The guy everyone was worried about in the first episode didn't die. No one they knew died. John was the guy they thought might have died, but he turned up alive at the party where Leila accidentally knocked the guy down. John is the guy Dom likes.
Idk if you’ll see this but people have a problem with Joey because of her performative activism. During the gym scene Dom and her teammates all organized the kneel beforehand. Demonstrating their knowledge of racism and the unjust system. Joey just stares. It’s only until people start booing i Joey kneels as well and forces her friend to do the same. She also she lacks the comprehension of her own white privilege. When Dom’s wallet was “stolen” by the boys and the teacher came up Joey spoke first. Dom was trying to rectify the situation, but it was too late. What Joey doesn’t realize (for a bit) that her crys for help will always be taken seriously because she’s white. So yeah. I got this understanding from a UA-cam name Tee Noir I think but if you search a grand army review you’ll find her.
i think people hate on her too much saying she's th epitome of whie feminism. to me the gym scene literally showed that she was learning she saw them kneel, saw the guy booing and realized something and therefore joined. people always say it's not our job to teach white women but when they try to learn by themselves they're fake and it's for show? i mean i know those girls are out there and they are very loud but the way they filmed joey made it seem genuine
The amount of people saying „she deserves it“ scares me. That‘s the reason why girls are afraid of boys these days. How could someone ever deserve to be r@ped! Even if she was wearing a skirt and a top (almost ever girl wears). This is so sick and fucked up. I hope these „people“ find pease someday🤝
