Once a race car, always a race car!! These vintage thoroughbreds will always perform well.... and look soooo much better than all the modern buggies at the same time! Great job on the rebuild mate. 👍 👍 👍
Agree! This one had more pace than I had assumed it would for sure. Think that flexible chassis was a big help for the track conditions this day. Always appreciate it brother.
Thanks so much brother! I really enjoyed this one. The buggy was smooth and handled the not so smooth track conditions with ease. Appreciate the support.
I'm becoming more and more of a Kyosho fan every time I run one! I was pretty shocked with its performance but absolutely happy that it held its own with the big boys!
That was pretty cool. Very interesting to watch the Ultima II go around. I have the Turbo Ultima, before the two, same body, original rail chassis but with thicker gauge metal, and platinum shocks. Can't say I'm a fan of the later chassis so much.
Great run footage as always and the buggy ran great! ON a slightly drier day it probably would have nabbed the top spot but like you said, just no helping the weather! I loved the slow motion shots as always, great job!
Thanks for another Ultima video! My favorite 2wd from the 80’s. I was wondering if you could do a series of “Backyard Tuned” videos where you can make several rounds of set up changes that would tailor the car to your specific track. It would be fun to compare the out of the box tune to the “Backyard Tuned” times.
Wow she looked very, very stable out there. Would be cool to see another run during dry track conditions. I bet there’s half a second to a second hiding in there. Though, I feel running the cars in a variety of track conditions shows true characteristics of them. Also very enjoyable. Scoreboard always reminds me of top gear 👍
I know right! Was not sure if the damp track made it faster or slower to be honest. It's such a great buggy and while I was skeptical about the flexi chassis...I think it was an advantage for the track conditions. Appreciate it.
Awesome. Your track is just like the kind I use to race on as a kid. I always wanted an Ultimate Pro. I love the look. You did a great job on the body. You did have me worried, watching it handle on the track, that it would beat my favorite Team Losi. I love the iconic Gold shocks. If i remember, you had to pull out the dog ball to adjust the diff. Lastly, was there a different in the platinum shocks or was it just color? Thanks.
Thanks so much brother. Was pretty surprised with its final result as well. It's a really fast buggy. The plat.shocks have externally adjustable valving. From what I understand the golds actually worked better back in the day. They feel amazing...I'll tell you that. Appreciate the support.
I run Schumacher 2.0 tires on everything "pro". I also try and run 2.0 rims where i can because its closest to the size of most of the wheel dimensions most of the pro cars ran then. I can stretch the Schumacher tires over a 2.2 rim as well. Think they are called mini spikes. Currently on backorder but they still pop up from time to time. The 2.0 rims are unfortunately just ebay finds or come with used car buys. Imex is a good brand (ebay) to pickup some more inexpensive (new old stock) 2.0 rims.
@artnutting893 I have only been able to find parts on ebay and assorted Facebook groups unfortunately. Part of the fun for me has always been the hunt though.
I have some kyosho parts that I will send you for free if you are interested . Tires rims that are not going to work on my yellow ultima ii. Just let me know where to send them art keep up the great videos.
Car came out great. The Ultima just kept getting better and better.
Thanks brother! Could not agree more. Appreciate the support.

The car looked planted, brilliant drive. And always the incredible slow motion 😮 Thanks for sharing 🤩🤝

that sound is distinct to this car! I loved my ultima 2!
Oh yea! That chassis definitely amplifies that classic gearbox.
Awesome video! I wasn’t surprised by the lap time because it just looked so quick around the track!!🤘👍👍
Thanks my friend. Agree...you can sometimes just see it while it's lapping. Really light and quick!
Always have been, and always will be a Kyosho Ultima die hard fan. And Im glad this one nearly topped out the leaderboard. Thanks for sharing.
I'm becoming more and more of a Kyosho fan every time I run one! I was pretty shocked with its performance but absolutely happy that it held its own with the big boys!
This is definitely the car to have for vintage racing
It's a winner for sure!
Great video and great buggy! Had a Turbo back in the day and this video makes me want a Turbo II now…love it!
Thank you so much! I am really falling in love with the older Kyosho buggies. They not only look great & perform well...they also hold up to abuse.

Thanks brother. Have an o.g. turbo as well. Hopefully can get it in this year! Appreciate it.

Thanks my friend. It was probably the best chassis for the conditions given for sure. Need more Astro...lol. Really appreciate the support brother.
I have always liked Kyoshos kelron chassie, it makes the car easy to drive 😊👍 brilliant video as usual 😀💕
Thanks my friend. Definitely would be a go to in low traction situations.
Appreciate it.

Thanks my friend. Would be fun to do that for sure. Will keep it in mind for next season. Appreciate the support!
Awsome video 👌 did look great out on the track, jumped amazing and took the corners great. One day i’ll find one 😁
Thanks brother. It's definitely one of the better looking buggies imo. Super fun to drive as well.

Nice! That suspension works great. Its a runner
For sure is a great runner. No worries about breaking parts either. Just went where I pointed it. Thanks so much.
The landing in the intro is cool, the car looks really well damped. Is it time to start adding D to any damp laps, or MM mildly muddy 🤓
Haha full top gear style!
Yeah I 2nd the D & M request👍.Kinda what was missing from my top gear scoreboard comment.
Two other cars kyosho needs to come back out with.
Would be nice to see them go FULL vintage on one.
@@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC full vintage on all 60 years of cars.
What a time!! This is surely a future legendary model from Kyosho??
Thanks bud. We can only hope!
It's a jet. I was sure it top the table after the first few laps. Goes hard, looks great. Amazing what good suspension geometry can do. Who knew? Hehe
Joel Johnson for sure! 😄.
Was locked in right off the deck. Big smiles while wheeling it.
How you been, miss the time attacks, which one you like better this is the ultima jj
Awesome run. Looks great too..
Thanks my friend. The Boki body helped clean it up for sure. Was a fun drive.
I am just here for the slow motion 😊
Our favorite as well!

Great video brother 👌 looked fantastic was the diff making a noise on one of the corners 🤔 or is that just how they are 😁
Thanks so much! Diff. action was good. Gearbox on these older Ultimas are a bit noisy because of the gear pitch.
That is a beautiful car. Are you using a new mic? The kit had a different sound about it ?
I tried something different. Left the gopro mics on and tried to get a bit of surround effect going. Thanks for noticing brother.
Can I ask where you get your wheels and tires? Looking to restore my Ultima and those look like they perform.

❤looking to rebuild the one I have can't find parts anywhere near me can you please help. Art

Kyosho ultima ii yellow one.
Great stuff man.... Do you have another channel?? I watch another dude (way different topic than RC) and he sounds just like you...
@UncleBobsRC Appreciate it brother.
I do not.
What is the channel?
U have that one I got it new years ago.
Where can I find the blue decal sheet for my car trying to remake it over to original.
How do I find the right deal for my car thay where blue and white.
I have some kyosho parts that I will send you for free if you are interested . Tires rims that are not going to work on my yellow ultima ii. Just let me know where to send them art keep up the great videos.
Right the first corner my impression is = fast in comparison.
Maybe first place
Edit.... Nearly 😅
Haha...thoght the same. Was like wow..this is a rocket!
