Here after royalty soaps recommend you, and honestly, I don't make soap, but you just sound like a really kind person, which is kinda rare on the internet, so I just love watching your videos.
Can you show the lather of your soaps after you make them.... It would be a really nice addition, kind of how you show the bath bombs fizzing, for new customers who are unsure how your melt and pour lathers. ☺
I add a small amount of coconut oil, it helps with the lather with the base I use. It also makes it smell GREAT. I use soap colouring, NEVER use food colouring. When using mica powder find one that in corperates well and never use craft glitter. When using molds try to find one that dosn't have little details as sometin=mes it wont come out XX
Thanks for sharing this info. Im just trying out melt and pour, and wanted to ask -- have you found any workaround for adding more oils and putting botanicals and embeds in a way that it doesnt spoil?
Thank you so much for making this video! With all the information that is available online it's hard to determine what is accurate and what isn't. You are one of my go to trusted sources for information (and trust me when I say that I research until I'm cross eyed)❤ this was very helpful and informative. I find that I always have very specific questions that I end up having while I'm making something and never have anybody to ask to find answers. In this video I found some answers to some of those specific questions! Thanks again and God bless!
I have started out my soap making journey using melt and pour. It makes it so easy to be creative, doesn't it? The last soap I did was sushi inspired, so the little bars of soap looked like pieces of sushi. Went down well as a gift anyway! Thanks for sharing your tips ☺
I love all of Bramble Berry melt and pour soaps. My favorites are the goats milk soap, the hemp, the clear and the basic white. I love making soap and enjoy watching the videos. Thank Anne Marie for such a great products and teaching! 💕💜
I do wonder, as we are trying to minimize the usage of plastic, do any of u guys think or maybe tried wrapping it with wax paper? My concern is the sweating, will it still have the glycerin dew or sweating?
Hello, I am about to start creating melt and pour soaps. I am aware it's not advisable to use pyrex for cold process soap. However, can I use Pyrex measuring cups for melt and pour soap making?
Could anyone help me please. Made my first melt and pour soap today. It smells glorious as it is, however it leaves a weird smell on the skin. Glyceriny, weird, can't describe. I can't smell my oils on my skin at all. What can be the reason?
Thank you for the video. I have a one question that I couldn't find answer for: Is my microwave still food safe after I use it to melt the soap, or do I need to deep clean it before I put my food in?
Melt and pour soap is just soap, so it's not dangerous. (It's not like the sodium hydroxide used to make cold process soap, which is dangerous until it fully reacts with oils to form soap.)
Your videos are always so wonderful to watch ! The soaps turned out beautifully ! Thank you for sharing ❤️! I can't find any alcohol everywhere is sold out ! what can be used instead, to pop bubbles and help the layers stay together?
Thank you! To help prevent sweat on melt and pour, the bars can be wrapped tightly with plastic wrap after they come out of the mold. We have an article with more tips available here: www.brambleberry.com/tips-and-tricks/soap/art0010-explaining-and-preventing-glycerin-dew.html
Hi Anne-Marie I wonder if you could help me with something- could I lower the ‘ph’ balance of a melt and pour soap base by using citric acid....? Or could you advise me what would be best to use. Also do you have Bramble Berry stockists in the UK? Thank You 🌷
Hi. I recently started making melt & pour soaps. I use the johnsson brand. I have started with the clear base. I use 2 different sets of essential oils and liquid colourants. My question is: after a few uses, is the soap meant to lose it's colour?. Also how do you make it so that each time you make the same soap, stay the same colour?. Xx
Is there a place where the best temps m & P are listed. Highest temp before it's bad. Best temp for colorants (mica, color blocks, food coloring) best temps for essential oil, fragrance oil, etc. Best temp for what I didn't cover in this ?
I've tried to do swirls but if I let my mp cool down I am constantly getting a skin on top of the soap. You don't mention anything in your video about the skin that forms. in saying that if you remelt then the soap is too hot to pour.
Hey Hun. I have my own soap company, Haus of La Luna (@thehausoflaluna) and I do M&P projects. I would suggest to spray just a bit of rubbing alcohol at the top where the skin is formed. That will seperate it and not create that skin. Just two spritz. Nothing crazy. Hope you have fun and check me out on Instagram 😉
Do not use fresh flowers i dont think dried flowers either. Your best bet is probably soap flowers . Dont listen to me though justvin case look it up 😁
My issue is when I do melt and pour is when I do a clear with an embed over time that embed blues until you can't even tell what it was . How do I stop that?
What if melt and pour embeds are sweating in the CP soap? Can I wrap it up before it’s been cured for at least 6 weeks? M&P were made about 3-4weeks ago but they still sweat 😥
Hi Anna Marie, I loved all your videos so much that I have started my own cold soap making. I request you to send me recipes for oils such as Safflower oil, Sunflower oil, Ground nut oil, coconut oil and sesame oil since these are the oils readily available to me locally. I will be grateful to you if you can share some recipes for the above mentioned oils. Thanks, Vijay
After making the soap it takes about 6 weeks for them to be ready to use. The pH will not be a problem if you are using a lye calculator and measuring accurately.
I'm just starting to make my own soaps and toiletries for my B&B to get rid of all those single use plastic containers. Thank you for all the advice, i need it! lol Have a great day. x
You can use a double boiler on the stove. I'll do that if I'm making a bigger batch because I find all the soap doesn't melt consistently in the microwave without stopping constantly to stir. Just put an inch of water in a pot and then a glass or metal bowl on top that doesn't touch the water. Heat the water to simmering and pop on the bowl with the soap. The smaller you cut the pieces the faster it will melt. JUST DON'T FORGET THE BOWL WILL BE HOT! I've also hung a measuring cup over the edge of the pot, but you really have to watch that. Good luck. I hope that helps you.
Please please reply! I've been making melt and pour soaps lately and I've been attempting marbled look, but my soap base gets a kindof skin on the surface, and I've had two failed attempts at it. Idk what to do
If the melt and pour bases are forming a skin before you pour them into your mold, you can heat them for a few more seconds and stir. This should dissolve the skin back into the soap base.
You can find our easy pour containers on our website here: www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/tools-and-accessories/containers/easy-pour-mixing-and-measuring-container/V000054.html
We recommend mixing both charcoal and titanium dioxide with alcohol before adding it to the melt and pour base. You can premix and store it, though you will want to give it a quick mix before adding to your batch to ensure it is all still homogenous.
We offer a great variety of kits on our website here: www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/kits You will often need a few additional thing such as heat-safe containers and stick blenders, but our kits have almost everything you need to start making bath and body products.

