Breathe normally. Usually setting a time for one's self, like 5, 7, 14 or 20 minutes at a time where one is comfortable with. Hence when done regularly each day, one can notice the breathing will eventually lengthen without the necessary effort. The important part is "attentiveness" where if an individual notice themselves focusing on other things, to then "attend" back to concentrating on the breath. It does require practice, patience and diligence but the rewards are more than worth it - especially now when one of the symptoms of the corona virus is loss of or hard of breath and breathing. Clearing the nasal passages as well as empowering one's self through the control of the breathing is a step towards true understanding of independence, individuality, freedom, oneness and awareness of self.

Because I could then even do this exercise in public while travelling, etc. Thks so much.
Hi MediaTRIX, The method works best as is, with head nodding and pinching the nose. It helps to create the air hunger that opens up the airways. Thanks for the comment.
Trying this method can be dangerous. I have tried it, it temporarily clears my nostrils, but the congestion always comes backs sooner or later, sometimes it clears them for as long as a week, but never much longer than that. On the other hand, using this method caused me a headache and broke minor blood vessels in my brain. This isn't necessarily a much better idea than partial turbinectomies are.

I started having this problem when I got a call center job which needs me to be talking from start to end of shift plus anxiety so I found myself taking deep breaths and have resorted to mouth breathing, before long I realized this constant excessive yawning and inability to take a deep satisfying breathing and I was freaking out. My question is, I want to do this Buteyko breathing exercise but since I talk a lot would that not have any bad effect if I make this effort of breathing slow and minimal? Enlighten me please?
Interesting. I'd love it if I can get this to work for me. When I try it as described in the video, holding my (lack of) breath for ±40 seconds, my nose is clear directly after but withing 20 seconds it's closed again. After the fifth round there is maybe a slight difference, but barely noticeable. What can I do better?
Try holding the breath for as long as you can. Then breathe only through the nose at all times. Practise the nose unblocking exercise every time the nose gets stuffy. The more you breathe through the nose, the less congested it is.
I don’t if will work for me I will try few more time but I have a problem I have a deviated nose after I fall front flat to the floor and I always feel my right side more clogged than the left side I don’t want surgery I am to old to go through that so I will do my best to see if my nasal congestion get better or go away thank you

Wish this would of come with a warning to be careful if you have neck issues. I really messed up my neck by doing these exercises. It’s very stiff and sore. It only helps clear for a few minutes anyway then the congestion comes back.
I tried for a while to breathe only from the nose and I was focused a lot on closing the mouth ... but many times I feel uncomfortable and that the mouth needs to be opened to get more air ... Usually the mouth opens automatically when there is no air ... but I have to constantly open in a way Being independent of the mouth has always been automatic ... How do I change the habit of the brain stopping being aware of breathing and mouth for the restoration of the automaton?
I think that is why they recommend taping the mouth shut. You can also use something else to remind you not to open your mouth, like a pendant placed between the lips like Dr. Mike Mew suggests.
