I think it’s the best comedic parting shot of all time. In the intro, before the reaction, when Samantha was getting all the Jim Carey movies mixed up, I was hoping so much that Daniel was going to LOVINGLY joke “You’ll have to excuse my wife. She’s a little slow.”
I saw this in the theater when I was younger, and this movie was the first time I thought I might actually die from laughter. I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Love it.
Sea Bass was played by Cam Neely, who played for the Boston Bruins. Really good forward whose career was cut short by injuries. He did an interview where he talked about the making of the movie and had a really funny story from it. When they filmed the scene where he breaks into the bathroom stall, not being a trained actor he wasn’t quite able to get the shocked reaction they were looking for. So Jim Carrey told him “don’t worry I’ll get this to work.” And when they did the next take, when he opened the door, Jim Carrey was mooning him. And his reaction to that was the take they used in the film. 😅
He plays a bit part in Me, Myself and Irene as one of the State Police that is only seen in one or two scenes. I think at the end when the proposal is made.
So many hilarious moments and lines in this movie, but one of my all time favorites will always be "WE GOT NO FOOD, WE GOT NO JOBS! OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!" Yes, Jim Carrey wanted Jeff Daniels because he wasn’t a comedian… Carrey wanted an actor to be his costar, not another comedian because he thought another comedian would just compete with him.
My father did NOT have this kind of sense of humor. He had a very bad case of brochities and he watched this movie alone one Saturday morning. The toilet scene sent him off his chair and I watched him laugh to the point of uncontrollable coughing and he passed out. Freaked the hell out of me. "T-=he... t-he..." - "The"... that line kills me every time. There is a Jim Carey movie that is really under the radar about comedian/ entertainer Andy Kaufman called The Man on the Moon which is one of my faves. Carey was so keen to land the role that he invited the Producers to his home where he played hours of Kaufman footage to them on his big cinema set up. It was a while before anyone realised that it was footage Carey had shot of himself playing Andy. It's a weird, small artsy film, but it touches hearts.

The stepmother was played by Teri Garr, who died just two weeks ago. She had a long and illustrious career, from being a beach dancer in the surfer movies of the 1960s to Young Frankenstein, Mr. Mom, Tootsie, Oh, God, and many other movies. It was nice to see her again.
Since you brought it up: a "Screwball Comedy" is a movie genre originated in the 30s. Bringing Up Baby (Cary Grant & Katherine Hepburn star) is the definitive movie of that genre (imo). "A screwball" always has fast-paced, witty dialogue with very farcical situations. They also have very over the top slapstick situations. I highly recommend "Baby" - both Cary and Katherine portrayed roles unlike what they are better known for. PS Just today, I had to REALLY pee but was waiting for my mom to get back to the car after shopping. My mind went to this movie, where the cop drank some of the "beer." How random! lol And, only recently has my friends stopped saying, "I like it a lot" like Lloyd said it to Mary. It was great to hear again!
An excellent and highly underrated Jim Carrey movie that a lot of people have missed is 'I Love You, Phillip Morris'. It is so good and my favorite Jim Carrey movie ever!
Glad you both love it so much Jim Carrey was incredible and funny Jeff Daniels was funny great duo You both should do the mask 1994 and liar liar What a treat
This movie is hilarious, but having seen it like 20 times I don't laugh out loud at it anymore. But TBR gently clearing his throat and repeating "She´s gonna leave the briefcase by the escalators!" made me probably startle my neighbors! xD Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden
Speed had Jeff Daniels play a character named Harry. Dumb and Dumber also had Jeff Daniels, who's also playing a character named Harry. And both movies were released the same year. Coincidence? I think not!
Dumb and Dumber is one of those all time classic movies like “Back To The Future,” “Jurassic Park” or “Forrest Gump.” I’ve seen it a million times, but every time I come across it on tv I always stop to watch it. My family and I still quote this movie all the time, to this day. I also have the picture of Harry on the toilet in my bathroom.
When the boys stop to eat at the diner and encounter “Sea Bass,” the movie Lloyd mentions to Harry about a dine and dash is actually “Something Wild,” which stars Jeff Daniels.
The original ending for this movie, Harry and Lloyd were meant to go with the woman but Jim asked for them to change it to the one we see because that'd be more in character. XD
My legit favorite scene is when Lloyd is trying to peak at Mary's butt when he starts to lift her dress up. The face he makes as he's doing it, and then the sudden switch when he stops is just so goddamn funny.
@nsasupporter7557 1. They already saw both of those or were you not paying attention during the video 2. You're also forgetting The Majestic and the best one IMO Man on the Moon
@@mikethemotormouth The Majestic was a massive flop… it’s considered one of the weakest Jim Carrey movies. It was a good story and plot, but the movie itself was boring as hell. I agree that Man on the Moon was good, but I’m not sure if they even know who Andy Kaufman is. If they don’t know who he is then they wouldn’t understand that movie
23:10 Rest in peace Teri Garr. The chipped tooth was real. Carrey always wore a cap over it. After this movie he had it more permanently fixed. I'm guessing for the sequel it was CGI.
