Everyone says "If you don't like it then leave!" That's why these videos are all the same. I'm 46 and I cold call for a living. Unlike the usual 20 something year old who does this sort of job, I'm good at it because I've been doing it my entire 'career'. Hence, I make a lot more $ than those who are in my position. And, my expenses require that I make this kind of $, so starting over at another career isn't an option. It's like a prison sentence. I hate sales and I really don't like people very much. Cold calling will help anyone hone their dislike of people. This is my fault though, I'm the one who let time get away from me. Any young person who's reading this - don't let this happen to you. Don't settle for a job you hate. You will wake up and you're in your 40's and it's just too late to switch. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
EJL, sounds like you are not in the best place. Please look around and do some searching for what might be a better fit. It could be that there is something out there.
I cold call too...I'm doing fundraising for organizations that goes against everything I believe in so I have to be a great actress everyday...I hate it so much that I have anxiety attacks at bedtime. I'm 45. I want to work for myself but I need an income..
I have a job that has COMPLETELY changed in just the course of a year! A boss I loved was fired, they put someone in her place with no experience in my field, upper management doesn't care, and I don't feel like I have a voice anymore or that my concerns even matter to them. It got so bad last year that I was on medication for anxiety and depression, just to be able to get through the day there. I'm trying hard to focus on the things I do like (close to home, pay is good, fairly easy job) but there are days when I don't want to be there. I will eventually have a retirement if I stick it out for a few more years, but when you are unhappy in a job, a few years feels like a million years!
The exit plan is the best part, I plan on staying at my job for one year. I love how each month roles by saying 7 months to go, 6 months to go, ect. I still have 8 months left but its moving :)
That’s the mindset I’m in. Got 4 months to go and prepping in the background. Every time I get stressed or get blamed for things out of my control, I keep thinking this won’t be forever. I’ll get out
I had the perfect job, felt fulfilled, that I found my life's purpose. Then new management took over, and my health deteriorated, and now I feel like I've outlived my purpose and usefulness.
My current job makes me consider suicide daily. I’ve got to turn it around or get out. It’s just been a firestorm since covid and health issues. I am the main breadwinner and I’m just exhausted. Please pray I can have the strength to get out and find something new
I work at a hotel that I've tried to apply to three times in the past, but they only hired me as a dishwasher. I'm casual so I only work 2 days a week minimum, but I didn't know the scheduled hours ranged from around 4pm-2am. I thought it would be a day job for a few hours while I went to college, but now I dread every day and dread the day the schedule comes out. I can transfer to a different department on February 20, so I'm just counting down the hours. Its so hard now more than ever to not quit, but I've learned a lot as a person. I learned that money is not everything if you dread your life every single day, even if you're not working. I learned to ask about scheduling from now on when I'm in an interview. I can't wait to leave... I can't wait to find something I really love doing instead of settling for the "safest option"

God this is terrible. Correct me if I’m out of line. But I came here to find a way to feel better and get through my job. He said if you don’t like it then leave oh but if you think of the consequences you’ll stay. Great, so I stay in this prison of a job and I have to be grateful because it allows me to live but this isn’t living. “Just get another job” in my situation I have to wait until may or else there are serious ramifications. We don’t have a choice to work, and working is tearing my soul apart

Working on my exit plan, my job is making me sick, I started to suffer from anxiety, I have insomnia, I work 10 to 12 hours, I have zero social life, no time for me me and my children...If I stay there I will die young. I lost all the joy of living, I have to work because I have 2 daughters and bills to pay.
I must have been perfectly primed to receive this today; how did one video give me so much hope and encouragement?? I think I resonated most with the 'this is the very best place for you to be, at this time,' and the exit plan advice. Thank you for this!
Thank you for this video! I am currently teaching English in South Korea. Every day at this school has been miserable and I have only been here a month. All I want to do is leave, but I am meant to stay for a year as I have signed a contract. I am desperately trying to find ways to bear it and this video definitely has a lot of great advice. I really hope I can make it!
What I personally do is ready my phone. I install games, videos and memes so that I have something to look forward to during my breaks. It's easier to wait 2-3 hours for a break than the whole 8 hour shift. It doesn't make the job any less tedious, but at least now my breaks are fun and relaxing instead of me just awkwardly sitting it out and waiting to get back to work. Packing a nice lunch helps as well.
