Avene has a similar product with the same active ingredient. The product is called "Comedome", I have yet to finish watching this video, but my adult acne got much much better after I started using it.

There is one leave-on product that contains fragrance that I do make the exception for. It is the Formula 10.0.6. Total Lockdown Spot Defending Moisturiser, which contains salicylic acid, hemp & sunflowerseed oil, dimethicone, zinc PCA etc. It is a light moisturiser that treats acne breakouts. I only use it on my nose or chin if I have a breakout, not all over my face. It keeps the skin hydrated (but not oily) and doesn't dry out the offending area, making for a smooth cover up. It soothes and calms the blemish/blemishes and the inflamed surrounding skin. I have to admit I love the pleasant fresh smell, which reminds me that the product is doing some good! It is not have a "girly" smell, so I imagine that most teens would enjoy using it. It doesn't take long to absorb, then apply sunscreen on top. I discovered it by chance when it was on clearance in another store for AU$5, but have now so far only seen this product in their range on shelves in Priceline Australia. Just AU$12.95 for a 75ml (2.54 fl oz) tube that lasts for ages. It id important to remember to keep oily and acne prone skin hydrated and not dry it out and ruin the skin barrier by stripping the skin with harsh products, or laying out in the sun ...like people did in the "bad old days". 👱♀️❤
I recently started using Silymarin CF. I have acne prone skin and it hasn't caused acne flare. Other Vit CE formulations did cause acne flare up but that may be due to the Vitamin E. This product is very pricey, undecided at this point if I will repurchase.
Great insight. I use Phloretin CF bc of Skinceuticals. CE Ferulic irritates my skin. I am always fighting hyperpigmentation, so I pay the price for their record. Also, I have been using Triple Lipid Restore for years and wondering your thoughts on that. Thanks for all your detailed reviews.
I live in a super arid climate & have dry sensitive skin with a tendency to blackheads/sebaceous filaments in my T-zone. I have previously tried using 2% salicylic acid face washes and found them too irritating. I have also used pretty much all the SkinCeuticals Vit C products, including this one, and found that some of them worsen the appearance of the clogged pores in my T zone by darkening them. FWIW, the Vit C / salicylic acid / silymarin formulation does not do this, and I can easily tolerate the low dose salicylic acid even though it’s a leave on product.

Thanks for the video! I always learn so much from you. Can you also review Skinceuticals A.G.E. Eye complex and A.G.E. Interrupter? My new dermatologist recommended that for me. I was not able to tolerate tretionin and aklief because I have rosacea. I am using the redness neutralizer for skinceutials and I find it very soothing. The only downsize is the price.
Oh, I tried this one, but it was too harsh for my skin. The phloretin one, which is 10% ascorbic acid and doesn't have salicylic acid, worked much better for me.
Brilliant assessment of these chemical compounds. I feel that the new product is brand-name driven. How about a $8.00 salicylic acid cream and a quality Vit C cream which can be found for under $30.00. BTW you are glowing today.
My skin is looking particularly fresh and healthy lately after using the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic more often...but my good skin is currently being 'wasted' as we are back to wearing masks again at work...which is more important I know. 🤗 I have now invested in a pure silk face mask that doesn't ruin my makeup or irritate my skin, allowing me to pull down my mask when I eat or drink. I just apply a pretty pink lipliner to my lips (all over) so that is doesn't smudge or get transfered to my mask. Perhaps my skin is also getting gently polished by the silk? Thankfully I wont have to reapply sunscreen this week as I'm coming home when it's dark. I bought my 3 layer 100% silk face mask (also with optional pocket) at Target (Australia) for AU$20. So far, I have only seen a light peach colour, which I do like as it tones in well with my fair skin. I have also had my 4th vaccination. Stay safe everyone! 👱♀️❤
I’ve been using this since it was introduced. I was previously using the phloretin serum. I did have to ease into it as I’m sensitive and this is a bit stronger. I like it, but I have pretty oily skin and have not noticed a change in oil production. I’m 45 and have started to get the very occasional hormonal pimple so I’ll stick with it for the addition of a little salicylic acid. I do also use tretinoin about four times a week. I’ve used skinceuticals vitamin c products for about five years and I did have brighter skin tone over time with improved appearance of pores.
Hi. You say you were using skin critical vit c for years and had good results... what is the exact name? And why did you decide to switch to this one the Silynarin? Because of occasional acne? Ty
@@olgabushak2942 I decided to try it because there was a claim that it helped normalize excess oil production, but I did not find that to be the case. Because it slightly sensitized my skin, I went back to the other skinceutical serum. I do not have acne so I can’t speak to whether it helps with that at all.
I believe Dr. Shereene Idriss has done a review in one of her videos otherwise master esty Penn Smith Skincare does a comparison video between that and the Victoria Beckham line (that he supposedly helped formulate).
I'd check out videos by Dr. Shereene Idriss, The Budget Dermatologist, Dr. Jenny Liu, Dr. Daniel Sugai who all have videos covering vit c and different serums. Dr. Ania Marid, MD has one as well and they aren't all expensive.
@@usamakhan3553 it works just fine on oily or dry, I have both 💀. It sinks into the skin and absorbs fast. I just have to remind ppl they have a 10% concentration bc omg the 20% can def sting
I believe the vitamin X from regimen labs has silymarin in it as well as 15% l-ascorbic acid + c+ Ferulic acid and several other antioxidants I freaking LOVVVEEEE the vitamin x from them. My skin has never been able to handle 15% l-ascorbic acid til I tried that one and I’ve yet to have a reaction to it it’s so good makes the skin look amazing
I hate the tackiness of vitamin X. My face felt sticky, not in a moisturized way for the whole day. I couldn't finish it within 6 months and had to toss it after it turned color/went bad.
Avene has a product called Comedomed (at least we have it in Europe) and their active ingredient is an extract from milk thistle seed, they sell it as an acne treatment. Would this product be comparable to the skinceuticals one? cause the avene one is way cheaper.

