Once I was trapped in a toxic friendship with a girl that was always making me feel guilty, always complaining, always lashing out on me whenever she felt like shit, and yet not doing anything to change that. And everytime, she would come back crying, saying she didn't mean any of this, that's just bc she's damaged, broken and lonely, that i'm the only real friend she has etc. At some point, I got tired of it : she was insulting me again and I got angry (believe me, I'm very patient when it comes to close friends). I told her that I was willing to be her friend only if she promised me to never disrespect me again. She broke her promise. So I left. For a few months she kept sending me messages, saying that "in the end I was like every other person in her life abandonning her". It made me feel so angry, but I ignored her. Later she slowly realized I wasn't coming back, so she tried blaming me, accusing me, begging me, doing whatever she could to try and get me back. One year later, she came back asking if I was okay. At this point, I was no longer angry so we had a discussion. She seemed to have changed. She apologized, and it seemed sincere. She looked like she refelcted a lot on herself and saw how toxic she was. Til today, I keep a safe distance from her. I'm talking to her, helping her in a safe way, giving her advices. She seems like she is truly hurt by that distance I'm keeping but she doesn't push me or try to force me. She's still hurt and broken, and I still don't think she's fully aware of what she was and what she has done (thus why I keep a distance) but there's some change, good change. Don't let a toxic friend/lover ruin your sanity and life. Leave them. If they truly care about you, they'll reflect but if you do not stand for yourself, that person will not.

Tbh I've had a friend for a long time that was kinda toxic and she used to get really angry at me for I don't really remember why and ignored me and I used to be really sensitive (I'm still a baby when it comes to people beeing upset with me or not liking me even though I know that's ok) so that really fucked me up and we used to share a dorm room cause we went to boarding school and she yelled at me and told to just leave and I did I called my dad and got my stuff and I left. And we used to be in the same class but she was struggling to keep up and stuff so she was probably frustrated bc she had to change classes (there was an easier department and the separation was horrible she'd wright kind rude messages on my paper table pad about wanting stuff back she claimed I had ( I didn't remember borrowing it but I bought it and gave it to her parents) but ultimately throughout the separation I felt sorry for her bc everyone if our friends were taking my side bc they knew her. After a few years she apologized and now we're good friends again she's matured a lot but sometimes I felt sorry for her boyfriend cause she would get upset by him walking next to his best friend when the 4 of us were hanging out.

That is the funniest thing out of all this... Feel the pain of guys, who are "below average looking", bitches! Yay!- which was about 70% according to Tinder,(i think? I dunno. First of all: what constitutes being unattractive? I know a "classicaly" pretty girls, i wouldn`t touch with broom handle- i don`t want to get clap- i already was to the doctor with infection once, AFTER few bouts with pretty girl, and it was really mortifying, when doctor made jokes...- And not to even mention bitchy attitude, which is off putting- y`know, you see them try to be nice, they open their mouth, start talking... and at best, if you are handsome(which i am not, i am average as Hell- which is why i never bothered myself) you may think, that all this girl gets out of you will be "wham, bam, thank you ma`am"...
On the other hand, i knew few solid 6/10, 7/10 who weren`t exactly head turning- i mean, i`d notice nice things about them, like eyes, or legs or nice figure, but it was out of my head in next 5 minutes- but the more i knew them, the more attracted i was to them, and i`d choose them anyday over those 9/10 and 10/10 with "everyone worship me" attitude. There is something about those girls and women, that makes you look at them more, the more you are with them...
But it also may be difference between "sexy" and "pretty", which as we all know, are NOT the same. Models are pretty, but i am not really attracted to women with bodies of small boys, nor do i find cute girls with pouty lips, and Schwarzenegger`s gap between the teeth, i could put mouse`s cord through... On the other hand there are women, who don`t have the face for magazines` front page, yet one look at them, when they bend over, or smile at me... Well, you know what i mean :)
But if question is clear cut and the "0-1", "black or white" kind, and you ask me about somebody, who is overweight, or their face, and there is no way of saying it gently, looks like a smashed fruit... I`d most probably wouldn`t be attracted... I also say "most probably", because i don`t know for sure, ad this isn`t some try to make me look less shallow- if this person is really great, just lovely to be around, i`d might fall in love or something... I don`t know, how i would react... To this day i am not sure about most of my reactions
Simple example, why i don`t know how i`d react: in my current job i have treasurer lady, who is bit older than me, and isn`t exactly attractive- i`d give her 5/10 at most... And she is such a bitch... that my first instinctive thought, when she pissed me off really bad, was to throw her onto her desk, fuck her up the ass, while squeezing her throat with my teeth, like a lion does to its victims... I mean, i never knew, that rage might activate sexual aggression in me(bullshit, i knew that- pretty girl i mentioned earlier was an example of that, but i thought i was over that already)... Is it attraction though, or just some primitive need to humiliate and dominate...?

