In this video I’ll try to comprehensively describe my ownership of the M2 over this time and give you my honest opinions. Hopefully it’s entertaining, informative and helps you out! Let me know any other videos you’d like to see. Thanks for watching! - Авто та транспорт
Thanks everyone for all the love, support and feedback on here or other platforms. So appreciated. I realise now the audio is crackly/ distorted whereas it wasn’t in the edit, sorry! As I learn more I’ll get better at this(hopefully)!
Just bought one !!
66 plate, 1 owner, 25,900 miles,
Love it.
At first it felt slow, and it is compared to my last car (an M140i with 455bhp/634nm), but the damping, the ride, the handling, and the steering wow, all on another level.
After 2 months, I find the seats are brilliant, absolutely perfect.
I think you need to lose a bit of timber son 🤣
If you think these are shit, then M2C seats will be even worse for you.
Just bought the 2018 LCI m2 in alpine white and absolutely love it. I drove back to back between this and the comp and they were only 1k difference in price and I just preferred the n55. Plus I’ve found a local set of damn near perfect m2c seats so I’m Gucci. Gonna be making 500-550whp which is more than enough for what I’ll be driving this for.
Just bought a 2017 LCI 130,000ks
Car is totally standard..
Love the thing, but seats would be a desirable upgrade..
@sishabadab6570 If you search hard enough you'll find a pair. I did and had them re done and am extremely happy I did. Now my car feels complete. We'll after my steering wheel, e brake and shift know are completed.
My biggest regret is not getting a manual! Awesome vid buddy
Ah thanks alot bro appreciate it!! And yeah manual was a deal breaker for me tbh but so happy with it🥰
Jesssssussss, you’ve fully made me miss mine the way you’ve explained and driven it 😢💥
Aha thank you bro appreciate it!! You’ll always miss it but you got a sick car still, you’ll be back in an M2 soon ;)
I agree with everything you said, I've just sold my m2 og after 3 years absolutely loved it no issue or reliability problems just brilliant, loved the way it made me feel, and yes everyone looks at it, there just brilliant, and I also think it's definitely the best looking car out there still today, I'm currently looking for a m2 competition or quite happy to get another m2 there just brilliant, thanks for the great video glad to see your back.
Thanks a lot for watching and your comment John, appreciate it! They’re infectiously fun arent they, hopefully you get into another soon !
nice video👍just got a gray OG M2 befor Christmas and really enjoying it..what a FUN car!!!
Ah thanks so much! You have great taste sir ;) seriously fun isn’t it! Congrats and enjoy!
Good to see another video from you.
Thanks alot buddy !
I agree with everything you said, i just got mine a month ago, 2017 with 25k miles, 6 speed manual in black, it has everything you want, comfort, looks, sounds(suprised with how nice and loud it was for a stock car), easy to drive, and great amount of power, obvi the only downside is the size, but if you're in the market for a sporty 2 door car that should be expected, i dnt plan on tuning it and i only want to modify the looks of the car, everything else is perfect in my book, glad you made this review , it confirmed everything i believed in!
Yeah absolutely spot on! It gets under your skin 😄 thanks for watching!
Great video! Yeah I hated the seats on my OG, got a good deal on comp seats, easy swap!
Can’t wait to get the money for that mod!
Really liking this channel. I like the more amateur take, not trying to sell me on anything, just the honest truth of how you feel.
One of my favourite comments I’ve had so far, thank you! That’s the kind of content I prefer watching. You may have helped motivate me edit the 2 videos in backlog 😂😂
@@CarMadElliot Doooo it! I want to watch them. I've been loving my M2 the 4 or 5 months I've had it.