My work place won't allow us to use phones on our break unless we leave the facility. It makes me so tempted to go hoe for my break by I only have 30 min breaks and whenever I go home I never get back in time that I won't be late. I've been drawing or doing extra work, the extra work all day strategy makes my legs hurt tbh but it's more fun than drawing
I love what I do, but the stress levels are unreal and I'm ready to move on to bigger better things! I'm stuck because of a mortgage situation for at least 4 or 5 more months.
Thanks so much for this video. I enjoy serving customers but not when it cones to counting money & checking the stocks WHILE managing customers. I feel immense pressure to get things right as I’m new. When I get it wrong, I feel horrible. I honestly felt helpless and as you mentioned about having an exit plan, I’m looking at other job opportunities. Life’s too short to CHOOSE to stay miserable. Thank you for empowering me. Keep making videos!
I make 22.25 which is ok in my area but everything’s so damn heavy and biweekly pay is difficult to manage especially when you’re living check to check
I love the last one, which I only started to look for. That was very helpful, I loved my job for over 15 years, I just feel I outgrew it last year and can’t be there anymore
Me planning my exit as the daughter of a businessman and started a business of her own from scratch with a net worth almost beating dads? Monetizing my baking and chicken farming hobby 😌😌😌
I've grateful I have a job and grateful for my paycheck but that only goes so far. I'm 63 yo and am finding it challenging finding another job. I know I'll be working for at least another 5 years but I worry employers look at me and think 'she won't be here long'.
Don't worry about it, just apply. You don't know until you try. The right employer will want to utilize your experience and wisdom. Employers are having trouble finding good people so you may be a perfect fit.
I think the very hardest part about my job as a nurse is the patients that are mean/rude. Most are not but the ones who are make it so difficult to serve them as you say… it makes me question why I’m even there to help them. I know that they have a lot going on mentally/emotionally/physically, it’s my job to know that, but still. Makes it hard to stay positive sometimes so I’ll focus on your other points to stay positive lol
I think the most important thing to ask yourself before anything is "Do I really want to like this job?". Many times we search for answers, only to show resistance when we meet them. The reality is that if you're in a job that you don't like, it's no one else's fault but your own. No matter how much you are in denial, it's the facts. Focus on building the right skills & connections and as the video says, plan your exit. Whether you're miserable or loving your job, they're the same 8 - 12 hours
It’s not your “fault” if you have no other options. How about having a 190k student loan for a profession and realizing 10 years in that you are 100% unsuited to the work and hate doing it, but nobody will hire you much less *interview* you because your 10 year history is niche. It’s not always your fault. Sometimes (and I’m in this situation) it is my ONLY option. Therefore I have and had no *choice* but to accept doing it. Not going to explain the last 14 years or why nothing else is a (viable) option for a (viable) life. Don’t have to explain. It is what it is. And it’s not my “fault” for not “simply” moving on. Some of us just have to *endure* indefinitely. Find someone to serve? My entire career is serving. I’m sick of serving. Nobody serves me. My entire existence is making other peoples lives easier. I sincerely don’t care if I’m offering value to others because nobody offers value to me. I just have to give and give. And I’m supposed to feel *gratitude* for *getting* to *serve*? No thank you. It’s not always our fault. Sometimes it just IS.
I’ve applied to so many jobs and I can’t get a yes at one that would work out with my schedule (I have a kid). It’s so depressing when you’re doing everything you can to get away from a job but it all fails. I feel so trapped.
I feel that my issue is unique. I hate my job because I work three 12 hour shifts followed by a 60 hour shift. I can’t be positive when I haven’t slept in 3 days.
I hate my job with a passion. Im grateful i have a job. But this job gives so much work. Leaves me with my head spinning. So much work dont know where to start. Every few weeks making changes. Today im shaking and beyond unhappy. I wish i was happy at my job.
Thank you for a job, Help me find how to make the best of a job, find someone to serve, find created value, be an intrigued observer and Help me find an exit. Thank you for all your help
1- make the best out of it You can leave, if you choose not to leave based on any reason ( most of the times consequnces that it has) then make best out of it. Remmber you can leave whenever you want! 2- find someone to serve It will make you feel better about what you are doing and reduce the difficulities you have with your job 3-value creation You should know the value of your job and how it can be important. If you are a valiuable person the go ahead and share your value, make that fucking school somewhere better... Don't waste your time and theirs do add some value to this fucking world. 4- be an intrigued observer Look from outside to the situation you are. It helps to take it not personally and being able to find solutions for problems 5- Plan your exist You are not traped in this, there are a lot of opertunities out there and you need to be open to them
I hated my job because I worked from 6:30am until around 5:30pm daily due to managing teams in India and Arizona. I empowered others to manage their own work and I'm back to 8 hours a day while working out daily. I think you need to change those aspects of your job that you hate.