In case you were wondering, the Swedish bikini girl said "Hej = Hi or hello" & "Hej Då = Bye". When she got older she became a Hollywood housewife & was married to Paul Anka.
Hello Daniel & Samantha!😊 Much of the Three Stooges comedy was considered slapstick. Great reactions to this well made comedy classic, Guys!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That's Jim Carrey's real tooth. It happened when he was a kid, and he convinced his dentist to remove the filling from the chipped tooth for the movie.
The big, tough trucker guy at the cafe…the “Sea Bass” character is played by Cam Neely, an NHL Hall of Famer. One of the best power forwards to ever play…and he was/is huge. 6’1” 230lbs when he played. A no joke, huge tough guy and hardcore player, who also scored a bunch. He was a huge star in hockey when this came out. He’s now the president of the Boston Bruins (the team he famously played for). These directors are huge New England area sports fans and they put a lot of star athletes (especially guys who played in the New England area in their movies in small roles.
I always hated it when my Habs had to go up against him and the Bruins in the playoffs during the late 80s, early 90s. At least we sometimes got the Sabers who were/still are pushovers 😊
Please consider Kingpin. It's another Farrelly's comedy that they did between Dumb & Dumber and There's Something About Mary, which was not quite as successful and often gets forgotten. However, it is just as great of a story and the humor is just as good, with Bill Murray giving maybe the most memorable performance of any actor in those films. It may be the most original of the 3 movies. Siskel and Ebert actually went out of their way to not just give the movie two thumbs up, but to actually talk about it during appearances and on bonus shows to try and help it get noticed.
There’s a UA-camr duo that replicated the journey on the little bike at the end. The video was pretty entertaining. Required a lot of work, and some replacement tires.

A fun fact the 2 guys standing outside of the convenient store were not actors they were just 2 regulars that were asked if they wanted to be used for that scene and they said sure and that's the scene we got
Cam Neely as Seabass is one of my favorite cameos. I have his Bruins jersey with Seabass instead of Neely on the back too.
“Hey guys! Big gulps huh? Alright! .. we’ll see ya!”

@SelectiveApathy82 You forgot Turbo Lax.
@@positivelynegative9149 "Onehalf tea-spoon for fast, effective relief"
One of the best comedies ever!!!! The diarrhea scene is one of the most iconic scenes in any comedy ever.
I came as soon as I heard.
TBR has such a fun sense of humor, he really is fun to watch laugh, he appreciates the dumb humor.😂
😅😅😅😅😅😅
Such a genuine contagious laugh! 🤣
@ -Agreed!!
Keep in mind, Jeff Daniels did Speed the same year as this.
And Jim Carrey did Ace Ventura and The Mask the same year as this.
Shows how versatile both actors are
@@daustin8888 Jim also played The Riddler in the next year's Batman Forever
They had their best years of the entire careers
My first exposure to Jeff Daniels was in Dumb & Dumber, and it was odd to see him do more serious roles in other movies
Jeff Daniels can do comedy and drama equally well. Jim can't do serious all that well. Truman Show was decent.
@@SelectiveApathy82 uh… yes he can do serious! He’s the only comedian besides Robin Williams that can pull off drama. The Truman Show is one of the best and iconic movies ever made
1994 was a great year for Carrey, this, The Mask and Ace Ventura. All hits at the box office
This Movie is a Comedy Classic Without Question
My favorite comedy of all time!
Samamtha: "sooo, I've never seen this movie..."
Jom Ross on commentary: "No, Schmitt. Don't do it.. Not the Pedigree!!!"
😂 😂 😂 😂
I watched this on VHS as a kid during a usual family Saturday gathering after raiding blockbusters with my dad.. Good times 😢
Jim. Not Jom. You jambrain.
27:07 'There's no way that's the end of that!'🤣 And gasping after hearing the toilet is broken!🤣🤣
Little FYI: Mike Starrr (who plays the bad guy Joe,) was also "Pooter the Clown" in Uncle Buck.
So many hilarious one liners.
"You'll have to excuse my friend. He's a little slow." Lol 😅
One of my all time favorite comfort movies, never gets boring. It's so 90's it transports me in time.
An excellent and highly underrated Jim Carrey movie that a lot of people have missed is 'I Love You, Phillip Morris'. It is so good and my favorite Jim Carrey movie ever!
"I almost like it" has to be the best line not spoken by the main characters.
I haven't seen this movie in about 15 years. I forgot Teri Garr was in this movie. Rest in peace Teri. The reaction was hilarious.
