Ah yes, stargate meets evil genius.
tbh a combo i would not argue agenst existing because itgs got a good flow from my try at the demo
i was about to comment those halls look vERY familliar , lol
and now im annoyed that there are no actual Stargate games. despite there being so much that could be done.

With a bit of Dungeon Keeper thrown in for the look&feel of the base-building.
Edit: LOL, the devs list "Dungeon Keeper, Evil Genius, Rimworld and Stargate SG-1" as influences. And I thought my guess was a bit far-fetched... ;)
It is all inspired by the T.V show StarGate SG1.
IF you have not watched this potato, you cannot live a fulfilled life without having watched it.
Man i love setting up these rooms like in dungeon keeper 2. Its so satisfying to see ur workers dig out and build the rooms
This looks like Stargate and Cheyenne Mountain ;) If this game allows mods I bet one of them will be to change the gate to Stargate and I'm all here for it ;)
Dwarf Fortress combined with Stargate. The combination I didn't know I needed in my life, but now I do!
Looks nice. The base building mechanism and textures and even the mission part reminds me of "evil genius 1" - maybe the developers bought the engine from Rebellion ?
In my opinion, buying the engine in order to build on top of it would be a big mistake. Modern day game development tools are so much more powerful than it used to be and you'd end up giving yourself more work trying to build on something that old and trying to maintain it than recreating it in something like Unity. I'm sure it was heavily inspired by Evil Genius though.

This has been on my wishlist for a while, so good to see some content on it!
But I can feel a mild OCD tingle from Orbital Potato's base layout.
This felt a little bit more rushed than usual and not the usual quality from Orbital Potato.
I'm guessing he wanted to be early with a EA release video as soon as possible, so I'll chalk it up to that.
I wish he'd put the doors one in from the edge to allow better utilization of the space in the rooms, it'll ease the use of one square size equipment/furniture.
Having doors and rooms placed so they were organized according to what's needed before and after a mission.
I'm being nit picky now and I know it, but this just makes me want to get it for myself and address the changes I'd make.
I hope Orbital Potato will cover this game more, even with my slightly negative feedback.
I'm looking forwards to seeing where this game ends up being, the first hour covered here are promising.

Th e problem with Orbital Potato is that he constantly plays shallow, derivitive games and markets them as exciting and interesting.
maybe you seek another genre?
