video's are my window to the world! Thank you for posting. Mike in Oregon
Thanks for showing us another amazing site. Many of us would never get to see them if it weren't for you taking us there. Looking forward to our next adventure. 👍🙏
In my "next" life, I shall visit this canyon when I am much younger and traverse the trail. My husband and I have been twice, and I got as far as you did ... each time. AND, it took me a lot longer to get back to the top. Durn burn it!! Breathing is my biggest problem, followed by ability to walk with a cane.
I’ve been to Walnut Canyon a few decades ago. It is still a beautiful place. This is just one of the many hidden gems of the area. We were able to hike down into the actual ruins. Breathtaking!
YAY!
🙋♀️Hello Russ! This was a really nice day to visit Walnut Canyon National Monument. I enjoyed seeing the Canyon Homes. Interesting. I could just imagine what they used for a door? 👍 Happy Fathers Day Russ! Hope you have a wonderful day. Stay cool. Stay safe.
Thanks for putting up with the heat and taking the walk to the lookout to show us where they lived. I don’t do well in the heat so I really appreciate you showing us.
No campground at Walnut Canyon . Sunset Crater ( closed because of fire) up highway 89 has a national forest campground next to the visitor center but across the highway is free national forest camping. No amenities at all.. Wipatki ruins are still open but can only be reached by North entrance up 89 . Thanks for the great video as usual.
Hey Russ, good to re-visit Walnut Canyon with you. Man, those cicadas are really loud! I've done the Island Trail a couple of times--the hike back up is definitely a workout. I finished my own cross-country roadtrip a couple of weeks ago--it's great to be able to get back out there virtually with you. Happy trails!
Hey Russ!!! Yeah you ""BETTER STAY NORTH" 110 "PLUS" Down in the Southern Arizona!! Be Safe!!!
Yea 110* plus and thousands of illegals crossing of boarders . One of the largest caravans to date is on the way. Get ready it’s going to get real this summer .
Appreciate u trudging around in the heat MrRuss👍🏻
I will investigate Walnut Canyon someday🤞🏻.
Cool yea great job now I don't have to go now thanks Russ
Very nice video. Thanks
Definitely worth the hike down. We did it last year and absolutely loved it. Feeling lucky that we avoided the Arizona heat wave. Came home two weeks ago from our 34-day cross-country trip.
Ģreat video, brought back memories of when I was there about 15 years ago
Never knew that place existed; thanks for the video; 😎😎😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yes, it is worth a repeat visit. Thanks Russ.
Hey Hey Check It Out, It's RVerTV Russ. Thanks For The Ride Along Today. TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL. 👍
Russ done that hike down to bottom .Man that's a killer in the heat .but well worth it
👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
My wife and I visited that before the lockdown. It was cool!
That's a very neat place. Amazing how many homes were made there in the wall. So much work when you consider they used crude tools, and the heights. Thanks for taking us along. 🙂👍
Thanks for the tour Russ. I did enjoy this. There then is some truth to the steep cliff drop story.
Thanks RUSS. I bought my annual pass at there and Remember eagles flying on my head over 5 meters. One of Beautiful hidden Gem in Arizona. Oh, If you pass Flagstaff, Lowell Observatory would be good place to visit.
Walnut Canyon is great, and this is an excellent, relaxing video. Thanks!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I was there in August of 77’. Amazing!!
Stay up in elevation with this crazy heat!!
extreme heat
We love going there one of the best ruins you can visit in az !
Russ, thanks for the interesting tour. Finally, a condo I can afford!😄
The beauty of a visitors center, especially when it's 90-plus degrees outside, is the air conditioning......🥶😰
appreciate naming the year .your Live-stream aired before This .I I view all of your wonderful trips in the west
Hi Russ I love that Walnut Canyon! Was there last year. I stopped right where you were because my breath was taken away with how high up I was I have download you I've downloaded you have to walk people took little kids and dogs down there and they ended up coming backup. Beautiful place.
I was on my way up there from Mesa on Thursday but had a clutch problem (I think) and had to turn around. Looking forward to getting back on the road and seeing the places in your videos. Thanks, Russ.
Hope your RV breaks down
@@uglyhobo4602 it will, thank you. ✌️
Cool Russ!!
Hey Russ good too see you again from Alabama🤚🤓
Peace Love and Many Blessings from Northern Arizona!👍✌️❤️🙏🙏🙏😇
Thank you for walking around in 90 degree weather to show us such a beautiful place!
Hey Russ, Thank you for the wonderful trip to Walnut Canyon. God Bless you with safe travels.
Hey, a HEAT WAVE ! Then go up in the Mountains : North Rim of the Grand Canyon or Mount Lemmon in Arizona, Mount Charleston in Nevada, Yosemite or Mount San Jacinto in California, etc. I'm sure you know of a few more elevated spots in your area. I've never been to Walnut Canyon but I liked Sunset Crater and Meteor Crater a lot when I was near Flagstaff. Very nice video, keep up the good work, Russ ! RICHARD
Not only are there a lot of people on the highways they are still driving fast enough one would think gas was back to $1 25. I drove from Farmington to Page last week at 55. The savings with the slower speeds came in right at $14, in 263 miles!
Fantastic views!! Thanks, Russ
wow very cool
Wow great video thx you for taking me along. I need it go there.
This is what we live for, Russ taking us on another trip in Arizona, LOVE IT!!!
Another great video Russ and just think the Indians were smart enough to survive all through that and I'm glad they did preserve its own that looters didn't tear it all up
You need the umbrella with double water bottle hat model. I was getting anxious.. . You kept it going.. I figured turn around go back to van after indoor views!