Once I was trapped in a toxic friendship with a girl that was always making me feel guilty, always complaining, always lashing out on me whenever she felt like shit, and yet not doing anything to change that. And everytime, she would come back crying, saying she didn't mean any of this, that's just bc she's damaged, broken and lonely, that i'm the only real friend she has etc. At some point, I got tired of it : she was insulting me again and I got angry (believe me, I'm very patient when it comes to close friends). I told her that I was willing to be her friend only if she promised me to never disrespect me again. She broke her promise. So I left. For a few months she kept sending me messages, saying that "in the end I was like every other person in her life abandonning her". It made me feel so angry, but I ignored her. Later she slowly realized I wasn't coming back, so she tried blaming me, accusing me, begging me, doing whatever she could to try and get me back.
One year later, she came back asking if I was okay. At this point, I was no longer angry so we had a discussion. She seemed to have changed. She apologized, and it seemed sincere. She looked like she refelcted a lot on herself and saw how toxic she was.
Til today, I keep a safe distance from her. I'm talking to her, helping her in a safe way, giving her advices. She seems like she is truly hurt by that distance I'm keeping but she doesn't push me or try to force me. She's still hurt and broken, and I still don't think she's fully aware of what she was and what she has done (thus why I keep a distance) but there's some change, good change.
Don't let a toxic friend/lover ruin your sanity and life. Leave them. If they truly care about you, they'll reflect but if you do not stand for yourself, that person will not.
@Chikara Love doesn't mean you have to constantly put up with the toxicity of another person while they blame it on "raging hormones". Bad behaviour has no excuse. There is no excuse to act like a bitch, disrespect your friend/partner and then act like your friend/partner doesn't love you because they decide to dump your ass. If you have some deep psychological issues it's not your friend's/partner's job to "fix" you or put up with you, you need to see a therapist for that. If you actually cared about the other person in a relationship you wouldn't look for excuses to justify your toxic behaviour like "raging hormones" you'd try to better yourself. By your statement I guess that you're probably a girl (since girls have a habit of not taking responsibility) and I pity the man that'll ever get into a relationship with you (or probably is in a relationship with you), you'll probably complain, nag and disrespect him and blame it on "raging hormones".
Sounds a lot like a toxic friendship I had a few years back. Unfortunately, I never officially ended it because I was too scared. I've just let our friendship fade naturally over time, especially since we started university. We still see each other and catch up from time to time. She's gotten *way* better over the years, but I still feel uneasy how I let her step over me out of fear. (Sorry for the long comment! Happy new years!)
Tbh I've had a friend for a long time that was kinda toxic and she used to get really angry at me for I don't really remember why and ignored me and I used to be really sensitive (I'm still a baby when it comes to people beeing upset with me or not liking me even though I know that's ok) so that really fucked me up and we used to share a dorm room cause we went to boarding school and she yelled at me and told to just leave and I did I called my dad and got my stuff and I left. And we used to be in the same class but she was struggling to keep up and stuff so she was probably frustrated bc she had to change classes (there was an easier department and the separation was horrible she'd wright kind rude messages on my paper table pad about wanting stuff back she claimed I had ( I didn't remember borrowing it but I bought it and gave it to her parents) but ultimately throughout the separation I felt sorry for her bc everyone if our friends were taking my side bc they knew her. After a few years she apologized and now we're good friends again she's matured a lot but sometimes I felt sorry for her boyfriend cause she would get upset by him walking next to his best friend when the 4 of us were hanging out.
