Just bought the Sofirn sc32 and edc it over my old Zebralight sc600 mk 4. The usb c on the sofirn did it for me. Not as great a beam as the zebralight but overall the Sofirn is better ie. UI and usb c built in.

SOFIRN : Some Other Flashlight I Really Need

I bought the SC32 due to your original review, honestly still great light though the tint is a bit green on the moonlight mode. I don't do any work that requires myself to need the High CRI but it is nice that it's being offered by sofirn. Now I would love a SFT40 emitter.

I have gut feel Sofirn will make a 'Pro' version of this sooner or later. The mere fact they put an e-switch means they are pretty much testing the waters on the form factor of the SC32. I do believe they listen to the market pretty well and respond to it in a timely manner, much like how their sister company, Wurkkos, does (e.g. Wurkkos will be releasing a Titanium TS10 with proper RGB aux lights after seemingly high amount of fan requests). So it might just be a matter of time until they announce an SC32 Pro for those (like me) who want an Anduril 2 for it.

Thanks for your review. I bought a Sofirn SC31T Pro several months ago. I like that it has the choice of the simplified or full Anduril 2.0 UI. It has both a tail switch and a side switch. Compared to the SC32 it's about 2/3" longer and it lacks the high CRI LED.

I have one of these. I don't use it very often (I use my SC21 Pro most of the time), but it rides in the front zipper pocket of my Husky lunch bag where I have it nearby most of the time. Smaller and 1/3 the price of the Warrior Mini, it is also not cursed with the Olight's proprietary battery.

Imagine if Sofirn added a tail switch and a 519a to the SP10 pro. It would be unbeatable for the price.

Been using the standard SC32 for about a month at work. I wanted something that lasted a long time and had a tail switch so I switched from my Fenix E18R V2. The Fenix is a great light but with a limited runtime. The Sofirn has been great to use: cheap, so I don't worry about banging it around, tail switch is very user friendly, I mostly use the low mode so long runtime there. This light doesn't need moonlight, turbo, or strobe. Those aren't useful in an EDC or work light, but they also don't get in the way on this one. I've found two cons so far: the clip is the wrong way round if you want to clip it to your hat, which I do and my coworkers have done when borrowing it; the skinny side of the clip is the one that clips on the hat and its just not roomy enough (unlike the Fenix). The second con is the thickness. It's not bad but it's a bit thicker than my Fenix or, more comparably, my Baton 2, so holding it in your mouth is more uncomfortable than usual. A slightly more focused beam would be appreciated also.

If it had the changes you suggest AND the Andruil 2.0 I'd pay $60, here's why. Not only do you get that programmability, but also with a removable cell you can keep this for years and years without worrying if the battery is going to die. Yes $60 is high however if I can turn this into basically any flashlight I need up to it's top lumen level it's worth it. I just ordered an SC13 as a backpack light and without the battery(I have a very nice branded 18350 already)it came to $21.57 Canadian or about $17 USD with free shipping. I've seen some lumen tests with it and it's almost dead on with their claims at the different output levels, except the 150 setting it was a little higher at 179 lumens. It has a simple UI which is suitable for a quick bikepack light or lending out, a 500 lumens high and a 1300 lumen turbo, which to be honest for such a small light is kind of overkill but I guess it's better to have it than not. Sofirn is definitely one to watch I think in the future I think. Excellent video, thank you.

I find the light is a bit yellow, minor I know but it kinda bothers me. Other than that, excellent and well designed. It’s shorter and lighter than others in the same 2000 lumen class. The moonlight mode is surprisingly useful! My wish’s; a hole to attach the included lanyard as there is none, a focusable lens, and a magnetic end-cap around the button. For those curious, yes, I’ve bought several as gifts, and would buy again.

Thanks for all this! I just received it in the mail. I really like it, the looks, the feel, the great UI that allows quick access to turbo, moonlight, and last level.
Unfortunately, it's too short for me to easily access with winter gloves on.
Would you, or anyone else reading have a suggestion of another flaslight I could consider? Thanks!

  • @brandonlee8582

I may of missed it. But I don't think you mentioned the throw of this light doesn't even come close to the warrior mini 3. It's quite floody. I have the older version (not sure if it's the 4000 or 5000) and I do like it very much. Just not comparable to the Warrior Mini 3 IMO. It's something to grab if you don't need the throw or you want to carry a slightly smaller light. Well worth the money though. Also may want to look at the SC18 at less than half the price of the SC32... that's an even better bang for your buck in terms of size/output alone. No tail switch and a terrible clip... but I've noticed it doesn't get nearly as hot as the SC32 and the Warrior Mini 3.

Don't think the expensive Olight is hi CRI? Didn't know you could make the lockout thing an instant momentary turbo which might be a sort of tactical thing but Anduril 2 doesn't allow you to go direct to turbo from off except in momentary but the sc32 does and Anduril 2 needs a double click to go back to the original mode form turbo but it's only one click with the SC32 so the all signing and dancing Anduril 2 does some simple things badly and cannot be changed despite all this ability to program everything you hear so often. I'm fine with it not having Anduril but I just bought 3xSC21 that are now coming with Anduril 2 loaded but still with an Anduril 1 instruction manual but I guess it will sort out eventually. Was impressed with the output of the SC21 and the Samsung emitter is nice also. Both good affordable non proprietary (I hate that) lights from Sofirn.

@@maxlvledc Yes. Yes I know, I have read the specs. But as you know, specs vs in person usage is often different and most lights don't match perfectly to manufacturer claims. So what I meant is, does it appear significantly brighter in person? And is the better tint worthy of choosing it over the cooler white version. Thanks.

Yours is a great light with its own advantages. Losing a third of your lumens isn't a good trade for most unless perfect shades of color is a must for you. Not worth returning in my opinion unless you have the 6500 cool white.

Olight is just a super up charged Chinese manufacturer with a lack of emitter choices. People like to pretend olight is an American company but it's not, it helps them justify that insane mark up and lack of actual options that matter, like emitter choices, cri, and color temp. I'll take a sofirn over an olight every single time, infact I haven't touched my olights in a very long time.... Just not a fan of that green or blue hue I get from them.
