I've always been terrible at everything related to art. Mostly because I get impatient very easily. It was worse when I was younger. Your channel is very relaxing for me. I don't expect to be great at anything in a few minutes as I used to. Thank you for helping me be more patient.
I love this process, even though it takes a long time. The smoothness is exquisite. Thank you for sharing this. The skin tones in my drawings have been a bit of a struggle for me.
I have lost count how many ppl I’ve watched trying to learn how to get skin tones right. Yours is the best I’ve ever seen on here in over 2 years of watching. Thank you 💕
Out of all videos I've watched, your the only one that truly addressed the way to cover paper properly. I know nothing in comparison, but this just make since! Thanks!
For all the people saying they don’t have the patience, you’ll probably get it after seeing your drawing get prettier and prettier. That’s how it for me at least. I can work on a drawing/painting for daaayyyyssss just because I love seeing the progress so much.
I draw with dots in the stippling technique. And I thought that my technique was incredibly time-consuming and time-consuming. But what you have just shown has turned my world upside down. It's just a tremendous amount of work and now I understand why your work is so amazing!
Okay frommm all the tutorials, so far this the best and well explained, how you fill and smudge those white marks in the paper, that's what I've been looking forrrrrr SUBBED
Thank you so much I spent so much time practicing skin and looking for tutorials but couldn’t get it right thank you I think I can do it now your tutorial is by far probably one of the best for skin! 😃
Recently I've been getting into using coloured pencils so I really enjoy your art and videos. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing how you do this! It really helps a lot! 💕
I’m pretty sure you are the first person that I have learned anything from in terms of drawing in a looong time. Fantastic insight and control over the medium. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us!
I can't believe that I drawing because of not understanding how coloured pencil and then I found new yellow real time videos those videos helped me very much.thanks man all the thanks from south Africa
I'm very heavy handed and get so stuck in a rut with my drawing..i was in a slump for six months without drawing a thing...thanks to you and your amazing artistic ability and teaching techniques I think I'm ready to touch pencil to paper once again ! Thanks for the showing us in a way we can understand and see how to achieve great results in layering and blending. The constant battle for so many of us "want to be" colored pencil artists !
Thank you so much for your explanation. I was wondering all the time, watching your video’s, what you were doing. This is so helpful, I am going to practicie to master this technic too, the results are great.
Great video! Thank you for the view. I’ve just added colored pencils to my art supplies! I’m definitely glad you mentioned patience because this is something I’m working on very hard as well. I think my other mediums let me move quickly, but the colored pencils force me to be more mindful and have been a huge help with my anxiety.
Thank you!!! No one explain this as good as you. Finally I can understand. I've watch so many videos and they color their portraits and say "must have value" ok what is value when it comes to drawing? Lol thanks again.
The is by far the best tutorial on how to use a colored pencil properly. Hope you will do another with multiple color layering and blending. Thank you for this one really helps a lot hope you wont stop doing these kinds of videos.
That was very in depth and interesting. Thank you! I normally use burnishing for final layers, just to get a smooth texture. But not until the very last layers of my drawings. I hope to see more tips from you in the future! 💜
the patience required for this is insane. I have always done art and I went through the learning process at a young age and it has been my job my whole life but I have never shaded a square like that
Man your tutorials are worth it😨.I recently discovered your channel and I guess I have gotten a spot to jump in.I had watched many tutorials but they are never as good as yours
I just use round movements and always slytly and doing many layers,i think its easier than filling the white spots, its the first time in my life that i see a method like this, and i have watched numerous artists.
@Phantom1 It depends on how much you concentrate on your drawing, if you loose motivation in completing one drawing then it takes long. if you concentrate and all it takes less time. For me it takes 2-3 days to complete a portrait but if i am being lazy it takes me a week or a week and a half
Great tutorial man! So that's how they achieve the super realistic look. No wonder it takes them 24+ hours to complete a drawing. The amount of attention they pay to the tiny details is insane.
I'm really happy because you didnt stop recording videos! Your videos are definitly the best, the best tutorials ever!!! Thank you for your every video ❤
oh my why didnt i get notified of this new vid right away?i thought i had seen so many tutorials on yout prev.videos.thank u so much for sharing your technique!
Thank you for the video. I'm a beginner and its hard to find a good video and I enjoyed the time you have taken to show us how to properly make a beautiful skin tone for our coloring books :) Time and patiences with skin tone learned a lot from watching you .
I just watched about ten videos trying to understand why it always looks waxy before the paper even gets filled. Every single video I've seen they were SOOOO focused on terms and we're excessively dense. It was boring and very painful to try to learn from. You're the only one I was able to watch and also the longest while actually being helpful. Thank you!
I'm working on a portrait of a family and in order to fit the custom frame I'm having to work really small. Having a hard time getting the smoothness I can usually achieve with a larger drawing and OSM. This might actually work! Going to try it tomorrow. Thanks! Excellent work BTW.
Update...worked like a charm! Woohoo! It's really tedious, my carple tunnel is killing me and I'm cross eyed but it looks great! I'd love to send you a picture of the completed portrait somehow. THANK YOU!😊
I've been dying to find more skin tone tutorials using Polychromos. Thank you for sharing! There are so many for Prismacolor and Luminance, but I use Polys a lot.
I think my main issue was layering a lot (but not enough) and then burnishing. But it looks way more realistic if you're patient and just keep layering, can't wait to try this out thanks so much!!
I’ve been trying to find videos to learn more on how to make skin tones with prismacolor colored pencils but I realize these pencils your using might be a better option. This is the only good video I came across when trying to learn how to create realistic work with colored pencils that blend well
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is so great! Thank you so much for sharing. I think I’m going to try/start with practicing this for a while before going into a full fledged face. I get intimidated when I have to do a whole project. This old gal is new to this kind of art. Photography has been my thing for a very long time but I felt I had to expand my horizons. You explained everything perfectly. While I was watching I had questions but a bit later you answered them all. Really, can’t thank you enough!
One question :). The Stonehenge you’re using is 250gsm. Is there a name. I know it’s probably 100 cotton velum but is there a specific name? Like smooth, multi, etc.? Thanks
I wonder if a brief blast of heat from a heat gun, and some gentle application of the tortillon, might make blending in easier under certain circumstances. If pushing wax medium around is the goal, it might help.
Love your videos man, I usually create graphite stuff, but the way you've been inspiring made me go into colored pencil drawings as well. Other artists charge for this kind of tutorials but kudos to you for providing this much info here on YT, its much appreciated.

It's possible to do this. But it'll take a bit of practice.
