It should be legal to remain anonymous in all states. People doubt the lottery winners everyday so it won't make a difference, but saving people's lives will.

Have you heard people talk about - Eenroofen Psychological Expediency - (do a google search ) ? If you’re unable to remain anonymous, legally change your name to a common name so that the announced name isn’t yours. Release a press announcement with identifying details that don’t natch you at ALL. “I’m gonna retire from teaching and spend it on my grandkids” makes people think it’s an old person who won. Throw people off your trail. Don’t live large. Look normal. After a few years, change your name back.

#1. When ever you go to a store to buy a lotto ticket, Always wear some sort of Disguise. And never park your car in the store parking lot. Just about every store has video cameras, inside and outside. Rest assured, when the media finds out which store sold the winning ticket, you can bet they'll be wanting to see all the stores surveillance camera videos, to see who bought the winning ticket.
#2. Never EVER check your ticket(s) at the store (unless you wear a disguise) or on a lottery app. If you do, you can be identified, (remember the stores have surveillance cameras). And the Lottery app has your phone number.
#3. Prior to claiming you winnings, establish a trust. Have a trust/lawyer claim you winnings on behalf of the trust.
#4. Prior to claiming your winnings, rent an apartment in a secure building in another state and get an I.D./driver's license in that state. But dont move there. Its just a decoy. Then claim your winnings in the state you bought the ticket some states like Texas, you have to be a resident in order to play. So check the rules for your particular state.
#5. If you do go and personally claim the winnings. Again, wear a disguise. A hat, sunglasses, covid mask and a wig. Again, check the rules for your particular state.

He advises you to take the lump sum because he gets the largest bite at once. If you go annuity he is not going to get paid in full at once. he has to wait to get the full amount. And if something happens to you, decided to divide your will ... he has to go through a process to get paid. In short it is not complicated for him.
That is my assumption by the way

Taking lump sum stste, fed n local taxes get larger portions .and they also in some states add a windfall tax, inheritance tax irs after you win big money get 40%so by doing that you are in lower tax brackets and I think if they adversely you won,( they should not say example jackpot is 74million they should say after taxed on annuity or lump sum the jackpot is not 74mil but 33 mil its truthfully advertised as the true amount you will have available in 15-20 buisness days holidays can mess up your accessibility to when, $ actually hits bankand immediately I would be takin out max banks allo( 5,000$ a day) u can have the money put in several banks to be able to withdraw more but I would buy gold n fk what intrest I would loose if banks were robbed and 1.5mil of bank $ was stolen u would be guaranteed 150,000.back and if banks borrowed money from ur account for city projects or other loans your out more.banks do use patrons with larger amounts of money to loan to other borrowers. I myself was shocked that Jason said that the LUMP SUM was the better option. Usually Lawyers would tell you that an ANNUITY is the better option. With the LUMP SUM, it's a bigger temptation to blow through it REALLY quickly. Using 700 Million as an example, and compounded taxes at 66 percent, you get a lump sum of 238 million take home winnings. With the Annuity, you get a check for about 4 million a year for about 20 years. 4 million a year is much easier to NOT blow than it is getting 238 million in one check.

Friend of mine joked that if he won the lottery he would go about collecting it in a number of ways:
    1) He would either go in full costume (mask and all) and collect it that way.
    2) Give one worded answers or sentences that have no more than 10 words (basically be as boring as humanly possible).
    3) Be absolutely rude and snarky to reporters there.
    4) Grow out his beard and dye his hair/change his sense of dress for a few days and collect the winners (all while being boring as possible) and then once its over, immediately pack up and head out of the city for a few days and have a close/trusted friend house-sit for him (also while preplanning where to go immediately after winning the lottery)

