Would you agree that the M2 is what the M3/M4 should be??? I feel like the M3/M4 has way too much tech and doesn't embody the spirit of the "M" badge completely.
The M2 is truly the spiritual successor to the E36/E46 M3. Almost identical dimensions and weight, but significantly wider and with torque that never quits.
This is super great to hear, and how you were driving and taking the corners compared to the Supra where you always had to leave something on the table in case the bump steer bites ya. I got an A90 and really wish I had gotten the M2 (and you have the proper color :)). Lots of buyers remorse because the intent was the car to by my next track car. I've been watching George's videos on the modifications and this has far more appeal than an M2 competition, because its cheaper and you can do more with it. Great video! I'll wait for Pancake in the next video.
@@brockb6 Misha explained earlier in the week during the M2 upgrade video. He said that they solid mounted the diff to the car. So now there is no rubber bushings to soak up the vibrations. Now these vibrations transmit freely into the cabin, effectively making the car sound like it has a racing transmission. He said later on that they will be stripping the car further, and the removal of sound deadening material will make it even louder in the future.
How do I make my car sound like this?? Every bimmer nut has wanted a car that sounds like the M3 GTR, IDC if it's impractical or annoying, I'll just turn the music up if I get sick of it

At first thought, I assumed the M2 was supercharged. But a diff whine like this is music to my ears also. The handling characteristics looked divine! A true M car in my opinion 🔥
I drove this very car not too long ago, in a very wet day... I found the car a bit “nervous” but nevertheless fun to drive. I’m pleased to hear about those improvements, it makes me want to come back and drive it again! 😁
Just bought one, a late 2016, DCT, 1 owner from new, 25,900 miles, in long beach blue. For a modern car, it feels so raw, mechanical, and is really balanced.

Great video Misha! Very nice to see the most "historic" of your APEX cars to get some upgrades. Much deserved! Why is the ESP indicator blinking that much? And did you update the Diff and DKG software to that of the M2 Comp? its a decent bump in performance from what I hear.
By now i'm pretty sure the industrypool guys have the exact same experience as you guys, be it with a bit more data.. but trying new kit, new setups, "taking it slow", hihi, that kinda thing. Great fun to watch though, thank Misha!
I still prefer this motor over the S58 in newer M3 because it sounds better thanks to no induction noise & more charismatic, lovely sound. Plus, I love the turbo lag of this engine as it pushes back in the seat when you slam the throttle while rolling. One of my favourite engines from BMW.
@@stephen300o6 They likely lowered the tire pressure for the track, which is below the TPMS threshold for the warning light. I wouldn't call it crying wolf; it's doing what it's intended to do for the OEM-recommended tire pressure.
The whine reminds me of the straight cut first gear on the old “new” Suzuki Swift, wish The NZ had it too! Ppl thinking “someone is really pushing it on reverse!” ;)
Those seats xD I think they are pretty much the same than in a 320d... With bucket seats this would give so much more confidence (at least it seems in the video).
Oh god i want a m2 sooo bad. Its beautiful looking, quick, sounds amazing and its still a practical daily driver. Too bad, that even second or third hand used m2 still cost so much. But i will get one, even if i still would have to wait 5 or more years... :)
The M2 is hands down my favorite M-Car. I may be biased since the M2 Comp is the only M-Car I've ever driven so far, but for me the M2 just embodies the M-Spirit - Lots of fun to drive, not to big (*cough cough* new M4/M3) and plenty of power. If I ever have enough money I will definitely get an M2 Comp and get it upgraded by Philipp!
@@mariomunoz7167 I’ve owned both an OG & Comp; much prefer the OG, as it actually feels like a proper successor to the 1M. The M2C blew me away with its performance and I turned it into my ‘daily-track’ car, but the OG just felt a little less artificial and more dangerous, like a 2-door Giulia QV, where I’ll admit the Comp kinda held your hand a bit. Also those intake noises. My god that N55 sounded good (had a Remus exhaust and Eventuri intake)My S55 had an Akrapovic exhaust and also an Eventuri but just didn’t compete. However, down to personal preference.
Wasn't really a fan of the M2, kinda went off BMW but your M2 has reignited my liking for it, definitely a car worth working on bit by bit....Full Schirmer conversion would be unreal

Car is the correct size, engine at correct orientation, drive at the rear, no to heavy... True 6 cilinder engine... Yeah, no wonder why it is such a succes! And every tweak in the world avaible right now.

Why is the Diff screaming though? Straight toothing of the bevel gears? Every OEM differential has that and they are not that loud.

@@AKK5I the GTR has straight toothed transmission gears which make that noise as far as I know.

I don't think anything cries wolf so often as a tyre pressure light.
