Congrats on a new baby on the way, corpus will be here when all settles down with the little one. Y'all caught some nice fish, biggest mangrove I've seen in the CC Bay.
Thanks really appreciate it. Let's hope CC is still there with all the hurricanes that have hit. If you think that's big we use to catch some bigger than that in Port A but that oil rig is in that space now. I'm talking 15 to 20 inches and take drag like a red drum fun days wish I was filming back then.
I've heard people calling them both names so I just put both names up there so people would know what I'm talking about. I call it a ladyfish when I'm fishing.
I fish on the base all the time at the wooden pier or the adjacent from the old concrete pier, never knew the spot you were at existed. The Navy base is my goto when the fish are not biting anywhere else.
That place was the only ace we would go when I was younger. They closed that pier for awhile. The long concrete pier use to a great fishing place. Never went fishing off that wooden pier often.
Thanks we sure do appreciate it. That snapper taste just as good or better than a red snapper. They dont get to big but you can catch as many as you want any size in Texas. You can have a feast either way.
Yes the snapper is really good tasting. Thank you on the baby comment. I can tell you how to catch them but you gotta fight the perch most of the time when catching them.
A really good place is this covered area closer to the boat launch. Gotta get the bait out far out if the tide is low. Make sure you have a drop net or net with a long handle because the area is high off the water. The fishing is great if the fish are around.
Can't park and fish off the concrete there anymore it is Condemned Security said I can park further down the street and bring all my stuff and fish along the wall. To get to that area you have to cross a small strip of active taxiway
I had heard they condemned it and haven't been back since this day. I wish the would fix it. Honestly, a popping cork or the same type of rig I was using will work off that side wall. That taxiway isn't used as much as it use to be.
From the main road through the gate drive all the way to the airplane hangers and turn left. Drive past the last hanger and the area is your right hand side.
Of course you have to have access. Its a military installation. I'm just showing what I know and how I fish the area. Would you like me to only show the public areas so you can go fish them as well?
I've told other fisherman that have access to the military base check the comments below. You can always enlist if your of age and have access as well.
@@fishing2real don't gotta be a smart ass about it..I have planty of places I can put food on any table around CC and I'm not talking about ladyfish either..
Them Poor Man's Tarpon are some good cut bait for Red Fish.!!!
@@joesauceda1439 I've heard. Got a fishing buddy who loves to cut it up and go after monster Red Drum.
Good catch
Thank you.

@@joelmaske9669 that's awesome. I haven't been there in awhile.
Glad I’m not the only one calling lady fish skipjacks lol. A skipjack is a offshore tuna lol. Y’all did great fishing from land!

Thanks we try to catch them when we go
Fishing2 Real if I catch one, sometimes I’ll cut it up for bait. I’ve caught some nice reds using cut lady fish
@@hootertexas9711 I have tried that but no luck yet. I will keep trying it out.

Do you have to be on base to access the place your fishing in this video?
Congrats on your baby take care and God bless.
Thank you we appreciate it and God Bless.
God Bless momma and baby.
Thank you they are doing great.
Congratulations on your baby! How does that snapper taste never caught one before?

Do you have to be on base to access the place you fished?
From land yes you do have to access the base but by boat. No you don't but I don't know their rules on accessing the Navy waterways.
Where would you suggest I fish on base if this place is condemned and not accessible?

Congratulations on the Baby!! Have a question. How do you get to where you were at. I've only fished the area by thw RV's and the sea wall.
When you come out of the RV area you turn right and drive all the way down past the last airplane hanger and it's on your right hand side.
@@fishing2real Thank you, I'll hit it tomorrow morning!!!
@@guscorona4067 live shrimp works really well. If you keep getting snagged use a popping cork. If you catch anything let me know.

How do you get to that part of base? I only fished by the boat ramps

@@bewecca no problem.
How were you able to get in the base?
My connection is a retired military personnel and allowed me to go with him that day.
I’m a contractor on the base can I go and fish it?
I don't see why not as long as you have access.
Are you on base or a public area, big difference.
In this video I am on the Naval Base. What difference are you referring too?
You have to have base access to fish there...you make it sound like you can just drive there and start fishing...

@@billygomez4073 I was just letting you know your options. I hope you don't put ladyfish on the table. I don't know anyone who eats them.
If you knew the rules you shouldn’t be doing what your doing on base on this video.
You would have to let me know these rules you are referring to. The MP's came and let us know we were good where we at. So let's discuss.
