I couldn’t be prouder or more grateful to see Return to Edan here in such excellent company! From Egil’s Saga to The Fury of the Gods, so many of these reads are just the sort that inspire me. Cheers, Will!
It cracks me up every time when you play both “parts” and then a picture of Ed makes its way into the corner. Today’s picture was particularly good 😂 Your videos have kept me company many a times while doing mundane office jobs. Thank you 🙏🏻
I have just the last one left to read in the wolf den trilogy - I don't want it to end, I love it so much! Really looking forward to finishing the Bloodsworn Saga as well. I just bought the Arthur audiobook as I was hooked in by the cover - I'm so stupid I didn't realise it was the third in a trilogy!! 🤦🏼♀️
@@thebrothersgwynne I will soon. I'm working through the read along with your Discord. This is my first time reading any of your dad's books and they are amazing! I've already started on The Hunger of the Gods.
Sword of Kaigen is about marriage, love, sacrifice, loss, war, and honor. Its structure does defy the mainstream norm, but its focus on motherhood, women, and gender roles fits in line with the common theme of similar best sellers. The fact that it's kind of trapped behind the fantasy genre door, is self-published, and a hidden gem even amongst fantasy readers is unfortunate. It's an awesome story with a lot of complex themes and messages.
I started Bloodsworn Trilogy earlier this summer and just started Book 2 today. Cant wait to get to Fury of the Gods. Its my first exposure to John and its absolutely gripping! I have Play of Shadows on the TBR as well as Sword of Kaigan!
That is so, so awesome to hear! Hope you love the rest of the series :). Please do jump on our Discord, as we are currently hosting a Bloodsworn read-along. It would be great to hear your thoughts! Will
Amazing. Based on your recommendation I bought the Glorious Exploits ebook, but THEN I found a signed hardcover at Wasterstones in London! SO I bought that too! Can’t wait to read it. Thanks for the video!
That picture of Ed in the corner was essentially my facial expression when I realised that Ed was, in fact, not in the video 🤣Didn't ruin the fun though, loved hearing you gush! I can't wait to get to The Wolf Den trilogy and to see how Fury of the Gods ends the epic saga.
I think you and Ed will love the Hanuvar Chronicles by Andrew Howard Jones!! It is sword & sorcery fantasy based on Hannibal & the Roman Empire with the Odyssey & the Witcher thrown in. The main character had so much gravitas you just grow to love him and I am sure all the male readers want to be him.
Back in the day, I read Egil's Saga translated by ER Eddison...was so bored I wanted to dig him up and kill him again. Must be a different translation that you read...? I've now bought all of Papa Gwynne's book for my oldest grandson. He reports, and his mom confirms, he's been stuck into them. Good job, Brothers, getting Papa sales and Papaw points with my grand!
Will I loved the Land of the Living & the Dead, 4 stars with a caveat. I think the way ending, the last few chapters were disappointing. I also think I missed out big time not having the opportunity to read the novellas. I just started Fool’s Errand and so I am so happy I read the Willful Princess & the Piebald Prince.

Wonderful company to be rubbing shoulders with for sure!

Pre-ordered Fury of the Gods audiobook, can't wait! Normally try to avoi pre-ordering things, but books I'll make an exception for.

Will’s job is humiliating me with the pictures he chooses!

The UK cover for Horns is beautiful! Much better than the US. Tis often the case!

Yess!! Glorious Exploits is now one of my favorite books ever!
So glad you also loved it!!! Such an incredible read 🤩
Will
I need to put that on my January TBL.
Fun list. Kaigan is book hangover material to be sure.
Hi Ed. Yeah, it was really good. I didn't realise it was a book as well at the time.
Great video! The Sword of Kaigen is just sitting on my shelf waiting to be read!
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed :). You need to pick it up!

I finished the Wolf Den trilogy last week. It is a great trilogy, I loved the ending too, so satisfying.
Wonderful trilogy. Can’t wait to see Harper’s Boudica project.

Amazing list!
Thanks so much!

Sounds brilliant, thanks Heidi!

Did you know Horns was made into a movie in 2013 with Daniel Radcliffe 🙂
Yes! I’ve only seen a bit of it. Did you like it?
Ed
Wait are you guys really John Gwyn’s sons? lol
