Planning to get the diamondback bed cover and your low pro crossbar kit in the near future, I was curious if they can be placed or adjusted in different sections of the truck. In LLoDs video they're pretty spaced apart. I was hoping I would be able to adjust them forward or backward depending on my daily application. ie. RTT, bike mount, storage, etc.
24 TRD Sport Owner here. Also 600ish miles on my brand new truck. One thing I noticed right off the bat is that I was getting TERRIBLE gas milage using the fuel that came with the vehicle, we're talking 16 MPG completely stock (Non-Hybrid motor, stock wheels). After filling up with fresh gas, I was easily getting 20MPG. So not sure if that might have contributed to the odd MPGs initially but thought I'd share! Sweet Truck btw..
It looks reeeeeeeal good. But it still needs a 2" lift for better articulation. Forget about the shocks blowing through the shock mount, you're going to have the tire blow through the quarter panels!!
Man I’m glad you have the bread to inform us on this info. I’m way too nervous about getting in to one of these new gen tacomas. I’m pretty deep in my 3rd gen that’s been proven.
Same boat for me, except I wasn’t smart enough to get a 3rd gen sooner, sucks seeing how the new 4th gen is hitting the shitter and are having a ton of problems not to mention going cheap on parts
@@binnie465 Yup, lost performance, lost capability and devoured fuel economy, AND it looks really bad😂. This is nothing more than a "Look at me! Look at me!" modification.
Right off the bat I like how Toyota designed the back of the bed with a slope and made the bumper a wedge. Ditch the bumper and you have way more clearance than previous models
Yes, these new gen trucks stay in the power range (no bogging) with their next-level 10-speed transmissions. I got a 2023 4-door Tundra TRD OFF-ROAD 4x4 (all stock minus TRD purple air filters). Looking at +size tire sizes so checking this vid out for community feedback! 😎
Just for reference since your friend has a non hybrid 4th gen, the hybrid gets a 9.5 read diff yea just like on the 200 💪 but the non hybrid gets the smaller taco rear diff 🤷♂️ so you chose right. As a fellow 200 owner we will see you on the trails with the 200 or the trailhunter
What about wear on UCA ball joint/bushings and tie rods? I downsized to 34s on my Land Cruiser after accelerated wear, even with a near factory wheel offset.
I had to put a 1” spacer in front, take off the crash plate and still had to trim slightly in the front just for 34s with a +18 offset. Still easier than what I had to do for 33s on my 3rd gen though
1" Wheel spacer or spacer lift? suspension lifts just change the "resting/equilibrium" point along the suspension travel path.. a spacer lift or extended travel coil overs will extend your droop but you will always have the same up travel end point and path (unless you reduce it via bump stops) so you will still hit the same areas as you were stock (it will just take more flex/compression to get there). A wheel spacer will decrease your effective offset (to a -7 in your example) and will increase your scrub radius and increase your chances that you will rub. You should be able to do 34's with no rubbing easily on 24', might need to adjust your caster via the lower control arm?
@@austinwade3194 I heard people were putting 34s on stock so I put them on without doing anything but they rubbed bad in the back and front, so I put in a spacer lift and got an alignment and it was better but still needed some trimming. I was expecting not to have to trim the front from what other people were saying but in the end I had to trim a little
I love the way it looks. Nice. It looks so good it would be hard to lift it more for function. Guess it would be a mall crawler but man I wanna jump it so bad
Hey dude, I will buy a Tacoma next year. For your honest opinion, which of this setup did you recommend to buy the iforce turbo or the iforcemax hybrid set up? TRD JON recommend the hybrid setup, but he bought a non-hybrid tacoma! I'm just confused, men!
If you're not going huge on tires or super heavy with armor, then I'd get the non hybrid honestly. The backseat storage is dope, MPGs are basically the same, and it's a less complicated setup for cheaper.
How’s the Max? Obviously it’s subjective but is the extra power and toque floating your boat. I’m digging the truck;the tires are a personal flourish. Pretty cool and very informational. Thanks
Great video as usual! Regarding the uptop low pro bars on the Diamondback, do you know if there is going to be adjustability between bar spacing front to rear? It looks like they mount into anchors and the spacing will most likely be too far apart for tents like ikamper.
did you opted in for 2" lift or this is without any lift at all? Im thinking on getting method's 703 +35 offset with yokohama Geolandar MT G003 for my TrailHunter
Yeah, wish Method Bead Grips had more +offset options for my 24' ZR2. According to Peak Suspension, +6 to +20 offset seems to be the sweet spot for jumping to 35s and larger. I'm sure Method's +25 offset will still look aggressive enough with 325/70/17s. Think you may be going overboard with 37s lol. I blame jeeps for making everyone think 33s-35s are small.
@@LastLineOfDefense holy smokes, that’s tight. I’m running 35s on my ‘24 Land Cruiser and even with a little trimming, it rubs. I wish there was more room!
It looks really cool driving around the mall parking lot, but not for off-roading. As soon as you bottom out the suspension its going to destroy the fenders and the front bumper.
You ever plan on having an HD build? like a Ram 2500 or Ford F-250? I know you enjoyed the F-250 giveaway truck so I figured you might do one eventually.
@@LastLineOfDefense that’s fair. I know companies like SkyeRV make some absolute crazy overlanding RV’s. The Explore Life channel does some hardcore testing with that RV. But yeah a 450 build would be awesome! Hopefully one day!
I’m so confused when comparing to the 3rd gen because my 3rd gen has a 2in lift on 32s pulling 5k and I get 12mpg going 65 in the Kansas hills Can you pull 5k on a hill with your 4th gen plz?
I think it's a little bit of trying to cram 2 lbs of turd into a 1lb sack. A larger positive offset, slight lift would probably get you there without cutting.
Why not do your lift first, likely resulting in less trimming? Someone just couldn't wait LOL! I get it, it's tough to roll on stock size tires for even a day!

It looks cool and silly at the same time. Like the stanced version of an off-road truck since you can drive it but can't really push it off-road.
Hey Mike - if it’s not true intrusive could you do an updated house walkthrough / update in the future?
Looks like a 35-11.50-17 would be the sweet spot.
Have you hand calculated your mileage with the 37’s to see how much the in car mpg is off?
did you have to program or change anything to get the speedo/odometer to read correct?
