  • In 1990, a 14-year-old girl ran away from her Texas home and disappeared; six months later, her body was found hundreds of miles away in an Illinois barn. Agents tracked down a trucker who they believed was responsible for over 50 murders. Investigators knew they had to stop this menace of the highways.

My car broke down on a remote stretch of I-35 in Missouri. I was about 29. I had just started to hitch hike and a trucker pulled over. He got on my case saying, it wasn’t safe out there. He took me to the nearest truck stop and waited until help arrived. I’m so thankful that he was kind. Thank God and that trucker.

I had a similar experience. We were lucky. I was trying to run away from home and go back to New Orleans and my grandmother. My basketball team had played at a school near the highway. I played my game, girls go first usually, and I left while the boys played. This trucker picked me up in the dark, on the side of I-20, took the next exit to a well lighted gas station and waited for the Ouachita Parish sheriff's dept to get there. Lol, the gig was up and they took me home. Could've been so bad. I was 15.

I'm sorry too that people like this give truck drivers a bad reputation. 😢 Back in the day, my parents and grandparents taught us to respect truck drivers. They called truck drivers "the White Knights" of the road. On a road trip, We would always look for a restaurant that had a lot of trucks because my grandparents would always say the truckers know where the good food is.😂 I suppose these days, parking and fueling up has a lot to do with where truckers choose to stop. At any rate, I still respect the drivers, I give them their space and try to be considerate of the fact that 1) trucks don't exactly stop on a dime. 2) a car is no match for a big truck and it's just easier on everyone if you yield to an 18 wheeler! 😂

Finally he said to me, “ I can’t believe you picked me up, I could be a serial killer or something.”....... I looked him square in the eyes and with a straight face I replied, “ the chances of two serial killers being in the same car have got to be astronomical.”.......... he asked that I let him out at the next off ramp!!

When I was 14 or 15 I took a ride from a stranger on my way home from a friend's house. It was drizzling and it was a good 3 hour walk up a mountain in a small southern town. I got into his van and immediately noticed a very strange odor, which now I'm sure came from some drug he had smoked. I tried to make small talk but he barely spoke, only asking what I was doing and where my parents were. He was behaving pretty odd, seeming really nervous and such. I got him to drop me off about 2 miles from my home because I didn't want him to know where I lived. He seemed hesitant to let me out, which was alarming, but he let me go. I'll never forget that. I thought for sure I was about to be kidnapped. Everyone knew each other in that little town, but I had no idea who that guy was, and he didn't seem local. He wasn't friendly at all which was another huge red flag. I was just a kid though, so I was stupidly naive. Dont think girls or women are the only targets for these people. They'll take boys too. I'm 32 now, and looking back on that, I count myself lucky to be here. I did have a big ass pocket knife and lots of homegrown country boy muscle back then, so he would've had a fight on his hands at least. Stay safe out there friends. Unfortunately it's safer to just say no to any courtesy these days.

How could they search his house, find all the pictures and evidence of so many people, then allow him to do a plea deal, being eligible for parole after a year ? Astounding. But there's also nothing in this story to say there was as many as 50 murders, as claimed in the title.

The FBI believe he wad likely responsible for up to 50 or more. They know about 5 in a relatively short space of time, & he was active for years before that. Not to mention around 800 women dumped along Highways that r part of FBI HSK initiative, many of whom were on his routes & met his MO, & then there's all the pictures of mainly unidentified victims. They've found 1 alive; , but others linked to dead victims but without enough other evidence to prosecute. And luckily he's locked up for life now.

Hospitals may have kept her there for days. Defence attorneys would have seen the pictures of the healed up wounds. And claimed they were nothing. So this is just for one 2 year gap of 14 to 16 yr olds. How can there be so many missing? This seems like something as bad as this pandemic! I wonder what the total is from ages 1 to 18? Good Lord, there must be thousands of children missing? It can't all be human trafficking? What the What is going on?
How can our leaders, let this be so NOT SPOKEN ABOUT? Then there are these sickos killing and not telling the families where the body is. Can't we torcher these men, like they did their captors and get the info out of them?
FBI how can we loose this many children?

The scariest encounter I've ever had was when I was living from hotel to hotel escorting to support my horrible habits. A guy called the phone in my room and said he had been watching me 2 weeks before when he was staying there and would watch me go from room to room to buy drugs and to the desk to pay for my room each morning and to the vending machine, gas station across the way, etc. i thought it was weird ... he then told me he had his room switched to the one next to mine so he could see me better and I of course found this creepy but he said he was coming back to the hotel to get a room
And wanted a date with me and I said ok. He called me when he got there and settled and I walked to his room. I was smoking a cigarette on the way to his room and another escort at the hotel saw me and asked for a cigarette so I gave her one and continued on to his room. I got there and he was already naked except for his socks.. so I'm like ok well let's do this then and get it over with (in my head) I start .. fooling around with him.. and stood up for a second to grab a sip of my drink and he pulls a knife from under his pillow. He started speaking in another language. I backed up to the door and was wearing nothing but my bra. I said throw me my clothes and money. He said if you want them.. come and get them. My legs were like jelly. I opened the door and threw up all over the walkway. That's how scared I was. Then I took off running .. again, in nothing but my bra. I saw the escort who asked me for a cigarette hotel room coming up so I started banging on her door. Her bf answered, looked me up and down and pulled me in the room. They wrapped me in a blanket and I just fell to my knees and bawled my eyes out. Sadly, that wasn't enough to get my clean. That happened in the winter of 2015. I will have 2.5 years sober as of 1/6/22 but I only got clean bc I went to jail in 2019 And found out I was pregnant. There are days, for some reason, I still miss my old lifestyle but I love my son more than anything and i could never disappoint him! He's only 2 but still... I can't let him down. I cannot imagine how these Poor young women felt .. or maybe I can... I knew I was going to be able to run out the door and I still puked from being so scared. I can't imagine being any more frightened than I was but I imagine knowing there is no way out or away from an evil monster has to be unimaginably terrifying.

