"God bless the Internet."
Everyone deserves a dad like Jim's. He is a real one.
Also, I can't wait to watch all the sequels with you guys.
That' is TBR's real name, really? Jim?
I wonder how Dan Levy feels about his Dad in this movie.
Noah (Jim's dad) is one of the best fathers in all of fiction - especially once you hit the second movie.
Eugene Levy plays him with such wholesomeness. Even in uncomfortable situations, Jim's dad powers through in support of his son.
Hell, he's even great in the "american pie presents" dvd movies. Which aren't good, but are guilty pleasure movies for me. If i do a marathon of Pie films, i never skip them. Well maybe Book of Love. Noah is still great in that one though, so it's not THAT bad.
Keep it real homies 👍👍
Actually I Jim's dad is at his best in American wedding and American reunion
Exactly...he was always there for his son...no matter the situation. Jim's dad is a legendary film dad
Alyson Hannigan was originally offerred the role of Heather, but after reading the script wanted to play Michelle even though it was a smaller part. Michelle's "Say my name bitch" was ad-libbed by Alyson and the directors liked it so much that they kept it in the movie.
I'm a bit curious so I would love to see what she would've been like in that part, but between the two, I'm glad she played Michelle; Most fun character in the series (along with Jim's dad)!
What a shame these easy carefree times are gone. Couldn't make that movie today.
Love me some Alyson Hannigan!
She's gotta be a freak IRL, because she chose this role and it makes me wonder how much of herself she put into Lily Aldrin 😅
@@jasonsimpson1397She does have a famous "leaked" video.
Total nostalgic trip for me here. I was the class of 2000, so this was age appropriate for me. Plenty of good memories and dated humor here.
I'm much younger but heavy nostalgia for me too, I remember my friend got a hold of it on dvd (or vhs?) when we were 10 and hid it from his parents.
We thought it was the most awesome thing we've ever seen. I still remember that to this day.
Can't believe it's been so many years though, time flies..
Same here class of the New millennium
I was 05 but my best friends sister was 00 and I remember sneaking seeing this movie Damn you're not wrong talk about nostalgia 😂
C/O 2000 STAND UP!!!! 🤚🏽
Same. Class of 2000!
The movie is raunchy but it still has a heart and some warmth to it and isn't completely mean spirited.. it's a classic..
“A heart and some warmth!” 🤭😊
Some... few... very few.
Warm and sticky
I agree and I think that’s a key to a good raunchy film you can still be raunchy with the jokes and stuff but the movie gotta have heart
Jim's dad was the MVP father of the year. Probably my favorite character.
ROAD TRIP with Seann William Scott is hilarious
American pie 2, the wedding, and the reunion are all great sequels
I hope you guys continue with the series - American Pie 2, American Wedding and American Pie Reunion. There are other movies in the American Pie universe but those can be left out. The original 4 movies are all great with most of the same cast.
Band Camp was pretty funny
Whatever
@@rileydd08I thought Band Camp was good for a direct to video but the rest of the direct to videos were blehhhh
@@agarven1 i agree
Nah, beta house and naked mile were great.
"That almost made me throw up .. and I knew it was coming" haha .. the pun was not intended.
Jim being balls deep in an apple pie will never not be hilarious 😂
Most of these actors were relatively unknown when the movie came out. Eugene Levy was a well known conedic actor, and Allison Hannigan was already doing Buffy.
Natasha Lyonne was approached to play Buffy Summers, but she wasn't interested in doing TV.
Natasha Lyonne was a bit of an indie darling before American Pie, from Slums of Beverly Hills, and had like 4 movies out in 99. I was surprised she didn't have a bigger career after that stellar year, but she's still done some great stuff.
@@LordVolkov She had a drug addiction after "Pie" became a success (the film's producers surprisingly blamed themselves), but she recovered and got "Orange Is The New Black".
American Pie, American Pie 2, American Wedding, American Reunion are amazing and iconic movies.
I had a female friend ask me why the young men in her workplace were referring to her as Stifler's mom, she hadn't seen American Pie so had no idea how similar she looked to the actress/character. I got her to watch the movie, she laughed.
Shitbreak?! Is that you?!
Eugene Levy is such a hoot! The best and most awkward Dad ever. I think he’s in all the sequels too and just gets more and more awkward every time 😂.
Almost the entire cast (outside some of the adults) were essentially unknowns in the 90's, and the popularity of the movie single handedly launched most their careers. Especially for Tara Reid and Seann William Scott.
Not if you saw Rookie of the Year as a kid
@jona.scholt4362 all their careers boosted after AP, much more than anything else. They almost all had parts/roles elsewhere, but none that compared or made their names recognizable.