That is incredible all them people live there it looks like a little town like a bunch of little houses or something that the carved but they probably did do all that that's a lot of work I wonder how many years people stay there before they all died
Good episode. We stopped there years ago. Seems like that was the year is was 114 in Phoenix when we stopped for gas. Late July or early August. Anyway I don't recall the temp at Walnut Canyon but did the trail down and I thought I was about to heat stroke out. I don't remember if we made it all the way to the bottom.
Never again in summer, maybe April or October next time...heh
AWESOME ⭐️ a must see
Loved this!
Thank you for sharing!
Your Missing out ! There everywhere .
Thank you Russ for your post. I have been interested in many of your destinations for many years. I was fortunate to make a trip to Phoenix and some sites. Again thanks
thank you
90 degree heat at 7,000' is no joke, even for fit folks. Smart to take the scenic upper trail and save the hike into the canyon for when it is much cooler. Neat place and what a glimpse of what life was like there so long ago. Travel safe. Pete - KI7LIL
Thanks for braving the heat to show us another amazing place. (I melt at any temp above 80°). Interesting to see these dwellings.
Was there in '92. Visited Meteor Crater .
One could only imagine how many children and people died from falling off the cliffs! Very cool but also very scary.
Well it's 104 here down below today. Glad you have shown the park open. It is on our list of places to see now we live in AZ.
Another meteor crater one in flagstaff one near Winslow
Great video , thanks for the memories.
I was there about 24 years ago , with my oldest son and ex-wife. I carried him around on a backpack. When down into the dwellings before the commercial tourist arrived .
Nick is 25 now , and I am 72 . No more backpack hiking !
Thanks 😊!
He should weigh some 200 lbs now, the average US young adult weight.
I have not seen the video yet of the meteor crater? If you have not posted one please do! I love that entire area. So much more beautiful than Minnesota.
Hey Russ thanks for taking us along another trip with you. If I was you I'd stay up high rather than walking down 700 steps in the heat. Sounds like the cicada are doing well this year. Stay safe on your travel my friend and thanks again for taking us on another beautiful travel day.
OMG I love that place it's beautiful and the view Wow.. enjoy..be safe 😍
Not necessary to hike down to bottom. Go down one level about 150 steps and walk around the interior wall of Canyon. Approx 10 ft wide path. (Children to the inside) . No rails, 500 feet down. You'll walk past hundreds of very small caves where the ceilings are still black from the fires of the occupants. You can see hundreds if caves opposite canyon wall on several levels.
Bedankt
Cool national park Russ. Thanks for the tour today. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Was there last October! Yep we opted not to go down the Island trail too! Love seeing all of these cliff dwellings and ruins! Safe travels and stay cool!
Thank you Russ. I've never been to walnut canyon. Beautiful!! Safe travels 🤣🤣
Hello Russ, thanks for another great video! Seeing as you're so close to the Desert areas, do you ever encounter any Rattlesnakes...?
I laughed out load when you saw that sign saying 736 steps . You go I DONT THINK SO. That was down and back , and only a mile round trip. Been down there with my
grand daughter while my wife said just what you said. DONT THINK SO.
Nice , might have to stop there next time I get down that way . I went to Mesa Verde last year , very similar , the trails take you through a couple dwellings you can go inside .
That was a great video
Nice generator. Just like ours
Hey Russ! Great video! 👍
A really beautiful place, it's on my bucket list because of your amazing video.Have safe travels.
Nancy Cain , you also can check out the meteor crater not far from walnut canyon.
Driven past here a few times on the way to Meteor Crater.....never had to visit the NM though.
Love your channel. I allow all the ads to play so you can get the advertising. That’s saying a lot. Keep up the good work.
Don't forget to visit the impact site just east of Flag... Gosh, the lava fields, there's so much in and around Flag. Enjoy and try to get out of there before winter comes! I still think you need to visit Mogollon Rim, the Clark trail - but be careful there! You can fall off the edge of the road quite easily, nearly a half mile down to the bottom! If you ever get into Strawberry, there's a tiny restaurant there (hopefully still there) that had an awesome strawberry pie!
My grand father came to Arizona after the Frist World War in 1919 . He would always say when asked about it only beening a dry heat.? His answer was putting your head in a oven is a dry heat also.
Going to Flagstaff in July for camping. I hope it's ok then, big fire fire a few miles from Flagstaff right now and they might evacuate the town. Hope it's ok.
57f here in Ireland we’re freezing in summer
Another wonderful video!! Thanks for sharing with everyone! What camera do you use while driving on the roads? I'm assuming it's a dashcam?
Thanks for taking that walk in the heat Russ, so amazing there… I will hold off on any sarcasm as my last comment generated a personal email 🙀
Great video and glad you were able to return and see more of it. Question - you said a couple of times that there is camping at the monument. We checked the NPS website and it stated that there was no camping onsite but did list some recommendations within the area. Some were not very close. Is this a change?
True it’s a dry heat til you have to ring out your undergarments. 😝
Hey Russ sounds like you had a rattlesnake in your back pocket. Another great video. Thanks
did not know about that one
Hello Russ, love your videos 👍 I was wondering what kind of camera you are using. The quality is perfect. Thanks and save travels. Wouter from The Netherlands.
Gopro with a magnetic mount
Another awesome video- Russ
“700 steps, I don’t think so.” 🤣🤣🤣
93 degrees in Ajo at 3 AM
The Town of Bedrock.
Bedrock, Utah?
Love your travels? Would seem we are within days of each other. You need to check out, Rock Art Ranch. Out of Joseph City! Bitchen trip.
Nice video. However, there are no campgrounds there.
Did you check out the Pipeline Fire, R.?
Watch out for the SABE.