I do recruiting but I rather do something with Chinese language since it is my affinity but there are not any jobs here. And dealing with salaries and people I find challenging
How exactly do you make a call center better? Getting yelled at and cussed at all day, just for trying to help people. On top of that working a schedule with no wiggle room, that doesn't even give me time to live. Just a schedule that has me working all day, basically no time for anything else.
#1 did nothing but make me more angry at everything. We should be thankful for this miserable life we live? Barely surviving and in constant debt? Nah. I'll stay pissed. Even if it doesn't help me to stay pissed, I can't help it anymore.

You are welcome, tomboy dee.
I’m 21 working at Amazon, I’ve been debating about starting my own car detail business and now I actually will start one
Da Don, that is great!
Tip number one may have just saved my my mental for the next 6 months.
I am glad the video is helpful to you, Catreana-Katrina.
That can be hard even for a few years. You might want to try somewhere else where you will be happy.
I listened to so many videos on how to deal with hating my job and I have to say this actually helped!
Melissa DaCosta, that is wonderful. I wish you the best.
The exit plan is the best part, I plan on staying at my job for one year. I love how each month roles by saying 7 months to go, 6 months to go, ect. I still have 8 months left but its moving :)
S PR, that is a great way to understanding this too shall pass.
That’s the mindset I’m in. Got 4 months to go and prepping in the background. Every time I get stressed or get blamed for things out of my control, I keep thinking this won’t be forever. I’ll get out
Did your time go quicker when you counted the days down? Mine seems to be going slower
I had the perfect job, felt fulfilled, that I found my life's purpose. Then new management took over, and my health deteriorated, and now I feel like I've outlived my purpose and usefulness.
Jack Reacher, it might be the end of that job, but there is something more out there.
@@LiveOnPurposeTV I really want to believe you.
Blah blah blah... PLAN YOUR EXIT!!!! Now we’re talking!! Just kiddin, good advice.
It is always an option, Nicolo Marchillo.
With the Coronavirus there is no exit right now but unemployment... I’ll stick with my call center job
My current job makes me consider suicide daily. I’ve got to turn it around or get out. It’s just been a firestorm since covid and health issues. I am the main breadwinner and I’m just exhausted. Please pray I can have the strength to get out and find something new
Enlist your partners help in finding another solution to getting a new job. That should take some pressure off if there is another person looking.
Did you, I need to know!
What happened. Hope you are alive

Thank you thank you thank you!! I often tell people following my passion also takes me doing things I HATE . Anything I enjoyed took massive work and mental change. I had to change how I looked at everything and the complaints. Thank you for the mature and realistic video you uploaded.
My pleasure, Sandra.
I love your delivery of the message. It made me smile and helped with my perspective while driving in to work today. Thank you!
You are welcome, I hope you have a wonderful day and can spread positivity to someone else.
I have been in a very dark place for a long time now pertaining to my current employment, I would like to thank you profusely for this video and for you tactics and perspective changing abilities !!!!!!!!!!
I wish you well.
That is great advice. Thankyou. I work in a toxic environment with staff morale very low. Tip 4. Be an observer and take yourself out of the situation. This is great. Thankyou.
Thanks for sharing! Glad it is helpful.
Loved this video Sir ! Great advice. No matter what I have to deal with there at least I have a job. Cheers
Work your way into another job that suits you better.
I’m 14, I work in a restaurant. I cannot say that I don’t like it but it is such a drag sometimes because there will be my boss calling me at times telling me to come in when I’m either busy or have had a hell of a shit day at school. A job is a job though, and I’m willing to do it despite those setbacks
You are learning some great lessons at an early age that will help you throughout your adult life.