@@TheDigitalThreatbut it elevate the coming of age era
@@TheDigitalThreat For sure, I wasn't trying to disagree with you or be contrarian. I was just acknowledging that it was funny to see an actor from a movie I saw as an elementary school kid when it came out. And then a few years later, I'm in highschool, this movie comes out and I see him performing cunnilingus using a legendary manuscript. It was quite the 180.
But besides him, I don't think I saw any of the other actors in anything else before this. Although did American Beauty come out before this? I think it did. In that case I also remember Mena Suvari. She did have the most iconic image from that film after all.
Eugene Levey took awkward support to a new level ! I recommend Eurotrip as another great teen comedy.
Eurotrip is awesome
mi scusi! mi scusi! 🤣
Back in the day when it was released, when I was right in the target audience, it was the first and greatest "modern" teen movie. It had such a huge impact.
It felt edgy
Pretty much my all time favorite comedy series. You also gotta watch American Pie 2, Book of Love, Band Camp, Beta House, American Wedding, and The Naked Mile
Role models is such a good movie. Paul Rudd is pretty hilarious in that movie too.
I saw this in the cinema on release, and to say that the audience was surprised by Alyson Hannigan at the end was an understatement. Most known for Blossom and Willow Rosenberg, this was definitely a different type of character for her. She played it so well though.
Blossom?
@@TimothySmithsyeah definitely not Blossom.
Paul Weitz, who never directed before; Chris Weitz - his brother - who never produced before; and Adam Herz, who never wrote a screenplay before, have cooked up two hilarious hours of impure pow.
*Role Models* (2008) is my favorite SWS movie. So funny.
💯
Same. Haven't seen it since it came out tho.. Maybe time for a rewatch. But I remember it kinda touched me. Wasn't just funny
I rewatched it recently and not all that funny to be honest
Y'all should definitely do Goon sometime, if Samantha hasn't seen it. One of those amazing, flew under the radar type movies that just had me laughing the whole time. I've always liked Sean William Scott, but that solidified him as one of my favorite actors.
Love it! He's great!
He got really pigeonholed into Stiffler-esque roles for a while. I love seeing him flex his range in movies like Goon and Stark Raving Mad.
Yes, I'm glad you guys got the video back on the channel. This one time in band camp.
YES!!
FINALLY!
Copyright laws suck!
But it's Great to see your reaction to this crazy movie.
agreed. i gotta concider this ALL the time. i hate it.
Jim really does have a great dad, he just cares and always trys to be understanding.
It’s worth checking out the sequels, American Reunion was written and directed by the _Cobra Kai_ creators/writers/directors. :)
As I remember, 2 is quite good. Wedding is more of a 5/10 (for various reasons), and the aforementioned Reunion mostly gets things back on track.
Wedding is far superior to Reunion…
Seeing Samantha squirm uncomfortably was the best.great reaction guys!
This franchise has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. For being such raunchy teen comedies, they are also oddly wholesome and heartfelt Lol Hope you guys check out parts 2,3 and Reunion!
I was 12 years when this came out.
Iconic movie
Without question the funniest film I ever saw at the cinema. My friends and I were in pieces the whole film. Absolutely brilliant. What gets lost some times as well is the film does have a good message at its heart.
I can't really think of any other teen movie where they perfectly encapsulated just how nervous-sweaty teens can get. Jason Biggs is DRIPPING from his forehead in every scene he's in lol. Speaking of Shannon Elizabeth, she's excellent in 'Scary Movie'. Hope that and 'Not Another Teen Movie' are shown to Sam whenever you guys want to do a filler episode XD.
"Can't hardly wait" is a great one that encapsulates that as well..
@@supersizesenpaiEthan Embry is a nervous mess in that one 😅
@@LordVolkov Damn sure was. Apparently he was so stoned all the time that he barely remembers the movie. Lol
@@supersizesenpai 🤣🤣🤣 That makes a lot of sense.
@@supersizesenpai He was struggling through a drug addiction. So there's nothing particularly funny about that.
I saw this in the theater when it came out and the entire audience was dying laughing. So many likeable actors in this and still holds up to this day.
This is going to be fun.
I love Evoution! That´s why I use their logo.
I was in high school when this came out. Watched the shit out of it...crazy how iconic it was. Really nailed it with what it was like at that age lol
I remember it took me weeks to get someone to lend me the VHS
@@supastar25 luckily Family Home Video always had plenty of rental copies haha
I love this movie. Part 2 is also fantastic. 3rd one not so much, but it's still worth a watch. Jim's dad is the absolute best. He steals every scene he is in. Warm apple pie baby!! lol
I thought 3rd was good l saw a nd reaction channel really like the 3rd one l liked the 3rd one as well l thought it has some funny bits in it the stifler dance scene that was good
Don't forget Sean Williams Scott was also in the final destination, too
I was 14 when this was in theaters. I remember going to see it with my mom and little brother. We loved it and my mom spent the entire movie trying not to laugh at the jokes we barely understood.
