I like the inspiration from evil genius and stargate in this game
I'd have thought of a "Dungeon Keeper XCOM" hybrid, but yeah, yours fits just as well.

Yeah, the basebuilding (even the way the tiles are displayed) is so reminiscent of Evil Genius. And, as in Evil Genius, all the action takes place off screen.

This game has a potential, but developers should show more creativity than they did so far.
Like with research, why do you have to research things like medbay or guard post? Because other games do that... thing is, it other games it often makes sense, here you are a government agency that don't know how to do that... yeah.
In itself it's not a huge problem, but its a symptom of a problem. What's the worst is that solution to it very simple. Allow player to build basic medbays that are slow, but give them an upgrade based on alien lifeforms to make healing faster.
Now researching medbays isn't as forced and player has a choice to postpone it, yet it still is a good idea to allow people go back to work quicker, while also there is a narrative reasoning why you need a research from alien planets for this tech.
Id LOVE to see a mini series on this! Its super cool concept!

Y'know it's always amusing that in these sorts of games that there isn't an established facility already. It's like they just dug out some corridors and a tiny room and plonked the gate there and considered the other logistical parts later. :D
This isn't as amusing as another thing this game is guilty of. A government agency needing to research stuff like recruiting or medical facilities.

I don't expect a bright future for this game with stuff like this, it shows a lack of creativity.

First vibe is something like Dungeon Keeper meets Theme Hospital meets Surviving Mars with some X-Com/Stargate influences :D
This being limited to 3 people for the teams and not being to make more trips to the same planet is a game breaker for this one. It's "Game Ballance" choices that really does not make sense in the game world they are building.
this makes me think of evil genius 1/2 with how the building works or is that just me

I would love to see this as a series. I do think you skipped a couple things early on, so it was a bit harder to follow the progression of game.
