I love this channel! I'm currently tackling both front wheel bearing hub assemblies, brakes & rotors. After looking at my front strut assemblies, they are rusted up, in pretty bad shape. So, now that's next on my list of things to-do. 😅 Thank you for all of your awesome videos and information. You make it seem easy enough for the average handy person like myself! Gives me the confidence I need to start the job.

Seriously one of the best videos I’ve seen thank you and thank you for mentioning the torque specs some are really hard to find but your videos definitely make it easier
Thank you so much for the video. I was having some vibration while driving. Found your video and gave me the confidence to get this done. Well explained without the nonsense. Any weekend “mechanic” can get this done. I went to autozone to get the 36 mm socket. They loaner for a deposit. Definitely would recommend an impact if you have. I have some strength but even then it was hard.
I just recently got my Arm Control and both front Stray bar links replaced at a very reasonable price.Tge reason for both stray bar link replacements is because I drove with a bad wheel bearing so long it caused the stray bar link to stretch scrapping and putting pressure and benting the arm control. That issue is fixed as of yesterday. My car still makes that humming sounds alot quieter than what is was before.Im wordering if it the front Strut that still making the noise even though it's less quiet.
Always have issues removing sway bar. End up cutting and replacing. What is the model of the locking wrench. That might help instead of an open ended wrench
Great video. I have arthritis and can't do this kind of work anymore so I had to pay an auto shop to replace both struts on my 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. I think they screwed me. Total cost was $923. $ 501.60 - 2 Struts @ $250.80 each $219.66 - Strut Labor $219.66 $109.95 - 4 Wheel Alignment $ 46.93 - Shop Supplies $ 45.25 - Tax ---------------------------------- $923.29 - Total
That sounds about right. They might have used OEM parts if it was a dealer, which are more expensive. Mine were $151 per strut for a middle of the road brand. Not great, but not cheap amazon junk.

Now this is the way an auto repair video should be made. Subbed. Thanks much
Bravo, the best automotive 'fix ir' video I've seen in a long time. No time wasting BS, only quick relevant information.

Thanks so much for the video! Apprecite the details and the "bonks"
sway torque 48ft/lbs, bottom bolts 89 ft/lbs.
Top bolts 18ft/lbs after wheels on the ground
your videos are fantastic
great video.
do you need a front end alignment after changing struts? thank you
yes
Not unless you changed your tie rods.
How many hours does the book say for this job? Both sides?
Thanks for getting to the point people have stuff to do and you understand
@TRQ what kind of penetrant are you using? 3:53

Great Video. Always remember to Bonk!
Do you know the exact part number for the mounting bolts and nuts? I think I stripped mine. I have a 2008 3.6L
Ya'll sell all kind of parts off the wall.Do you sell the wheels for this car like the rim itself?I want the stock looking rim
2012: Sway bar link nut size? Is there a t40 or 8mm there also (saw this in other videos)?
needs a t40 and 18mm wrench
I like to pay mechanics like this he work very clean
Awesome video
Give it a few loving bonks…. Bam bam bam!!!!! 😂😂😂

My sway bar link does not line up after taking old strut off it's sitting like 4+ inches too high. New strut matches old strut exactly
Great great great video.
I should do this to my veerhicle
Our 2009 Malibu's front hubs were a 35mm not a 36mm.
I ruined my strut wish me luck no mechanic experience but gonna try lol
Thanks again.
top bolt torque 7:00
3:36 Strut stuck
6:23 sway torque
6:43 wheel torque

There is no R in this word.
bottom torque 6:00
Ummmm...I need clarity. Why does this dude keep calling the vehicle a "vericle"?!?!?
~Would Be NICE,
..If It REALLY Only
`Took 7 & 1/2 Mins`

Didn't use star pattern when removing lug nuts = risk of rotor warping.
No, not at all, it's being removed so no chance of uneven torque affecting anything.
Nascar tire changer????