This is the 30th anniversary of the movie
Glad you both love it so much
Jim Carrey was incredible and funny
Jeff Daniels was funny great duo
You both should do the mask 1994 and liar liar
What a treat
This movie is reminiscent of Airplane. I love both comedies. These two both have nonstop jokes and a dangerous and realistic main story.
My brother and I quote this movie all the time! Greatest movie ever!😂
This movie is hilarious, but having seen it like 20 times I don't laugh out loud at it anymore. But TBR gently clearing his throat and repeating "She´s gonna leave the briefcase by the escalators!" made me probably startle my neighbors! xD
Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden
Speed had Jeff Daniels play a character named Harry. Dumb and Dumber also had Jeff Daniels, who's also playing a character named Harry. And both movies were released the same year.
Coincidence? I think not!
Boom Shack a Lak is the most British song ever made. A Punjabi from Birningham called Apache Indian singing Bhangra dancehall in a Jamaican accent.
Pullover! It's a cardigan 😂
The Three Stooges is often considered slapstick, due to the physical comedy. In their case, they are literally slapping each other!
10:02 "How the hell did they know that I got gas?" My favorite line 🤣
Aw you cut "That John Denver was full of shit!" 😆
Dumb and Dumber is one of those all time classic movies like “Back To The Future,” “Jurassic Park” or “Forrest Gump.” I’ve seen it a million times, but every time I come across it on tv I always stop to watch it. My family and I still quote this movie all the time, to this day. I also have the picture of Harry on the toilet in my bathroom.
Somebody probably already mentioned this but if Lloyd ended up with Mary she would've been Mary Christmas. 🤣🤣🤣
When the boys stop to eat at the diner and encounter “Sea Bass,” the movie Lloyd mentions to Harry about a dine and dash is actually “Something Wild,” which stars Jeff Daniels.
Speaking of Comedy, I recommend Anchorman 1&2, Ted 1&2, Austin Powers trilogy, Harold & Kumar trilogy, Naked Gun trilogy, The Hangover trilogy 😀👌.
The Hangover trilogy? sir..... there's only 1 movie there and that's The Hangover (2009) what came after are just unfunny forced copies
@@chrismeulen8108 not surprising, I’ve never seen those movies. They just never appealed to me
Wow good reaction to this Jim Carry Classic
The original ending for this movie, Harry and Lloyd were meant to go with the woman but Jim asked for them to change it to the one we see because that'd be more in character. XD
My legit favorite scene is when Lloyd is trying to peak at Mary's butt when he starts to lift her dress up. The face he makes as he's doing it, and then the sudden switch when he stops is just so goddamn funny.
An absolute classic! Thanks so much for watching this one. I totally wore out my vhs copy of this. Please watch The Number 23 starring Jim Carrey.
@@jrobwoo688 seconding Number 23
No, they need to watch Truman Show or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, those are the dramatic Jim Carrey movies that they need to see
@nsasupporter7557 1. They already saw both of those or were you not paying attention during the video
@@jrobwoo688 right 🙂
Unfortunately it’s not very well remembered movie despite him winning a Golden Globe for his portrayal as Andy Kaufman
From George Washington in "The Crossing" to Boris Johnson in this, Jeff Daniels always gives a great performance.
Jim Carrey & Holly Lauren started a relationship during this movie & were married a couple yrs later- For One Year !😊
Nah, it wasn’t even that long… their marriage only lasted 10 months I think
23:10 Rest in peace Teri Garr.
The chipped tooth was real. Carrey always wore a cap over it. After this movie he had it more permanently fixed. I'm guessing for the sequel it was CGI.
This is the 30th anniversary of the movie, did you know that?
@@nsasupporter7557 Nope
My favorite part is them ending up in Mississippi…leaving from Rhode Island…driving to Colorado 😂
In case you were wondering, the Swedish bikini girl said "Hej = Hi or hello" & "Hej Då = Bye".
When she got older she became a Hollywood housewife & was married to Paul Anka.
It’s so cute the way she says it
Hello Daniel & Samantha!😊 Much of the Three Stooges comedy was considered slapstick. Great reactions to this well made comedy classic, Guys!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My favorite moment was when Samantha exclaimed, "What!?" and Daniel repeated the line to her. 6:17 It was like the movie came to life.
Not a hockey guy, so I never knew.
I always hated it when my Habs had to go up against him and the Bruins in the playoffs during the late 80s, early 90s. At least we sometimes got the Sabers who were/still are pushovers 😊
I think he's about 6'4". In "Liar Liar" Jim Carrey gives his height as 6'2" when he describes the guy that beat him up in the bathroom.
😄👍
In Liar Liar, he's a lawyer. Does that ring a bell? 🤔
His kid makes a birthday wish...
Don't watch Kingpin. 🤢🤮
There’s a UA-camr duo that replicated the journey on the little bike at the end. The video was pretty entertaining. Required a lot of work, and some replacement tires.
I can't imagine taking on a 7% grade and freezing my ass off!
Very fun reaction, and very well edited!