Wow, she's either the best mom ever ...or the worst mom ever, depending on ones perspective 😂
@@ckobo84 She didn't know how bad it would be at first, but let it slide when she figured it out and realized we were fine with it.
@@John-ir4id I mean, other than the Nadia nudity and cursing...it's really not that bad. America is weird where nudity is so forbidden, but EXTREME violence is okay. Me and my friends were all just entering puberty when we saw this.
@@willvr4 I agree with you about America. But I would extend that to violence as well. I think it is a mistake and a shame that we hide the realities of life from young people and then wonder why we're all so ill-equipped to process trauma and the realities of life.
@@John-ir4id We actually never use to. Titanic has full frontal nudity in one scene and it's rated PG-13. Now you can't even drop the F bomb more than once before it automatically gets upgraded to Rated-R. (literally the rule)
It use to take a LOT to get an R rating. Although, funny aside ; my friend's parents as a kid took us all to see Titanic and demanded a refund (after watching the whole thing) because of that scene since we were only like 12 years old haha. They were super prude.
Now need to hit Part 2,
Surprisingly funny for a sequel!!
This one time at Bandcamp, I watched a reaction TBR SCHMITT and I loved it.
The sound tracks are ALL amazing but they give me sad nostalgia. The first film was elementary school the second middle school the third high and reunion the end of my childhood forever.
I remember I was a sophomore the year this came out and I snuck into the theater to see this when I had tickets to a different show, forever my favorite teen movie
I recognized there must be 2 different versions of the Apple pie scene. I just remember Jim naked with just holding the pie in front of his part "down there" when his dad rushes into the kitchen. Never saw him liying on the pie on the table 😂
the dad was clueless, he thought she said she was coming down for dinner, like she knew she was late and that he was coming to knock, a preempted "I am coming" he had no idea they had 6
I haven’t tuned in to you guys in a while - just watched this one. Can’t put my finger on what it is, but I really enjoyed Samantha’s contributions to the post movie evaluation more than in some of your older videos. She seems more… confident(?) than in prior videos I’ve watched months ago. This movie came out when I was in high school, so this one hit a big nostalgia button for me. Enjoyed your commentary!
*edit* just learned you guys are expecting! Congrats! Maybe that’s what it is? Samantha’s mom vibes shining through! :)
The first two American Pie films are phenomenal! I have preference for American Pie 2, especially as I got older and appreciated its message about coming back from your first year of college and realizing what's changed at the end of the summer. Also, great soundtrack!
I love Sean W Scott, I've seen him in Dude Where's My Car with Ashton Kutcher and The RunDown with The Rock.
I love this franchise. Please react to the rest of the American Pie series.
I love these movies so much you guys. Please do American Pie 2 as well. It is just as good as this one.
Loved the reaction guys. This franchise is so iconic and the 2nd film is my personal favorite.
A Streetcar Named Desire
An absolute must. Often viewed in college film classes
Gary the Tennis Coach is Seann Willaim Scott's greatest movie. I highly recommend.
LOVE the 90s soundtrack!!
You two are a blast to watch movies with as well as an adorable couple 💑 I really enjoy your videos 🙂
You can name your baby after me if you like 😀
Jim's dad is the best character in this series. And of course, Stifler's mom.
You guys should definitely watch American Pie 2, American Wedding (part 3), and American Reunion (part 4). They have most of the original cast members and continue the same storylines from the first film. The American Pie movies that were released afterwards (Naked Mile, Beta House, Girls’ Rules, Band Camp, etc.) are just spin-offs with completely different actors and different storylines. Although I think Eugene Levy is in some of them as “Jim’s Dad”, and some follow the character of Stiffler’s younger brother. Most of those films went straight to DVD.
This is actually the Unrated version. In the theatrical version Jim is using the pie while standing up in the corner.
I like how people always comment on this, like it's an important detail 😂
@@hissatsu4937 I like how you sound like an idiot but think your comment is funny.
STOPPING EVERYTHING TO FINISH THE REACTION THIS TIME!!!
Always cool seeing my local high school getting love! Movie is based on East Grand Rapids HS. The hotdog place is called Yesterdog. Awesome movie 💯
The beginning of the second movie with Jim is hilarious. 😂😅😅😅
One of my greatest cinema experiances: we were 5 or 6 guys, had already some beer and laughed all the time....
Thanks for mentioning Evolution because that’s an awesome movie, but I have two suggestions for you if you’re going on a Sean William Scott kick and those are Bulletproof Monk and The Rundown, of the two I prefer Bulletproof Monk but both are fun and kinda campy.