I just started my interest in melt and pour soap and this is by far the best video I've seen so far. Thanks for sharing!

Your latest soap you posted on Instagram is stunning, the black and purple and the glitter and the moon indent really compliment each other.

I do wonder, as we are trying to minimize the usage of plastic, do any of u guys think or maybe tried wrapping it with wax paper? My concern is the sweating, will it still have the glycerin dew or sweating?
it doesn't sweat if you wrap it in wax paper that is what I do
Hello, I am about to start creating melt and pour soaps. I am aware it's not advisable to use pyrex for cold process soap. However, can I use Pyrex measuring cups for melt and pour soap making?
@Just a Peach
This is probably waaaay too late but pyrex is totally fine and my go to container for melting my soaps in.
@@moleholedotcom thank you
Fine !, then when do i add the alcohol to surface to prevent the bubbles ? Immediately after pour ? Or when its cooling down ?
After the pour
How do you properly incorporate additives such as turmeric and lemon peel powder to your melt and pour?
Golden Owl mix them with a little rubbing alcohol first
Could anyone help me please. Made my first melt and pour soap today. It smells glorious as it is, however it leaves a weird smell on the skin. Glyceriny, weird, can't describe. I can't smell my oils on my skin at all. What can be the reason?
Very informative. I have various ideas based on this segment.
You’re super informative. I just picked up sop making as a hobby and have learned so much from you thank you!
Thank you for the video. I have a one question that I couldn't find answer for: Is my microwave still food safe after I use it to melt the soap, or do I need to deep clean it before I put my food in?
Lenka's Creative Colouring Absolutely!
I would imagine just to be safe to deep clean it if you want
Melt and pour soap is just soap, so it's not dangerous. (It's not like the sodium hydroxide used to make cold process soap, which is dangerous until it fully reacts with oils to form soap.)
you make this look soooooooo easy. enjoyed the video

I can't find any alcohol everywhere is sold out ! what can be used instead, to pop bubbles and help the layers stay together?
Can I use paper to wrap the soap after fan-drying it for roughly 3 hours or more to remove the moisture? Or will it continue to moist? Thanks!
Wow so much info.. Thanks for sharing☺️
This looks like so much fun!
Your awesome!!!! Thank you so much for your detailed video! I can't wait to try it for myself!

Thanks for the information!

Can we make shower gel? Also, can we make liquid soap from melt and pour? Thanks ever so much.
What mica is the purple and blue in the swirl? Thank you
What do I add to my vegetable glycine soap to get rid of the film it leaves on the body? I already add coconut oil for the lather and olive oil.
What are some tips for melting down the soap base? I microwaved mine for about A minute with mixes in-between and it got all clumpy and gross
Are you only able to make mica veins with cold press?
Is there a place where the best temps m & P are listed. Highest temp before it's bad. Best temp for colorants (mica, color blocks, food coloring) best temps for essential oil, fragrance oil, etc. Best temp for what I didn't cover in this ?
what are the mica colour blocks you use instead of the powder & where would I purchase that from. Thanks!
You can find our color blocks here: www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/ingredients/colorants/color-blocks
Awesome update my friend
Ma'am can you please tell. Me which soap base is good for making soap because I bought from online but that is sticky. I need non sticky soap base..

Can I use the lye water that I use for baking in soap making?
Hey Anne.. Brambleberry is only for US. How do I get it in India?
My issue is when I do melt and pour is when I do a clear with an embed over time that embed blues until you can't even tell what it was . How do I stop that?
there is an extra clear type of melt and pour you could use
What colors were used in the purple and blue mix into that round mold?
How to calculate the tfm of a melt and pour soap. Is it necessary to specify that in the label??
What if melt and pour embeds are sweating in the CP soap? Can I wrap it up before it’s been cured for at least 6 weeks? M&P were made about 3-4weeks ago but they still sweat 😥
I wish you had shown the finished Bar of soap that you swirled

Hi! Great video! Does soap need preservative??
Would love to purchase from bramble berry but shipping to the UK came up as £100+ 🙃
Is milking a word when I’m heating the soap base?

thats EXACTLY what i have been wondering..no definitive answer..but upon research, that's what it seems like...have you found any answers?
@@gen2886 as far as I've found clear M&P is the only way. Even the white M&P seems to take away from it.
