I have a 2011 crf450r I just got it and my uncle sold my bestfruend and room mate one of these bikes it’s the 93 too I love how it looks I’m definitely getting a plastic kit for my bike to match it
@@joshputt42 I’m almost 40 now and I did this when I was in my late teens. But if I remember correctly the 250 shock fit in the stock linkage but we had to compress the shock about an inch to fit. (we tried an old xr 350 shock but it was too big). Honestly I can’t remember but I think it was a 1987 xr250 shock and reservoir. And a 1990-91 front forks. The forks Had the air assist.. you could pump air in from the top with a shock pump and it really added a lot of height!! They were a direct fit to newer Triple tree and brake. For the rear all we did was loosen adjusters all the way off on the spring so we could compress the shock to fit.. then we tighten back up. I can email you picture if I can find one. It was about the height of an xr400 with the small frame of the 200. It was gnarly.
I am trying to recondition my 1991 XR200R. Can you please give me a recommendation as to where to find the blue decals and blue boots, and that 1991 seat cover?
Yep i sure can help. The blue decals are actually just cut out from a blue sticker sheet which i think i brought of eBay. The blue fork boots i bought at my local honda shop. You should be able to find all the parts you need on eBay, eBay great.

I had a 1982 model, and a 1979 twin shock model before that. They were great motorcycles.
They sure are
I have that bike currently just hard to find replacement parts for it
Just took on an 86 XR200 to restore and am loving it. It runs already and love the Honda engineering.
Hell yeah
That's a beautiful bike. I've had 2 100cc's and now have a 250cc but skipped this 200cc . Love the white
Thanks man. It took a lot of hard work to make those plastics white from the cream colour they were before😂
Awesome video! I'm about to resurrect my old XR-200
Thanks
Love the birdsong in the background
Means they approve
I'm getting a 1983 xr200 tomorrow cant wait!

They’re great bikes

Years ago i had. 97 xr200 with a xr250 rear shock and a early 90s fork. The later models they made the seat height lower and you lost a lot of travel
Was the ungraded suspension any good? Let me know because we are thinking of upgrading the suspension

Hahaha that sounds like fun! Could be worth doing haha
Used to have an 83 200R... great bike, just a little too underpowered for my liking. How does the 250 compare?
Cool! Yeah 200’s aren’t overly powerful but they sure are fun. The 250f has about double the power. It’s a really great bike
@@joshputt42 thanks!
No problem
