I make the melt n pour for myself and family bc I’ve got very sensitive skin and most store bought kinds give me an itchy rash. Having thin sharp nails (even if they’re nubs) sometimes it’s hard not to scratch and I end up with scratches. Unsightly 😒😬. Haven’t had a problem with it at all. I’ve also bought some of her soaps and they’ve been great too. No irritation.

I'm so glad you mentioned the re-heating of MP... that's something I learned the hard way when first learning to make my own embeds for my CP soaps. I noticed re-heating my base didn't just affect the quality of my embeds, but it also made the base itself less workable when pouring into intricate embed molds (re-heated base just doesn't behave as well!). So I never never never re-heat my base anymore, but this is GREAT info for those beginning their journey in embed-making! Thanks Katie for such an informative video!!

For the column mould, I like to clip the edges with bulldog clips at the height of the container I'm using which is usually a glass measuring jug, and slide a chopstick through each clip so it stands up in the jug :) I'm not sure whether I learned that one from Soap Queen or figured it out on my own, but it works!
I'm guilty of reheating my soap batches. I haven't found the sweating to be over the top (I'm working with a clear SFIC M&P base that sweats), mostly because I'm only doing M&P and not CP/HP, so I have to wrap up my bars as soon as I unmould them. I think I'm doing okay for a beginner!

1st- THANK YOU for the Royal Creative Academy series!! I’m so excited to make my first batch of soap!
2nd- Thank you for mentioning that this can also be done with CP. Like I said, I’m a total newb, and if I have more batter when I make my first batch of soap than my soap molds can hold, I was planning to pour off the excess into some of the numerous silicone ice cube molds that I have for tiny soaps ... then wondered if they could be used as embeds for a future soap batch instead!

I have discovered something that is easier to use other than the pipettes. I’d like that with everyone!
I have livestock on my homestead.
It dawned on me the syringes I use to medicate and vaccinate with are easier to use, easier to clean and easier to measure! Also using the non slip vs the lair lock is also easier to use and clean! I hope that helps everyone ❤️

Hi Katie. Could you do a video on how to make the soap frosting?

When I use mica colorant, I mix it in alcohol first and then pour it in my melt and pour mix.

I am learning such usefull information from your videos even tho I never ever made a soap before, but it looks like a great homemade thing I would love to try :-) I have some silicone chocolate molds, hopefully I will find some DIY shops here in middle europe, sadly we dont have any of those shops you are talking about here

Katie, just a thought: I don't like to use glycerine soap embeds because I don't like having a huge list of ingredients on my bars, especially if it's craft store melt and pour. That's information I have to track and update my labels. So while it might save time in the crafting, I am not sure if saves time in the labeling department. When you use CP for your embeds, it's the same as your recipe and you wouldn't need to add additional label information.
Thanks for all the handy links to the molds!!

What a great video! I'm a resin crafter, not a soap maker, but a lot of the information you shared still applies.