brand-name driven. How about a $8.00 salicylic acid cream and a quality Vit C cream which can be found for under $30.00.
BTW you are glowing today.
Thanks for this helpful video, Dr. Dray! :) Will you be reviewing Vanicream's newish facial moisturizer with SPF?
That hair color is giving Dr. Jay! It looks beautiful on you, it makes you look even younger than you already do ❤
Good to know. Thx Dr Dray!
Yes it worth every penny the science is there to prove that this formula works wonders and actually get into the deeper layers of the skin
Oh no i really dont like Silymarin Skinceuticals, my face and my neck full of acne after using this 😰
Actually its 182$ from their website.
Fantastic explanation!
i bought it for the vitamin c - it's on sale whereas their classic CEFerulic is never on sale!
Just got a sample of this in the mail, curious how it will work for my skin, i have been using the CE Ferulic for over a year and love it
My skin is looking particularly fresh and healthy lately after using the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic more often...but my good skin is currently being 'wasted' as we are back to wearing masks again at work...which is more important I know.
👱♀️❤
Dr. Dray you always read my mind about skin concerns lmao my skin is so oily right now
Dr Dre you look AMAZING 😍
I received a sample of Skinceuticals Silymarin CF and loved it, but I just can’t bring myself to spend the money to buy it. Yet.
I tried it last year till the last drop and no difference with the vit c e ferulic.
The phlorentin one doesn t stink my face unlike the vit c.
A little off the subject…but you look great today. Love that color shirt on you plus your makeup looks very nice on you. Also, love your videos.
Hi! I would love to see you do a review on OneSkin. Thanks!
have a great Thursday guys
Happy Thursday
enjoy your day !
Maybe it was just the tretinoin??
@@Lee-qu4ce no I had already used tretinoin for years. This was further improvement that derm also noticed.
@@olgabushak2942 oh I’m sorry, I was using the phloretin vitamin c serum from skinceuticals
Dr dray, please make a video on dupixent, I’d really appreciate it.
Speaking of expensive products please review Augustinus Bader!
I believe Dr. Shereene Idriss has done a review in one of her videos otherwise master esty Penn Smith Skincare does a comparison video between that and the Victoria Beckham line (that he supposedly helped formulate).
I guess this product is just an alternative for CEF. Some ppl with oil skin might find CEF too oily and sometime would break them out.
I was recommended this instead of retinol pre and during pregnancy
Ill stick to my Paula’s choice vitamin c cuz i can actually afford it, sometimes.
Awesome review!
Can you talk about SKINCEUCALS' A.G.E INTERRUPTER ADVANCED cream next time? Specially the ingredient proxylane?
Thank you!
thanks for watching
Well, you just saved me $190 ! Can anyone recommend a good vitamin c serum for oily skin? The ce ferulic was good but so pricey!!
I love the timeless vitamin c. Not sure how it will work for oily skin tho-
Klairs vitamin drop is a good one-i have oily skin too
Greek and gorgeous. $10 bucks a bottle but free shipping if you buy 3. One bottle last a good month. Put them in your fridge
Happy Thursday 😊 Love your channel I learned about my skin can you make a video about strevicta skincare ✨️
If you do a search, dr dray strivectin, you should find some videos. In past ones she's said it's pricey and usually full of fragrance.
Could you please make a video on body hyperpigmentation on areas such as buttocks, underarm for sensitive brown skin?
Dr. Alexis Stephens may have videos about body hyperpigmnetation for sensative brown skin.
She's got videos on fading dark underarms. And Dr Alexis Stephens definitely has a video on treating body hyperpigmentation.
I believe the vitamin X from regimen labs has silymarin in it as well as 15% l-ascorbic acid + c+ Ferulic acid and several other antioxidants I freaking LOVVVEEEE the vitamin x from them. My skin has never been able to handle 15% l-ascorbic acid til I tried that one and I’ve yet to have a reaction to it it’s so good makes the skin look amazing
vitamin X is a great product
I hate the tackiness of vitamin X. My face felt sticky, not in a moisturized way for the whole day. I couldn't finish it within 6 months and had to toss it after it turned color/went bad.
I wanted to love Vitamin X but it made me break out.
@@DrDrayzday vitamin X: can you review it?
@@catherineschafer2583 She's reviewed the entire regimen labs line.
Avene has a product called Comedomed (at least we have it in Europe) and their active ingredient is an extract from milk thistle seed, they sell it as an acne treatment. Would this product be comparable to the skinceuticals one? cause the avene one is way cheaper.
I’ve heard it’s almost an exact dupe
I'd check The Budget Dermatologist's video review of Avene as she goes over the Cleanance line.
My husband is been using milk thistle silymarin for years because liver issues. Seems to help him.
Btw your eyeliner looks great 😊