Keep going ik your reading this and have to go to work tomorrow I do too everyone does I don't like my job but I'm going in tomorrow and I get to go home at the end of the day and at the end of the month we get payed , better times will come
Yes, better times will come, Rhys Davies. I hope you are aware that you have some control in those better times. I’d be happier being off the phones 📞 and helping people solve the issues with out customers in my ear all 10 hours of the day 💀💀💀 people are rude demanding and exhausting
@@astephenlandrum6692 yes I agree i have co workers like that
Working on my exit plan, my job is making me sick, I started to suffer from anxiety, I have insomnia, I work 10 to 12 hours, I have zero social life, no time for me me and my children...If I stay there I will die young. I lost all the joy of living, I have to work because I have 2 daughters and bills to pay.
I hope you find a place where you can work and feed your soul.
This video changed my life and I’m not even kidding. Thank you for helping me change my life.
You got it.
This is the first time a UA-cam video was actually interesting when it comes to this subject. I will take your advice thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I wish you well.
Thank you for this! Much needed. I’ll probably listen to it every day until I’m out.
Come back whenever you need a refresher.
Glad you are using your breaks to escape for a bit and not merely to countdown the time till your shift starts again.
This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you so much for posting
You are so welcome!
Plan your exit all the way! That's something I like.
Amelia PC, it helps all the days until then.
Been planning my exit for 2 years but plans keep falling through. Bout ready to give up
Juan Ruiz, don't give up, come up with another plan, it will work.
What do you do for a living?? @Juan Ruiz
I don't hate my job. I hate upper management. How do you fix that?
Upper management is part of your job so do what you can to limit your contact and remember the parts you do love.
question on #2: phenomenon of "serving" didn't get to me until later age, do you think as we age we enjoy service more than when we young?
I do, we are usually less centered on self and learn empathy.
I've done and currently do 4 and 5. I call 5 my burndown. I create a spreadsheet with each day as a row and mark it off. It's awesome
B, thank you for sharing what has worked for you.
Wow. This completely spoke to me and made me cry. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome
Awesome tips! As I sit here on a Sunday night worrying about what tomorrow may bring :(
Blaze Reptiles, honored to be on your team.
Yup that Sunday night dread!!!!
I love what I do, but the stress levels are unreal and I'm ready to move on to bigger better things! I'm stuck because of a mortgage situation for at least 4 or 5 more months.
Lisa Warren, Stay focused on your goal and it will be by quickly. Hang in there.
I have a plan and I'm leaving the company for another temp plan in a month but its still a drag to do this work now
Count off the days, it will happen.
You are so welcome!
I make 22.25 which is ok in my area but everything’s so damn heavy and biweekly pay is difficult to manage especially when you’re living check to check
That is tough. I wish you well.
Joanna Julep, that is awesome! Good luck.
@LiveOnPurposeTV Thank you for this. It gives me hope 🙏
I've found I've already been implementing these tricks for a while and only now realize I may have to plan an exit. Thank you
You can do it! Michael McCarthy, I wish you well.
Is it wrong to leave or try to leave a job you only just started? To go to something that you're passionate about?
Nope, it isn't wrong.
Heather Far, thank you for being there for some of the toughest times in other people's lives. I appreciate you.
Wow this is so helpful! It may be tiring at times but I have all the reasons to be grateful. Thank you.
Honored to be on your team.
This is such a good video. I’ve come back to listen to it time and time again 👍🏼
Glad that you come back for a refresher. Love this platform. Please share with others.
Thank you man, I was going to quit my miserable job but my family needs the money. And I have a plan to take in 6 months, I'll make it out
True Scary Stories, you can do this. Use your discontent to make something better.
I work for a company that I hate cause my employer is unprofessional and I hate it soo bad I’m glad I’m working but I don’t wanna go daily
lindsey Labulis, I hope you can find something else very soon.
Earn from investing and trading valuable stock assets ,like crypto earn profit as returns and save ,I could show you how ?
i dont fell like programing my self to do somethingt horrible is right!
Hazardous Gaming, do something horrible? I can't imagine what that would be. For most people, it is just the daily grind of the job.
Dr Paul, your videos change my life.
Thank you for using the suggestions in the videos, Luis & Mariela Gonzalez - Santiago.
Thx for your advice. Some very good points.
Glad it was helpful!
fml... "Plan your exit" is how I've been living my life. I usually love where I apply for work. Soon as SHTF I just quit. lol
Benito Samia, good luck on your next venture.
Well said, Carlos Torres. Thank you.
Genius 👌 Thanks as usual, dear Dr. Paul!
Thank you, Good Wife.