Here's one (1) thing I hate about taking the lump sum over the yearly installments...
That's a LOT OF MONEY YOU'RE THROWING AWAY!
We'll keep it simple w/this example:
    Jackpot: 100 Million
    Payout: 30 Years
Yearly Payout (Before Taxes) = $3.3 MILLION PER YEAR
    Taxes: 50%:
Actual Payout: $1.6 Million Per Year
    Payout/Lifetime: $48+ Million Dollars
Now, let's look at that same payout but this time, we'll use the LUMP SUM
    Jackpot: $100 Million
    Payout: 65% Lump Sum ($100 Million x 65% = $65 Million Dollars)
    Taxes: 50%
Actual Take Home Amount: $35 MILLION
So, you can either take $35 MILLION and have fun keeping track of all that money at once or take $1.6 million home per year for the next 30, which will actually allow you to take home more money and easier to manage per year....
Even if the taxes aren't that high, depending on who you talk to, one would still come out ahead taking the yearly payouts vs lump sum!

Then shut up idiot it doesn't apply to you, and you wasting peoples time. YOU sir, have contributed smart, valued info in your post! Well done!
Only thing might make me change my mind about annuity is if the winner is say, 60 Y.O., you may not live to see full 30 year payout. I know it can be willed to family, but if they are dirtbags you may want the Lump. What do you think ItzAnOpinion?

Totally agree because you are 100% correct. Lump is robbery.
Some states payout over 20yrs / 25yrs or XX either way your annual check is increased by approx 5% each year. So your last 10 checks are really nice.
Keep your mouth shut. Leave your local area immed.
A 1% lawyer fee is Too Much. $300hr for 30hrs is plenty IMO.
Copy the ticket and sign only the Copy. Hide the Original until you decide.
Dump your phone and use disposables for at least 6mos.
Get multiple condo's. and set up multiple bank accounts.

      @HepCatJack 4 роки тому +8

It depends. Someone who is 85 years old may not have 30 years worth of installments left and may be better off with the lump sum.
The installments is good protection for someone younger to protect him from going on a spending spree. Most lottery winners go back to being broke within 5 years with the lump sum.

    • @theconceptsinscribed8859
      @theconceptsinscribed8859 4 роки тому +3

You realize you can invest the lump sum yourself. You need to factor in ~8% historical return in the stock market to make it comparable.
The 35 million will grow into way more than the 48 million over a 30 year period even if you invest in just bonds.

Agree about the keep quiet. But I say, turn in the ticket immediately. Immediately. Once you turn it in, it can't be lost, it can't be stolen, it can't be burned up in fire, washed away in a flood or blown away in a storm. Most importantly, once you turn it in, it become exponentially harder for someone else to claim it is really their.
Don't try to pretend that you are player. You're not. You're just someone who got lucky. Shut upand pay your taxes and proceed from there. You can put together your "team" in the afternoon but turn in the ticket first. If some lawyer, CPA or financial advisor starts whining about how you should have done this or should have done that, walk out. Their job is to help you most successfully do what you have decided to do. You above all are protecting your mental stability and your character by not playing any games.

Having a common name would be a blessing because they won't know exactly which common name won. Bonus points if it's also in a highly popular City/State. For example,"Melissa Johnson in Miami, Florida won 700 Million," would be a LOT luckier than, Rubashka Coubretry in Lost Springs, Wyoming won $700 Million." Lost Springs has only a population of SIX people, so for all we know, it could be all SIX people living in one house. So, Rubashka Coubretry living in Lost Springs wouldn't be anywhere near as lucky as Melissa Johnson who lives in Miami Florida. Miami, Florida has a population of almost 500,000 people. Lost Springs has only 6 people. It's easy to see Melissa would fare far better than Rubashka...

Because if I ever were to win, if the prize is over 250,000$ I’m gonna remain anonymous, because based on statistics lottery winners lives who showed themselves on the news ended up either spending it all so nobody could steal the riches, or they become so stressed and paranoid about their money being stolen they turn to drugs, of course not every lottery winner does this but with such Financial power in your hands you should always remain invisible to the press. winning the lottery should give you a choice of either your name, or anonymous or your alias name. (Nickname) in order to ensure no robbery occurs during their time.
