- Waikiki is mellow again a week after Tahiti's Code Red II swell hit Hawaii. The water is pretty clear with nice weather and a solid 1-2 ft fresh SW swell filled in on 25-26th. This is the last week the groms can surf on a week day because it's back to school next week. Actually plenty of the groms (youth surfers) are homeschooled this year so we'll prob continue to see them ripping out there. If you don't know by now, Queens and Ala Moana Bowls are the most photographed breaks on the south shore. Lot's of talent out there and these breaks are a lot easier to shoot than at other good breaks on the south shore.

Summer of ‘73.
Flat rolling waves of Waikiki, sparkling lights from the shore... We brought out our long boards and did this on moonlit nights.

As someone who learned to surf in New Hampshire (of all places), I now spend my retirement years surfing around Santa Cruz. The first time I caught a wave at Waikiki and looked up at Diamond Head, it was like a surreal dream. Like someone had put me in a post card. Beautiful doesn’t come close to describing this place!

Beautuful. It's so much more enjoyable watching people gracefully ride with the wave's energy rather than riding like they and the wave are in combat with each other.
Absolutely! Surfing should not be a competition against other people or the waves... rather it should be a symbiotic experience.
A way to be at one with the forces of the infinite omniverse... to be in harmony with the sea. No supernatural b.s. or "spiritual " nonsense... just the reality of the natural.

You girls has so much fun. I miss surfing. I used to be a big time surfer in CA and Oahu north shore but I wore my neck out from to much. Two neck operations, fusion and artificial disc replacement now puts me in the drone world watching. Great video. Aloha

@@revealhawaiimedia808 my neck is beyond surfing. Can hold it up while paddling. I might try SUP. I also did open ocean kayak racing. Did Molokai channel rave 93. I was 32 out 67 paddling. Surfski

@@revealhawaiimedia808 I lived in town for a while,and I never once went to the North Shore. It seems so funny to other people,but the practicalities of living on the island, keeping a job, and most of all ,even if I did, what am I gonna do paddle out into the fastest heaviest waves in the world? Back then, da boyz had all those spots wired and in full possession.i had heard stories, y'know, not always pleasant. I liked it in town. I never had a problem with anyone,in the water or in the street.

It's a GoPro but we can't reveal the drone we use until after Winter, all I can say is that the Air2s, phantom 4, and mini 3 are all great drones if you know how to color grade.
