- Another scenic and beautiful drone video showing some of Hawaii's talented wahine surfers. Samantha Rust @sammy.rust and Kekaikuihala @kekai_reeves longboard surfing on Oahu's Eastside on November 26, 2022. Then on November 27, 2022, Puaiohi Moeani DeFries @vahinepaumotu_ and her sister Waileia and then Kalei Fukuda @kalei.fukuda along with her father, Kawai @kawai.fukuda in that order. Kalei was spending quality time with her father surfing two different surf breaks on this Sunday. Here's a safe refuge from the giant NNE swell wreaking havoc on Oahu's North Shore; however, the Eastside also proved to be unruly and challenging in its own way. Enjoy the beautiful surf and scenery of Hawaii 🌈🌋🌊🏄🏻🌺

I like watching the technique and foot work. In California there's a lot of cut right, cut left, hop hop hop - but those are short boards. So... nice longboard action.

Nice to see Rabbit Island again after 60 yrs away. The boards have gotten lighter than the one Duke's brother used to help my mother launch on Waikiki in the 30's. My folks first date was at Waikiki where my father rode the board in tail first, not knowing any better, she got interested. My mother always accused my father of too much "Ho Mali Mali"... chuckle. Thanks, great video.

Wow how fun! I am up there in the years and have been away from the ocean for just over 20 years now and I long for it like a fish out of water. This spot looks so friendly and inviting, a place where even I would paddle out. 🙏🏼🙌🏼

I used to surf there when I was a kid. Cockroach Bay or Roaches is what we called it and it was only rideable with a very large North to East swell. We’d also paddle out to Rabbit Island and surf the point break on 8’-10’ North swells. I miss Home.
Kalei spotted some Portuguese man o' war outside the break, yikes!
Got to ask, what was the reason for naming it Cockroach Bay or Roaches?

Cockroach Bay! Decent footwork but I’d like to see girls carve more. A smaller fin or thruster set up will allow for more carving on a longboard yet still allows for cross-stepping. Looks like gal with dark green board has thruster set up 👍🏼
Most wahines use the big huge fin for stability on walking. I like the combination of walking and carving. That’s just me I suppose. Nice video!
Even on mushy days the surf is still good!

@@PukaSHellTourGuide When we looked over the Bay there were huge waves but no one out, it was too wild and kind of choppy but it was definitely bigger in the morning