It's so unbearable that so many young people go missing every year. With all the knowledge we have at our fingertips and as mush as parents, police and others talk to young people at school and such it's just mind blowing that it's still happening. My only child passed away in 2005 at the age of 29 and it was the worst thing I'd ever gone through. But I can't imagine what it would be like not to know what happened to my child. I have a 24 year old granddaughter and I've always tried to teach her about such things. She carries pepper spray and I've taught her to always have her car keys ready to use as a weapon and to unlock her car in a hurry. You never know when someone might be ready to attack you. People need to be aware of their surroundings. I pray for all the families that have loved ones missing and for all the families who's loved ones have been murdered.

Especially in today's very rapidly declining world, people are going mad and their mentality is getting sicker and sicker, single women or at least one person in the household if they are a married couple needs to carry a firearm. There is no reason for a 20 something year old woman to be walking around without a firearm. It could be the difference between life and death, and if someone breaks into your home, you can't bring mace or a knife to a gunfight. Having a firearm allows you to walk without fear knowing you will never be sexually assaulted or have your life taken from you. As a woman I would never ever live my life without one, and everyone who doesn't have one is making themselves an unnecessary easy target.

She got in her car from the drug store, & a knife came up to her throat from behind her seat......
.......long story, she survived, but it was a horrible ordeal.
3 guys, @ a red-light, opened my girlfriend's door & mine as teens, were in the back seat in a flash & it was scary, tho a lesson learned & we weren't harmed luckily. A friend's brother was jerked out of his pick up, shot in the face & his truck sped off.
I've many stories in 77 yrs, my point: you cannot be too careful. Wisdom is better than wise ass, or thinking you're smarter than others.

When I was a kid I saw a link to a page that showed the last pictures taken of people before they died. Regina's pictures in the barn were in there. Her head was shaven and she had her hands up defensively. She was in a black dress with heels. I was very young, shouldn't have been looking at that kind of stuff. The pictures of her haunted me, and I've never forgotten her. The photos are some of the most terrifying images I've ever seen. RIP.

I had two experiences with truck drivers too. The first was in 1982-83 sometime and my step brother and I had decided to hitch hike to Sydney from the Gold Coast. We hitched to Sydney without problems, but on our return things went sour. We got picked up by a crazed trucker madman who tried to kidnap me! Along the Road a few hours into our trip, he stopped the truck and sent my brother into a service station to get chocolates and drinks. As my brother entered the store, the trucker tried to start up the truck with me in it and take off. My brother was a super fast runner and he managed to catch the truck as it was pulling out of the service station, get the passenger door open and drag me out! The truck driver screamed profanities at us but we just ran for our lives back into that service station!
The next time, we broke down on the Hume Highway out of Melbourne. A really nice truck driver helped to get us all home safe. Another motorist had stopped and offered to help but the trickiest had spotted him and pulled over also. He told the other guy to take a hike and afterwards explained to us that he thought the first motorist was a weirdo. Turns out that he was right. A week later, my friend was coming to my place late at night and as he approached the house, he heard a noise. Then, a man came running out from the backyard and he almost bumped into my friend in his haste! My friend gave chase but couldn’t catch the man. Next morning we looked all around our home to see if we could find anything. There was a man’s jumper left outside under the bushes directly beneath my daughters bedroom! My friend later told me that he recognised the man when he chased after him that night. It turned out to be the motorist who had stopped and offered to help us on the Hume Highway that fateful night. That trucker did is a huge favour by preventing me and my daughter getting in his car to call for help. As it also turned out, that weirdo followed us all the way from Seymour back to Melbourne to find out where we lived. Strange and scary true story🤷🏼‍♀️

We had salvaged a huge number of the siding boards before putting a match to it, so it wasn't quite the conflagration one would think, even though it was about 100 by 100 feet, with straw still in the mow.
      It went very smoothly.

Good thing you never hopped in the car with any number of these people. It seems that the serial killer began to peak in the 60’s and 70’s as we went into the late 80’s early 90’s advancements in DNA has been, I think key to capturing these deviants and stopping others from attempting similar acts. Now that’s not to say the day of the serial killer is a thing of the past it’s more that it seems that our bigger threat now a days is the advent of the spree killer. What’s tough about that one is, there’s not a lot one can do to protect themselves against such a killer.

I hate the whole parole system. If you commit the crime, you do the time. Why even have it? Anyone released should be put in a half-way house next to those that are on the Parole Board.
