KEEP a mortgage as a line of credit on your house. That way the Bank has there name on the deed and scammers move on to the next house. And of course the municipal/city government needs to update the laws of ownership.
It's not worth the hassle of a mortgage to prevent thief of a home. The last mortgage we applied for had almost $5,000 in fees attached. We just stayed where we were rather than buy the new house.
I work for a large mortgage company and this is definitely happening. The laws have to change because its just that simple to go down and change the paperwork. I had to explain to a guy why he was receiving foreclosure notices. His home was paid off. But the ex wife took out a 2nd mortgage without his knowledge with forged documents. She had already been paid during the divorce settlement. She made sure all the documents were delivered online with an account that she registered. He had no idea. They'd been divorced for years with no minor children. The foreclosure proceedings had already started. He was so hurt and I felt bad for him. All he could do is contact his divorce attorney and bring her up on charges. She never made one payment.
Wouldn’t that leave the mortgage company having to take the ex wife to court and the homeowner’s 2nd mortgage against him be dropped since it wasn’t him? Seems like this would be only between the mortgage company and the ex since she’s the one that committed the crime.
@@justyouraverageintrovert8487 The mortgage company can and most likely will. The ex husband will not be held responsible for that. In my eyes it was clear he had no idea. I just hope the wife goes to jail.
How is that possible when people who legitimately own places can’t kick out squatters. That takes like months and months and months and yet someone with a fake deed can kick someone out in three days?!
Why does it seem that almost every scammer says that they're from Nigeria? And do they really mean that or do they just say that because they know American police can't reach them? Kind of gives Nigeria a bad rep.
LOL! You don't really believe that email do you? "Come find us in Nigeria"... Yet the first dude they show who has commited a crime like this... Is a Spanish dude with the last name Ortiz who lives in America.
I agree!!! Why would they draw attention to themselves or put authorities on the right track?!? Of course they wouldn’t do that! they would blame others! Not the first time we’ve seen that done in America 🇺🇸 the beautiful!
It is. This is why we have title companies. Sooner or later the scammer will need to realize financial gains from the scam and sell. This will require a quitclaim deed from the actual owner, which obviously must be forged. Closings require a seller and buyer to be physically present, at which time arrest is almost certain. Forging a financial instrument is a big boy charge.
It’s happened to me, as I sell online as a side hustle and I lost 20k 😢 I kid u not. I could have my own car at 29 yrs old but I still don’t thanks to them
Counties should require the filers to show notarized proof of ownership, bank statements, proof of several years of mortgage payment, several years of property tax payments, minimum 1 year proof of utility payments (gas, electric, water/waste), proof of mail delivery to the address with their name. Both thieves from the vid don't look like they have a sizeable balance in their bank account, let alone own multi-million dollar properties. Ridiculous!
no, it's stealing. like if someone stupidly create a big hole in their wall, with their belongings inside the house. a thief would just stroll in and take the valuables. the thief did not create the hole, but they steal nevertheless.
Scammer tried to say I payed $300+ for a new cellphone via an email receipt in hopes id be stupid enough to call their support number and tell them my credit card info for a "refund"
Well, this taught me something about tricking bad guys/girls (like those who waste their money for mansions, airplanes, exotic vehicles) into "stealing" their properties for the good cause (like technology, food for the needy).
Okay but what does this do for you? Yeah you stole the house but you can’t just sell it it’s a whole process behind doing so. Yea you’ve stolen a business but how do you get the profits? You just “own” the building and even then your just a sitting duck waiting to be arrested because once you take any action to make money from your theft anyone with half a brain and experience in the real estate business will start seeing that something isn’t right.
I bet they aren’t Nigerians , but Indians. ( first time using that word referencing people from India, and its doesn’t look right ). Lmao… so they can creat a fake deed kick out the actual owners… and the cops find out it’s fake.. and they just go… “ohhh darn it!!! They got us this time!!!!” And that’s it. lol there’s nothing they can do? Good god..
I thought I have heard of a TITLE FREEZE being available? I have some brain damage, so I don't recall all the details, but it's a small defense against this type of fraud.
There is Title Lock which is pretty useless and there is credit freeze and credit lock. Title Lock only monitors and alerts you of any changes to your title, which alerts you after the damage is already done.
It's so easy yet evicting squatters is impossible.
It's never easy to do the right thing by fixing a problem.

Sounds like the counties need to double-check before processing

The counties should be sued for their negligence which empowers these scammers.
We're talking about state civil servants😅😅😅😅
The officials in these counties should be held legally responsible for processing fraudulent documents!!!
Good luck holding any government employee accountable.
Opening to the public records of such transfers along with the approving employee's name and home address will help them to be accountable.
