🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ we did a saponification lab during my first year gen chem lab lol. It didn’t smell good though and didn’t sudz up. We used vegetable oil
I make the melt n pour for myself and family bc I’ve got very sensitive skin and most store bought kinds give me an itchy rash. Having thin sharp nails (even if they’re nubs) sometimes it’s hard not to scratch and I end up with scratches. Unsightly 😒😬. Haven’t had a problem with it at all. I’ve also bought some of her soaps and they’ve been great too. No irritation.
Hi Team Royalty Soaps. As an inexperienced soap maker, I'd like to request a "clean up" video. I'm sure you have some excellent tips and tricks for cleaning up more efficiently. Thanks. :)
@@lampychickYes! Lol If you let them sit they turn to soap and wash themselves so to speak. The downside is if you need to make soap again before that happens... lol
I'm opening my own sop shop due to the fact my anxiety has become so bad I've found myself unable to show up to jobs I've been accepted to. I just wanted to say thank you for not gate keeping and educating us you are an amazing soul and you deserve the absolute world!
I'm so glad you mentioned the re-heating of MP... that's something I learned the hard way when first learning to make my own embeds for my CP soaps. I noticed re-heating my base didn't just affect the quality of my embeds, but it also made the base itself less workable when pouring into intricate embed molds (re-heated base just doesn't behave as well!). So I never never never re-heat my base anymore, but this is GREAT info for those beginning their journey in embed-making! Thanks Katie for such an informative video!!
Just the love of a professional soapmaker sharing their secrets so openly and wanting others to succeed as well makes me tear up. It's so beautiful, I feel so welcomed as a new soap maker.
No-one on UA-cam has passion and care for their craft as much as you do, let alone is willing to share their knowledge and teach others about it. It's great to see!! 💙
I got myself some melt and pour soap bases a while ago to play around on the side but watching all these beatiful soaps being made makes me wish I could do soaps full time :D I make some just to use as gifts and it is enough for now, but man, soap making is an art all in itself. Thank you for sharing the beauty with us.
I have no plans to make soap but I have watched every one of your videos and have been falling asleep to them for like 2 months now. Just such a nice voice to fall asleep to!
I went to school for pastry arts and we used a lot of the hard plastic chocolate molds. The rigid nature of the mold is really good for getting air bubbles out when you make little chocolates! I miss doing that 😔
I don't make soap, and too broke to buy soap, but I love watching you make it. And I love watching then EXPECIALLY to go to sleep, because I enjoy your content so much, it helps me relax after a busy day with my 10month old.
@Royalty Soaps it has taken me 3 tries to watch this video. Not that it’s boring and anything like that. Your channel is just so calming and relaxing to me. Keep making pretty things.
Katie! You’re so so so good at teaching your process, I love learning all sorts of useless info and you’re excellent at planning and giving us all the information we could ever possibly need to make it in the soap world. You’d be an excellent teacher!
Hi Katie. I'm from Shropshire in the UK and I think your channel is fab. I love watching your soap tutorials all the time and you are an amazing person with a great sense of humour. Don't ever change. I've made a few simple soaps myself but you have inspired me to take it to the next level in the new year. Exciting. xxxx
You have inspired me to start soap making as a hobby. I've been watching your videos for awhile now and am feeling confident enough to start. I've drawn a few designs and will be collecting materials over the summer. My first pour should be in late September. Already supper excited. Also I will definitely tag you on instagram when I post pics of my first batch.
After ALL the researching and ALL of the UA-cam DIY videos on soaps, you are the ONLY one I have found that has literally explained the soaps in the Melt and Pour methods and which are best for what! Had I found this sooner, I would have purchased more than 1 clear melt and pour soap! lol I will now have a multitude of white! haha That's okay~ I'm sure it will still look okay in the end~ *I hope* lol Thank you SOOOOOO much for your time in making all of these amazing videos and tutorials~ ❤️❤️❤️
All of your videos are so helpful! I have applied a lot of your techniques to my own business, that has nothing to do with soap! I make my own planters out of a cement like product and incorporated the "drop swirl" technique the other day in some new marbled pieces :)
For the column mould, I like to clip the edges with bulldog clips at the height of the container I'm using which is usually a glass measuring jug, and slide a chopstick through each clip so it stands up in the jug :) I'm not sure whether I learned that one from Soap Queen or figured it out on my own, but it works! I'm guilty of reheating my soap batches. I haven't found the sweating to be over the top (I'm working with a clear SFIC M&P base that sweats), mostly because I'm only doing M&P and not CP/HP, so I have to wrap up my bars as soon as I unmould them. I think I'm doing okay for a beginner!
1st- THANK YOU for the Royal Creative Academy series!! I’m so excited to make my first batch of soap! 2nd- Thank you for mentioning that this can also be done with CP. Like I said, I’m a total newb, and if I have more batter when I make my first batch of soap than my soap molds can hold, I was planning to pour off the excess into some of the numerous silicone ice cube molds that I have for tiny soaps ... then wondered if they could be used as embeds for a future soap batch instead!
Hi Katie! I'm from South Africa and I love your videos. What are the chances that you could do a orange and chocolate soap? When you have time that is. Thank you for your wonderful content!
I love at 1:20 when Katie is slowly resisting the urge to put her fingers in the holes of the yellow mold. I was sitting here like DO IT. I do it all the time with my resin molds I can’t resist
