- The golden ticket for Wednesday night’s $731.1 million Powerball jackpot was sold in Lonaconing, Maryland. The prize is the fourth-largest jackpot in the game’s history and the fifth largest in U.S. lottery history. Coney Market will get a $100,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket. The store’s owner said he plans to give some of the money to staff and invest the rest in the building. The winner can receive payments over 29 years, or choose a lump-sum worth $546.8 million. #InsideEdition

Unfortunately this is true. Remember that story of the family from Corona, California that just one day up and left the community never to be seen or heard from again. I see a scenario like that happening. I see them slowly moving things out in secretion bit by bit and actually never truly coming forward announcing their the winners. They will find a legal advisor and they will use that advisor to go through every option they have. Because if they choose to stay there. EVERYONE will want to be their friend.
@@Royalsprincess1 I'm from the UK so I had never heard of it, it's really sad that people who were your friends at school and family who hasn't bothered with you for years suddenly come back in your life when you acquire loads of money.
Money isn't everything. You have to appreciate what you have got as there is always someone who has less.
Luckily in Maryland you can stay anonymous.

Why would anyone want to leave a rural life? I would just buy a larger lot and make it my own little paradise and help around the town . Better life nowhere 👍🤗

My aunt won the largest Canadian jackpot at the time in 2009. Our town only has 1000+ people in it and let’s just say everyone’s head turns every time she walks in somewhere now.
It took awhile, but people finally leave her alone after she’s said no so many times 😂
She built a mansion that is 8x the size of the largest house and she still has $40M left plus a bunch of investments.
The MASSIVE amount of people we had flood the town just to buy a lottery ticket was amazing (my Dad sold the winning ticket btw).

it never came to their mind..that the winner is just a traveller and happen to stop by to this convenience store and bought a ticket and had their luck to win it..

Best advice I read about winning the lotto....don’t let it change you.
There were some interviews of past winners and two stuck out for me.
One poor (previously) woman won a decent lotto. She had been living on a strict budget monthly budget and she had do deal with crazies asking for money for months.
After a few years things calmed down. She still shops at discount stores for her cloths, and still lives on a monthly budget (admitted it was a higher monthly budget now lol).
On other guy, a personally trainer, won really big. He still lives in the same house took 2 years to buy a new car (a new Honda).
When asked if he splurged on ANYTHING he shyly confessed he had a hobby....off trail extreme biking.
The interviewer prodded him by asking how many bikes did he buy.
After a pause he “confessed” he bought 10 of them 😂.
After winning 100 Million he should not be ashamed if that was his only splurge! I bet the bike shop owner was very happy that day!
