Great video reviewing the Sofirn SC32! At the time when I ordered one from Sofirn's official store, the Nichia 519a HCRI variant was not available. Heck, Sofirn never seem to replenish their HCRI stock ever since! I suspect that Sofirn was experimenting with the 519a and those who chose it were flashlight enthusiasts, rather than the average buyer. I have a few flashlights with the Nichia 5000K 519a LED - it's not really as bright as the 6500K SST40 but the tint is more pleasant to the eye. Cooler LED temps mean a higher luminous efficacy (lumens/Watt) and pushes more lumens. 🙂 Thanks for explaining winning the "SST40 lottery" though. I can relate to this, as I have a SC31 Pro with an unpleasant muted yellow/green tinge, as I've also bought the cheaper Sofirn SC18 that emitted a pure 6500K white for an odd reason. My SC32's beam isn't as white as the SC18's, but then it isn't as bad as my SC31 Pro. It's confusing since the SC31 Pro, being an Anduril 2 model is supposed to be a more upmarket model was fitted with lower quality SST40s. 😞 On the other hand, Wurkkos appears to use SST40 emitters from a higher quality bin, though. My SC32 is my go-to flashlight at home (although I own 29 others) and it's the _shortest_ tubed 18650 light that I have, until I bought the Wurkkos TS10 Max. 🔦☺ I do wish that the SC32 has a beacon/SOS mode to accompany the tactical strobe mode, though. I think having these modes are possible, since it usually needs two clicks to rotate amongst strobe/SOS/beacon while the light is in the strobe mode.
The SC32 is my favourite flashlight of the dozen I own. The field is superb for average use, the actual use is great, the hold is comfortable, and it is rugged. The colour is excellent if you appreciate a daylight -like beam. This is all for the 5000K led. Easy recharging. Get one.
Thanks for the review! Does Sofirn discontinue products often? I’m thinking about getting another one as a backup unless there is something out there better for the price.
I dont think they discontinue products very much, sometimes they make a "pro" version of lights. The SC32 is still my go to EDC light. I personally havent found anything that can beat it for the price, size, runtime, and general ergonomics.
For the SIZE, it’s awesome! You can swap out batteries as needed when camping, and it’s moonlight mode makes a great nightlight or is useful when you need just a little bit of light and not be noticeable or ruin your night vision. I think it’s like a half lumen. I also bought an SC33, a 5200 lumen light that is like the SC32’s big brother. If you like yours, you’ll also like the Wurkos (spelling?) TD02.
On the standard version (SST-40) the tint of the emitter comes down to the binning. Its like a lottery. If you get the HCRI version it should have a good tint with 519A no matter what
@@KYROandHisThings - Thank you, But isn’t that the lower powered version? I’d rather have a yellowish tint 2000 lumen flashlight than one with a whiter tint but not as bright. I think I’m living with this one until I can learn more. 👍🏽😎
@@KYROandHisThings I just compared them side by side. FC12 does blow the TD02 out of the water!! The SFT40 is more powerful than the SST40 and that's probably why. I can't wait until they make a SFT40 in warm white.
I recently bought a TD02 myself, and love it! It has a slightly more focused beam than the SC32, but the 6 modes are perfection. I also bought a Sofirin SC 33, a 5200 lumen light, and it is also exceptional!
I just bought one too, love it! Incredible battery life, I camp for a week, and the flashlight was used and lasted all week, despite being on 24x7. Granted, at night it was in low candlelight mode, it still had 3.1 volts at the end of the week.
The turbo runtime is rubbish, youre better of with a lower lumen and more CD. Thers one that last 4 minutes on turbo, i forgot if it was Nitecore, but a quick blast for a few seconds, fair play, but the drop down is horrendous on some. From 2000 some drop to a few hundred lumen after 40 seconds. No thanks.

@@Erin-Thor Yep you're correct, your version has higher output.
Is your light the SST40 or the HCRI (519a)? In my experience high CRI lights (lower K temp) all have a yellowish (warmer) tint.
I just ordered Wurkkos TD02 and the FC12 both were $20. Well the td02 was $20.99
I'm definitely interested to hear what you think about them. I think the FC12 outclasses the TD02 pretty much everywhere.

Sofin is a good cheap flashlight. I have the Sofin Q8
