    Some people here don’t own the car and I get the impression that they make negative comments just to see the blood running. I bought a 2019 3.6 premium luxury in black with black interior. Looks amazing and its a head turner everywhere I go. Car is very quick, comfortable and handles like a smaller car. It’s interior is very minimalist which I like. Yes it has some plastic parts in the interior but It would have cost me $31k more to get a BMW 740 to avoid having plastic parts. Plus in my experience Cadillac has been so far way more reliable than two BMW’s that I have own. BTW this is my second Cadillac. First one was a ATS.

    Just took delivery of 2019 CT6 3.6 w/Super Cruise. Owned many cars in this class, and Cadillac has done it again. Simply amazing to drive and travel in. Also, have the 2019 Cadillac Escalade Platinum Sport 4x4, and equally amazing for the long haul. Super Cruise is impressive and a game changer. I've owned the BMW and MB products in this class as well as Maserati and others. This is hands down better.

    I am a BMW guy, but I gotta give props to Cadillac for its smart marketing move, by using durable attractive plastics and carbon fiber parts to substitute for high costing insignificant parts made out of expensive materials that only drive up the cost of the cars. The appeal on the CT6 is dominating and the CT6 is in a class with the Euro Big 3 for less money.

    I told Cadillac on their social media page a few years ago that they needed to put some chrome on the back and that a Honda Accord has a more luxurious back end. Cadillac didn't listen to me about putting a split front bench on their sedans though.

      Neck Bone, Plastics are here to stay. They are lighter, last longer, easier to clean, corrosion proof even to acid level,
      rust proof, lower mold temp (manufacturability), dent/bend resistant, etc. and low cost.
      in other words, a design/ material Engineers dream.
      look at every thing from laptops. tv's, cars, flooring, house siding. mobile phones, even now patio decks of homes are plastic alloys. Also, soon to be, passenger aircraft.
      Plastics are the present and near future.
      As always, GM leads and everyone else eventually follows suite.
      I can provide a number of examples if you like. ( electric starter, remote start, vehicle diagnostics, power windows, automatic transmission/ torque convertor, power seats, level 4 autonomous driving, telematics (Onstar over 20 years ago), automotive automatic dimmer and LED lighting, automotive night vision, magnetic ride control, flex fuel,
      there are many more,.

      @fredeb67 5 років тому

      @@MrGreenelight I already know what that GM has lead the way on many innovations. When I spend a $100K on a car, it had better have the luxury touch. American companies have made many innovations only to let them be sold and improved by foreign organization. Ford sold its hybrid intellectual rights to Toyota. GM made a car that could pull over 1 g on the skid pad (Corvette) that had seats as flat and slippery as a plastic bench. Look inside of current Mercedes, BMWs and the likes to see their switch gear. Cadillac is not competing with the Germans it is competing with the Koreans and is loosing fast.

      True that, the Korean luxury models,
      Kia K900, Hyundai Genesis and Equus, are beating everybody, even some ultra exotic luxury brands like Rolls Royce at a fraction of the cost.
      The Koreans have come a long way since the Hyundai Excel back in the 80's

    • @fredeb67
      @fredeb67 5 років тому

      @@MrGreenelight I agree that the Koreans are on a tare but they do not compete with brands such as Rolls Royce and Bently. I would venture to say that they are on par or have surpassed Cadillac is some areas. They still don't have cars to compete with Mercedes, BMW, and Audi top Dogs.

    • @MrGreenelight
      @MrGreenelight 5 років тому

      @@fredeb67
      They may not compete in accordance to public perception due to marketing. Mercedes, Audi and BMW emphasize the Brand name and not the models. However, The high end Hyundai and Kia match the Mercedes, Audi and BMW in amenities and features; and surpasses them in quality.
      What many people outside of Europe do not understand is that those so called luxury brands also make low end econo-box's that are not marketed out side of UK, Britain, Poland, etc. They do not market or sell those models in North America because it would dilute there image/perception.
      Most North Americans do not by the product, they buy the association or identity of the product.
      Hyundai finally realized that with the introduction of the Genesis luxury Brand 2 years ago. Although they were making luxury MODELS before,they did not have a Luxury MAKE. Just like Honda, Toyota and Nissan had to do back in the mid-1980s.
      American car companies had been doing that long before with Ford/ Lincoln/Mercury, Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler,etc.
      They realized how the north American market think (or don't think). Most people have a problem had a problem purchasing a 75,000 dollar Hyundai Eqqus 5.0 ultimate. But they don't have a problem with buying a 75,000 Genesis Eqqus. Notice how the same models sales have jumped since they changed the Brand name of the Brand although it is still a Hyundai.

    Not having a name on the car like Fleetwood and using numbers and letters (CT6) I wont even look at a Cadillac or consider buying one.... not to mention these Cadillac look just like a large Honda... nothing about this cart sets it apart or makes it stand out thus it would be embarrassing to own one. Owning a Cadillac today is just like owning a Cadillac Cimarron back in the 80s ... just a rebadged car with a Cadillac name on it.... Lincoln has stepped up their game, renamed a new set of vehicles and their new line up stands out far above Cadillac.

      @ 1: The CT6 looks nothing like a Honda Accord.
      2: This car is not a rebadged anything.
      3: The Cimarron was a Cavalier with a Cadillac badge for most of it's run.
      4: Attacking Cadillac because there is no more Brougham, Seville or Eldorado is ridiculously. I have owned an STS for six years now and have replaced the windshield and the battery. That's it!! It's a great car. Please understand I'm not trying to be disrespectful. I like talking cars and I'm really trying to understand the Cadillac hate I see.

    • @Sonicsneverdie

      @ I meant online. I haven't had anything but positive interaction about the car when it comes to face to face. When I watch or read a review there seems to be a ton of negative comments and I think a lot of it comes from ignorance.

    •  5 років тому

      @@Sonicsneverdie so a great deal of online hate, such as mine.. lol... I have no issue with your personally and I do not "Hate" Cadillac but I feel Cadillac sold out its roots, is trying to hard to be relevant and their cars do not stand out.
      Cadillac sales numbers also indicate this. Their brand is trying to overcome a poor image and they have tried to rebuilt their customer base by trying to make their cars more sporty, fast, and relevant but are still coming up short. if it wasn't for the sales and profits of the Escalade they would have gone belly up long ago. The Escalade is their cash cow while many of their other car models are not very profitable. Guess thats says it all.
      For me I will not even look at a Cadillac due to just how bad their name has become, not to mention I refuse to buy a car that doesn't have a proper name. They have tried to rebrand their cars as sporty powerful street racers with great suspensions and all the bells but its not worked as well as they thought.