Road Trip
@@blechtic I don’t think I saw Road Trip
@@GoddessGirl2121It's very funny, with an American Pie level of raunch. But it does have Tom Green here and there, so be warned 😅
@@LordVolkov Thanks, I’m not a huge fan of overly raunchy movies which is probably why I haven’t watched it.
American Pie, 2, Wedding, & Reunion is my favorite series
Iconic movie, really excited to see you continue with these movies. They all have their moments and the characters continue to evolve throughout.
Jim's reaction was like that cause he did not expect Michelle to say what she said that is why he spat out what he was drinking at the party and l loved how how you think one thing in the classroom of what she says happened in band camp and says a completely different thing in the party which
Jennifer Coolidge is also amazing in Legally Blonde and The movie Click with Adam Sandler
This is my exact age. Natasha lyonne was really great casting because she had been in a bunch of stuff, particularly a film called the Slums of Beverly Hills with Alan Arkin. Marketing was such that if you hadn't seen that movie you still recognized her face.
Great soundtrack this is literally a quarter century old . Time flys
"...and I knew it was coming"
Pun intended? 🤣 This movie was THE movie of my high school years... everyone quoted it nonstop for YEARS. I mean, coining the term "MILF" was absolutely massive.
I hope y’all continue this franchise.
I remember watching this in a theater when I around 16. So good laughs all through this one. This was basically like the Fast Times At Ridgemont High of the late 90s/early 2000s. If you guys haven't seen Fast Times..., it's another raunchy teen comedy classic, with a young Sean Penn. Both movies captured the awkward teenage high school experience rather well for both of their respective eras.
American pie, American pie 2, American Wedding and American Reunion are definitely the best watches
I loved y'alls reaction to this movie y'all must keep watching the American pie movies! Keep it coming!
14:34 In a recent interview she said this scene made her career. Job offers like this came in at first but then more serious offers came.
Why is Shannon accepting this ?
🎶 Stifflers mom has got it goin on 🎶
I was 8 when this came out, I went to the theater with my dad and brother to watch this, 2 and Wedding. I was raised right 🤙🏻
This was great! Hope you guys continue the series…it’s so much fun.
Fun fact- if you look at the prom scene, you'll note that Great Falls High has a kinda crappy prom. The film makers did that on purpose. There were a lot of other high school films (like She's All That or the Hughes films to some extent) where the high schools have these amazing looking proms and the AP film makers wanted to show a more realistic end of high school dance.
The 2nd one is still my favorite of the entire series.
Yes. I was crying when they got busted in those girls' house. Even the guy playing Finch was struggling to keep it together.
Enjoy watching you two react to these movies. BTW, congratulations once again on the upcoming event. Excited for you both!
Even after all these years, this is still hilarious to me. I remember we ran into the theatre kinda late to watch this, and I was just a young teen at the time, no idea what we were really in for, haha. It is still really funny, and has a great cast and soundtrack, but I definitely agree too that times have certainly changed a lot. Hope you guys keep going in this series though, the second one is also really good :)
Jim's Dad is such a great character through all 4 movies.
I own all these on dvd sets. Big part of my childhood. I'm happy to enjoy these classics with you. So funny with heartwarming moments.
04:57 TBR Schmitt: "I mean, McDonalds Comes in a nice little sleeve already" .....🤣🤣 LMAOOO!!
You guys should watch The Graduate too, there is a specific scene in that movie that relates to this amazing movie
Funny I saw that scene yesterday for the first time randomly on yt recommended and now it clicked when I heard the words in this video. Never saw the graduate before so didn't realize the reference.
14:06 All these years, and I never knew how Jim was able to get it out there to everybody until now.
Looking forward to this reaction--thank you! Check out Bulletproof Monk too. It's got Stiffler and Chow Yun Fat in it. Great Hong Kong action theater style movie. 🙂
Great reaction as always. This is the unrated version as well, for those who didn't know., Side note, I live near the inspiration for the film's setting, that being East Grand Rapids where the writer, Adam Herz, grew up.
American Pie 2 and 3 are excellent sequels and Role Models is underrated.
The Rundown with Sean William Scott and The Rock was another great flick! One of my fav's of his!
Must watch the second one, the first two are the best!
Jim is amazing at playing the trombone.
Dude where's my car is awesome, sean william scott and the rock were great in the rundown, swean william scott was also in dukes of hazard
She should definitely watch "Dude, Where's My Car?"
Eugene Levy was in many movies with John Candy , and they both came from SCTV / Second City TV from Canada
This was the first rated “R” movie I saw in theaters at 13 and it will holds up 😂
Shannon Elizabeth and Sean William Scott were also in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
TBR with the “Goon” shoutout? Hell yeah! Great hockey movie.
Sean William Scott, Jason Biggs and Shannon Elizabeth all appear in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. But first you need to watch Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma.
