  • After a young woman went missing, police suspected that her well-connected, married ex-lover was responsible. However, when investigators couldn't find the murder weapon or even the woman's body, the FBI's only hope was to go undercover and turn brother against brother.

    In 1993-94 Capano was a partner with the Philly based law firm (Saul, Ewing, Remick & Saul). I worked out of the Hbg branch and met Capano after the firm's Xmas party as I was at the bar getting a drink. He was pouring on the charm when his girlfriend, his unlucky victim, showed up. He introduced her to me, she didn't look very happy at the time. After a short round of small talk, Capano's paralegal came over to rescue me and with a DEAD SERIOUS look on his face, warned me to stay far away from Capano bc he was "very bad news". I thought he was kidding but he swore that he wasn't and also said that Capano had serious ties to the Mob. I thank God and that wonderful gentleman for getting me out of there that night! Capano always reminded me of the creepy older man looking for some young stuff...... not impressive at all.

    When I was 15 back in 1996 I worked at a dry cleaners and I swear to God, Thomas Capano came in one day with bloody shorts and claimed he had cut himself shaving. I naively told him that we cannot accept any item with bodily fluids on it and didn’t even realize who he was until after he left. That Summer, missing posters with Anne Marie Fahey’s picture were posted all over Wilmington, DE and it was a BIG DEAL. My grandmother made me promise never to tell anyone what I had witnessed because she feared for my life. And I never did until years later when I was attending the University of Delaware and the prosecutor from the case, Charles Oberly, just so happened to be my Criminal Law professor! Years later after learning all of the details of the case, I came to realize that Tom Capano was clearly so extremely arrogant that he honestly would attempt to have his murder pants freakin dry cleaned rather than desperately trying to hide/destroy them. He was pretty much a textbook narcissist, in my opinion.

      One of the brothers had narrowly escaped being convicted for rape previously. Gerry, who briefly attended my high school a year behind me, had had drug problems for years. His mother disowned him after the murder trial, because Gerry had "betrayed" Tom. The contractor brother with the dumpsters had many run-ins with the law, mostly for trying to bribe public officials so they would ignore zoning laws. After the murder trial, he had built a hotel next to I-95 and near the airport, and practically in the middle of a wildlife refuge, Churchman's Marsh. It was discovered that he had been told he could build a hotel with X number of square feet, but he had made it almost twice as big, figuring he could just bribe someone to look the other way. But because of the murder trial and the scrutiny on the family, it came out that he had over-built the motel. He literally had to fill in half the hotel rooms with insulation foam, so they couldn't be used, to keep him from renting out the rooms. Very shady family.

      Murder IS forgivable. King David committed it via a “hit” for Bathsheba’s husband, Uriah after “being” with her, resulting in her becoming pregnant by him, King David.The entire story is in 2Samuel, chapters 11 and 12. David’s prayer of forgiveness for this is Psalm 51, the entire chapter. Jesus Christ still was born through the line of King David as God had promised David, proving that his asking for forgiveness of arranging Uriah’s murder WAS ACCEPTED. Plus, God always, even after this, called David, “a man after His, God’s, own heart.” True, David had to pay earthly consequences, even though FORGIVEN, resulting in his family affairs, mainly concerning his relationship with his children, becoming for him hell on earth. So, yes God will forgive murder if one is sincerely sorry, makes no excuses for it, takes full responsibility and ask for forgiveness. This doesn’t refer to justified self defense.✌🏿

    I'm from Wilmington, Delaware and I remember everything about this case. It was huge news. In fact, the person who bought Jerry Capano's boat lived about 5 houses down from where I was living at the time. Our local paper called me but I couldn't help them any as I didn't know the people who bought it. This show didn't show all the details. This monster talked with his other mistress on the phone, which was taped, while he was in prison and he very clearly indicated that he killed Ann Marie. And Ann Marie wasn't the only woman that he stalked after they broke up with him. Also, all the Capano brothers were known to be corrupt. Honestly, even though Jerry Capano had a problem with drugs and guns, he was the "nicest" of the group.

There are many high profile people who have gotten away with many crimes over long periods of time. It may be getting better now but it’s far from perfect. It’s also well known that a public defender doesn’t make much money so usually when they are good at their job they will go into private practice. Hence people who are wealthy can hire the best legal representation but someone who can’t gets a public defender. But it was how you tracked down the truck, and the day, and site they dumped that particular dumpster remains at that was so on point. Surprisingly Capano already had another mistress for the prior 15 years. A woman closer to his age who knew his wife. Not sure why he felt compelled to take Annmaries life considering he already had the other mistress who was devoted to him. I also can’t believe he murdered her given she was the Governors secretary

    Capano, aged 61, was found dead in his jail cell at 12.34 p.m. on September 19, 2011 by an officer performing a routine security check.Death penalty commuted to LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE 😳

    • @Summermute7
      @Summermute7 Рік тому

      At the time of Capano’s conviction, Delaware law required judges to determine the death sentence. The Supreme Court later decided that procedure was unconstitutional and that death sentences must be rendered by juries. That is why Capano’s sentence was commuted to life without parole.

      He said he helped with the groceries.
      Someone else could've killed her after he left.
      Obviously he murdered her.

    Taken from Wikipedia: "Capano, aged 61, was found dead in his jail cell at 12:34 p.m. on September 19, 2011, by an officer performing a routine security check at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center state prison near Smyrna, Delaware. The medical examiner determined that Capano died of sudden cardiac arrest. He also had "atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, and that obesity was a contributing factor in his death". Following Capano's death, his brothers Louis and Joseph engaged in a bitter court fight over their family's multimillion-dollar real estate empire.
