This is probably the best how-to video I've seen about alcohol markers. I'm fairly new to the medium (I just got my ohuhu markers yesterday) and I'm kinda struggling with blending. Thanks for the tutorial, you earned a sub!
ahhhh i could tryy but i acutally dont use coloured pencils much at all! im a professional at using markers, but not pencils so i might not be the best man for the job!
Bought my first set of markers hours ago. THEY HAVE THE CHISEL TIP AND THE FINE TIP. Why didnt i watch this earlier. AAAHHHHHHHH. Thank you btw awesome video
You can buy brush tips and use then instead of the chisel . The Classic Copics have a lot of different tips in packages of 10 or 15 . The brush tip has 3 tips in the package.
its okay to let the first colour dry a little bit, but ideally you don't want to let the first marker dry COMPLETELY, as that's when its no longer wet and doesn't like being blended. so I like to work fairly efficiently when I'm blending colours! hope that helps!
Thank you very much for that tutorial dude! I was searching a lot for good tutorials and it was hard (I am a beginner and bought the ohuhu kaala series with 60 colours), but this tutorial showed everything I need to know and i learned a LOT! Keep going like this 😎
thank you very much ❤️ I’ve been trying to learn how to draw with alcohol markers for so long, and finally I found out the base that is needed for this ✨
Hi! Unfortunately I only have the fine tip markers ( they were a gift) I don’t hav brush tip so can u pls do one blending vid about how to do it with fine tip? I’m new to ur channel so idk if u hav done it already or not but I thought that I would just ask
hey amna!! that’s okayyy, honestly I think you’d be better off using the chisel tip, it’s so much more versatile than the fine tip! But if you’d like, u can check out the short form tutorials I made for blending with the fine tip :)
Hey man, I just wanted to say I am a HUGE fan, just love all your videos. I recently took art for GCSE, everyone is extremely good, I feel like I’m rlly bad compared to them I really enjoy drawing however I am not all that good at it, I can draw from tutorials and other drawings, I have art resources like graphite pencils, watercolor and acrylic paints, but I really want to learn how to draw based off observation, out of all drawing I want to master sketching. Could I please get some advice? To me it seems like I’m lying that I know how to draw but I really just love it, but when I look at my drawings there generally not all that good. Please give some advice?
Wassup Ayan!! I completely feel u, I know what its like to go into a new environment where it just feels like everyone is so much better than you. BUT! The best part about what you wrote is that you really do love making art - THATS whats the most important part! I know it sounds cliche, but if u simply keep drawing, keep following tutorials on the specific areas you want to improve on, and keep trying new things, its 100% guaranteed that you'll improve over time! For now, there is literally 0 benifiit to comparing your art to the other students/artists in GCSE. So just focus on your own individual improvement, and keep going man!! Dont hesitate to ask anymore questions if u have any! All the best, Shrimpy
I can relate to the fine tip because I accidentally bought when I was a beginner but now I’ve got better markers the chisel and brush tip but before I had the chisel and fine and I absolutely hated it because I could not colour with it I could only colour with the chisel tip
yessir moleskine is amazing! just make sure you get the Moleskine ART EDITION, cuz all the other models are not made for markers, and the bleeding will be really bad! hope that helps!
hey marselo!!!! I actually use a bunchhh of different sketchbooks, but they're all listed on my amazon page in the description! And yes, Ohuhu have an awesome brush nib too, just make sure u get the Honolulu version of the marker, as that's the one with the brush nib! :)
hey Celia!!! I made a short not too long ago about fine tip markwrs, not sure if you’ve seen it already but check my recent shorts! its the one with the man wearing the purple coat :)
I use brush pens to color and the fine to pick a median color between the other 2 colors to blend and it works really well with dark colors but is really irritating with cool and warm colors
yesss paper is super important! i left out the paper part as the video was starting to get fairly long and I mentioned it in a previous video about the best art supplies to get, but any paper thats manufactured to work with markers will do the trick!
Yes!!! All alcohol markers can blend with eachother. I used to use Windsor and Newton together with Copic. As long as u don’t let the ink dry before blending, it should work just fine!
YOO sick man! that set of markers is insane, there's an infinite possibility of techniques and artworks u can make with that many markers. All the best bro, appreciate u!!
I just got new markers for christmas, but they're fine and chisel tipped. I really want to be able to blend, so if you know a way to blend with fine tips, please consider making a video on it, thank you
Where did u find ur markers? I looked over amazon and found a huge set with good colors that was affordable , but it was chisel tip and fine tip when i was hoping to find chisel and brush.
hey bro!! if u go into the description of this video, i made an amazon page with all the supplies I use, and i only included the markers with brush nibs!! hope that helps :)
Thank you sm for the tips Shrimpy , I have tried these types of markers but it was a fine tip 😅so I struggled a bit ,this video really helped a lot thank you❤

Do u wait to let the first color dry before you blend, or do u just go in right away with the next color.
