I was bored in the tractor and I can see my sad gearboxless 70 series. So I searched for putting one of these engines in it. Because they are awesome. Now I've watched this whole series and I'm super disappointed it is ongoing.
Congrats on the project so far! You are one step ahead from Patrol 63 AMG ongoing Project. One issue I see with the adapter plates you made, due to the unbalanced points of mounting the screews it will vibrate and distroy the gearbox. I would suggest to use the original mounts and cut only the shafts and balance them after. Good Luck!
Don't worry, they're not completely finished just yet. It'll be very easy to balance the adapter plates if they cause vibrations. Using the original VW shafts isn't really an option given their construction