Nice man!
thanks a lot bro! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video. I feel a similar way about my M240i. I know you had one of those in the past and didn’t like it so much but bear with me. Mine is a manual with a quaife limited slip differential, double res delete, lower offset wheels and mss height adjustable springs which I’ve kept at stock height. At some point I need to test drive an M2 just to see what I’m missing out on if anything at all. What I can relate to is having this small, useable vehicle that isn’t afraid to get the tail end out. Makes every journey an adventure and has a load of character. Feels like a completely different car to my previous 230i so I completely understand how an M2 would be a step up again. My conundrum is the fact that the B58 is technically a superior engine but I remain open minded. Great video boss, keep at it 👊🏾
Hey thanks for watching! Yours sounds heavily modded and bet that’s a lot of fun! Would be interested to see how it feels vs M2 , have a similarly modded m140 coming to channel which will be interesting.
We have very similar tastes! Thanks for watching
its a completely different car, the chassis feeling is stiffer than imaginable. If you care about speed or want a "superior" then get an M4 if you want to make power for days.
Beard looking strong! 💪
haha thank you! never get beard comments :P
Lovely job mate!
Great video
Your laugh kills me
Manual or nothing
Get it on a t-shirt!!!!
Haha thanks so much bro, love you 😉 maybe I will one day who knows
Good vid
Thanks alot mate!!
Hello from France, I like your M2, I have the LCI model in the DKG box.
Great, enjoy!
Great video! You can now get BMW AUC m2 comps (with comfort and plus packs) with less than 30k miles for £39k. Is that good buy compared to a OG m2…?
Thanks a lot! and yes that is a good buy! i'd reccomend test drive both and see which you prefer! :)
still love it Elliot?
Would you say that you can get the tail end wiggling and oversteer easily whenever you want to? Or only in the damp? I want it to feel really noticeably RWD and oversteer at normal speeds. I felt like the Cayman was just so planted and grippy it might as well have been AWD. I'm curious to see your video about why you didn't want the M2 comp. I do prefer the comp look but your car is sounding good! Noise is everything - I'd never consider the 4 cylinder Cayman.
Ah if that’s what you want then these are perfect for you as that’s what I wanted too. You can tell it to do whatever you want and it’ll do it. Either slide around and be stupid Or you can be precise and less childish, it’s such a good chassis and every opportunity to have it sideways it’s always so much fun.
In the dry it won’t just spin the wheels from traffic lights it has too much grip and not quite the power, but that’s fine, but it’ll still drift very easily. I’ve driven new cayman and agree it’s great, but very safe it’s annoying you can’t have your childish moments but also 4 cyclinder sounds nasty!
@@CarMadElliot Sounds great. I've only ever driven the 6 cylinder 981 generation and I loved the sound and the convertible experience but I didn't find it was really fun or exciting in terms of handling. I think it's more of a serious car and I'm not trying to win any races. I'm trying to have fun and excitement in normal day to day driving.
Is the F80 M3 / M4 very similar to the M2 in terms of fun and excitement or not?
@@MadelnMachines I would say they are different in that that M3/4 are quite spiky in their power delivery low down. The OG M2 is has linear delivery compared to the S55. When I test drove an M3 comp it wanted to step out even in the dry at times on the wonderful UK roads.
Recently got a manual one and can certainly relate to your reasons for getting one. What have you done to your exhaust as I may want a bit more noise in the future? Loving the car so far!
Good taste then sir ;) enjoy! Yeah it’s a great exhaust mod, it’s a few videos back - PCW exhaust mod. Nice and cheap but also really great noise and quality
What exhaust do you have ? Stock?
Sounds good !
Thank you
It’s a modified stock exhaust with the resonator / back box basically straight through. I do love the noise!!
potentially in the market for a bmw m2.. and saw your seamaster... i already got a seamaster... maybe its a sign?
Ahh hope you get it! Ha I’m not posh enough for a seamaster! It’s a Tag Aquaracer😜
I test drove a M2 comp s55 is only a bit faster in reality but sounds like dog shit, not worth it, N55 🤘🎶
Ah glad you agree defo my same thoughts! Thanks for watching!
lol your face at beginning....
Love my OG M2, but, so pointless in this weather - roll on summer that’s all I can say!!
Haha there’s still a lot of fun to be had in this drift lube season! But full grip and confidence in summer is another level