I’ve applied to so many jobs and I can’t get a yes at one that would work out with my schedule (I have a kid). It’s so depressing when you’re doing everything you can to get away from a job but it all fails. I feel so trapped.
Thank you! This video deserves more videos than it does.
You're welcome! Share away with anyone you think could benefit.
Dont like your job then leave... i love that tip
LIL D BEATS, thanks for watching.
Omg thank you, this is exactly what I wanted
Perfect. I love it when things arrive when we need them.
I feel that my issue is unique. I hate my job because I work three 12 hour shifts followed by a 60 hour shift. I can’t be positive when I haven’t slept in 3 days.
Sounds like it is time to look around for something else.
Thank you for making me swallow my pride.
Happy to help.
I hate my job with a passion. Im grateful i have a job. But this job gives so much work. Leaves me with my head spinning. So much work dont know where to start. Every few weeks making changes. Today im shaking and beyond unhappy. I wish i was happy at my job.
I hope you can find one that gives you some joy.
Wow... This is really... Mind opening 😮😮😮
Thank you.

Perspective will be different when you have serotonin deficit. I need valium to do my job.
I get that. With the serotonin deficit, any job might be difficult.
Why havent i found more people like u...i neeed videos like this since i could think for myself
maria guzman, thank you for watching and there are more videos coming.
Check Zig Ziglar. He has a similar video about attitude.
1- make the best out of it
You can leave, if you choose not to leave based on any reason ( most of the times consequnces that it has) then make best out of it. Remmber you can leave whenever you want!
2- find someone to serve
It will make you feel better about what you are doing and reduce the difficulities you have with your job
3-value creation
You should know the value of your job and how it can be important. If you are a valiuable person the go ahead and share your value, make that fucking school somewhere better...
Don't waste your time and theirs do add some value to this fucking world.
4- be an intrigued observer
Look from outside to the situation you are.
It helps to take it not personally and being able to find solutions for problems
5- Plan your exist
You are not traped in this, there are a lot of opertunities out there and you need to be open to them
You got this!
Blessings my man..am gonna sleep in peace..planning my exit❤❤❤❤❤
Wonderful. It makes life so much easier when we have a plan.
This video worths every second of my life.
Wonderful, Jazmin.
I hated my job because I worked from 6:30am until around 5:30pm daily due to managing teams in India and Arizona. I empowered others to manage their own work and I'm back to 8 hours a day while working out daily. I think you need to change those aspects of your job that you hate.
Ludvig Borga, use the discontent to create something better. You are a good example of this principle.
I’m planning to exit my job in a years time so that I can do other projects or find a way to make passive income to quit my job.
The Crypto, That is awesome, I wish you the best. You can do this.
I do recruiting but I rather do something with Chinese language since it is my affinity but there are not any jobs here. And dealing with salaries and people I find challenging
Recruiting is interesting. Maybe you could do something online with Chinese. Research some opportunities.
How exactly do you make a call center better? Getting yelled at and cussed at all day, just for trying to help people. On top of that working a schedule with no wiggle room, that doesn't even give me time to live. Just a schedule that has me working all day, basically no time for anything else.
Noah Strange, I hope your co workers are supportive of one another. It is a tough job and you might be happier looking for a new one.
I need to change my prospective. because yes Im so sick of bein on the phone day after day .... Id rather be dead.
Marcy DElgado, you can do this. Then, make a plan to change jobs.
Honestly thank you. Really made me think about everything.
Thanks for commenting, Logan L.
Cursed profile. And I have to see it again...blechhh lol
Great advice!

Wow, thank you. I've got a much better mindset about my job; about the reality of my situation.
GoodColours, thank you for watching, glad the video is relevant.
#1 did nothing but make me more angry at everything.
We should be thankful for this miserable life we live? Barely surviving and in constant debt? Nah. I'll stay pissed. Even if it doesn't help me to stay pissed, I can't help it anymore.
Lucy Lynn, I hope some of the ideas help.
@@LiveOnPurposeTV I didn't watch the rest. I'm sorry, I know you're trying to help. I'm glad people are out there at least trying.
I guess maybe I just feel like these coping mechanisms are outdated in a way. The comment section really shows that, I think. A lot of the structures of daily living are falling apart these days and people are more miserable than ever.
I shouldn't have attacked your video regardless.. There's enough hate in the world and I can't stand to contribute to it.
Hopefully these methods help someone out there. 💜
