- I deleted the Mouse video by accident so I made this video with the second camera but be assured there are 5 baby mice in the air filter box of the xr250r the whole time.

I grew up on an XR80. The Honda XR bikes are great trail bikes because they are reliable, pretty lightweight, cheap to buy, and easy to ride. I'm looking to pick up a 250 or 400 for myself and a 200 for wife/buddy/backup bike - cant wait to get out and start riding again!

I' m more impressed with the old XR than the newer CRF ( never should have gotten rid of the XR designation) . IMO the difference was more the rider than anything else.
XR250R was a whole different animal than my XR200R; Almost double the power. Top speed wise they were only around 10 mph apart but the time spent getting there and overall power & acceleration was hands down better on the 250. Let’s not forget XR200R is the same old 2 valve 195cc they used in the the late 80s for the base XR200-it hasn’t changed. The XR250R is a 4 valve head, gets a free flowing header from the factory plus more cc’s. They make a ton more power. The last XR250R I saw on a dyno was in Sumo trim for stunt rides modded air box, UNI filter, 139 main jet, XRs Only exhaust. Made like 21 HP at the tire. My XR200R with PowerCore 4 system, modded air box, UNI filter and 114 jet made like 13 HP.
How tall is the 250 the same height as a full size or same height as the 200
honda said the atc 200 had 12.9 hp
I've been on both bikes but was only a passenger on the 200. My buddy got the 200R up to about 130kmh with me on the backseat and I only took the 250R up to about 100kmh or so.
The 200 was a '94 and the 250 was a '99.

Jory Mosshart that's what I was thinking. The 200 could have kept up so much better if he would have stayed in the high end. That engine doesn't do well in comparison to the 250 in the low end.

Do you think the xr200 is too small for me? would the xr250 suit me better i'm 6'3 and weigh around 150 pounds.
xr250 is a taller bike! We are both over 6 foot tall.

what happened to the kids nowadays? i sterted riding in the mid 80s and i dont now anyone who actually wanted a xr or any 4 stroke....sure, better than none at all, but the rush of 80 2 stroke when yer 10..... and then getting yer first 125, that first ride, when the powerband hits.... nothing else like it!!!
I ride 2 strokes as well, but the xr is a dependable bike....I own 2 bikes an Rm 250 and an Xr 200r one needs a top end rebuild can you guess which one?
I have a 95 XR250R, a 00 XR400R and an 01 XR650R. These bikes are legendary. The 650 is the stuff of nightmares, if you are not used to the power and weight lol. I had a choice between a mint CR500, or the 650. I took the easier to control option haha.
is a xr200r good for me in 5'9
The 84-85 is a taller bike and all the others are shorter. The guy who rides the xr200r (Mike) is 6' and he loves the height of his 85 xr200r at 35.6" the later xr200r seat height is 33.5" Mike feels those are too short. I hope this helps!

Better sit one it first! but I would think so, there are awesome dirt bikes! The one Mike uses is that weird 1985 model, it's much taller. Google the specs on a 2002 xr200r, the seat height is supposedly 33.5 inches, what do you think? :)
The xr200r is the gate way drug to being addicted to dirt bikes!!! Thats what's got me into it!! Greatest thing going! The honey badger of dirt bikes!

It was a hole in the muffler pipe, it's fixed now. It made it sound like a motor boat, haha. That bike runs awesome!
fix that ticking sound
Sorry it's the camera hitting the helmet. I'll glue some foam the the housing! hopefully that will fix that! It bothers me too! Thanks for watching!
