That was one of the most sensible videos I’ve seen. Using the basic pencils we all start with and showing their capabilities. My medium is water colour pencils where the water disperses the final tones. It takes a bit more thinking once the paper is wet but I was extremely pleased with the knowledge you have armed me with. I’ve been sketching black on white and the colour process is enhancing. Thank you.

I am not an expert with colored pencils. I've been using them just long enough to be capable of doing the basics, so I certainly don't know everything, but this is a video that tells me I REALLY have a long way to go. That's tough at my age. Excellent video. Well done, and well explained. And just a little bit depressing. I'm better with graphite than with anything else, with the exception of carving, which I can no longer do, but even there you art is at least four steps up the ladder from where I am.
I didn't concentrate on drawing for most of my life. My concentration and focus were on carving, and I did put in a few years with oil for personal pleasure. Still, I've been drawing for fifty years off and on, but you make me feel like a beginner who has never seen a pencil. This is a very good thing, and it's a real pleasure to see your art, and how you create it. It's truly amazing.

You have blown my mind with these videos. I have avoided coloring a lot of my pictures because of skin tone and I bought a pack of Crayola skin tone colored pencils which is cool but I kind of felt like it was cheating. The one thing I do understand is that all you need is red blue yellow black and white and you can create almost any color that exists especially with paint. But I like colored pencils and I don't know how I've never come across a video that explains so easily how to create skin tone and now I'm doing it like a pro and I have to thank you for teaching me that. Anybody who isn't British I can tell you things that not only you are very pretty but it's hard not to love your accent. Which I kind of think it's funny because where you live it's not an accent but a bloke from America thinks it's super Charming.

Excellent thank you. Just really simple advice and it really helps when you get confused about skin tone colours, to minimise it. Also the advice about creases - simple but very helpful.

Thank you for this very informative easy to follow demonstration! Not only that you answered one of the most overlooked questions new color pencil artists need to know! So it is~ Yes graphite pencil 2H is used to sketch in the outlines to prevent that dreaded dragging the graphite into the color work! I really appreciate you sharing your techniques and knowledge with us! Joy and Blessings! I am truly psyched and will practice and learn more from you, Kristy! Thank you! 👩‍🦰💗👩‍🎨💎🌞🌹

I usually use acrylic paint and making skin tones is super easy with paint. It's way more difficult with colored pencils. This has definitely helped me understand pencils better. I'm using a white charcoal pencils to blend the colors snd lighten up the skin if need be
