Some employers are so toxic that even if you try to quit on good terms, they sabotage you when your new employer call them as a reference. They treated you so bad but dare you to quit so when you do, they become more toxic! Sorry for my english, i'm french by language. Thanks for your advice and i love your channel so much.
This is just my opinion but when a job begin to make you physically and mentally ill it is time to leave. Some employers feel they own you instead of you working for them. They constantly piling on more work and will not raise your salary.
This is my experience. That structure needs to change. Sometimes even the money isn’t worth it…they need to change the way the whole business operates.
I am in this situation right now. I get sick every 2 months like clock work. I’m a salaried employee that works over 50+ hours a week and do not get pad overtime because my manager said as a salaried employee I do not get overtime. It’s killing my soul. I work with untrustworthy and lazy people, and the person I’m suppose to count on as my right hand demands extra money every time I try to delegate work to him. So I am ready to quit. I’m moving to a cheaper accommodation, and will soon be able to save a little to quit for a month or 2.
At one point in my life I was stuck in a toxic job for five years. It wasn't my manager who was toxic, it was the entire dynamic forced upon staff by upper management. I'd cry every day on my drive home from work, but the pay was so good I hung in there until I had something else lined up and had also paid off my car. To give you an idea of how bad the environment was: At one point 1/3 of my department was out on stress leave. Truth. I actually received a phone call one day from the head of HR for the entire corporation who was located in another state. She wanted to know how I was managing when so many could not. I told her I was considerably older than my colleagues with a long work history and attributed it to that. My last day on the job there was one of the happiest days of my entire life.
Thank you for this, most of us really needed to hear this. The difficult part is that for my Job in Health , you can't even take breaks nor decorate your Environment, you literally overwhelmed the entire time.
Health care can be very stressful. We hope you have something in place to take care of yourself outside of work and can also ask for support at work to help reduce workload and overwhelm.
Legally, any job must allow for breaks. Where I was only designated breaks were allowed. They tracked you if you left your desk at any other time because we were a call center. They'd report everyone's breaks to the entire department with hard-copies at meetings. A co-worker friend of mine used to call them the "potty reports". It was so humiliating and degrading, and this was at a very large, well-know, world-wide corporation.
Sometimes, jumping from one job to another can be like jumping from a frying pan right into a flaming 🔥 The new job may even turn out to be much worse than the previous one! I watched this video TWICE. I need all the advice I can get to survive a job that just drains me. The job is not so much toxic, but it is just not a good fit for my personality and my best way of working. I will be practicing mindfulness before and after work and updating my resume and LinkedIn this weekend. Thank you for a great video!
Thanks so much for tuning in! It should like it's time for a change - so yes! Update your resume and put yourself out there. Here's to bigger and better opportunities for you. And in the meantime, keep doing you best at your current job. You've got this!
Thank you for this! I am in this situation right now I am trying my best to find a new job opportunity that is a better fit for me. My health has been affected so much where I am currently working.
I just entered to a new job 2 months ago, and I hate it, however I know that is the best I can get at this time, and I will need to be there working for about 3 to 5 years, so thanks for the advices, tomorrow I will bring my little plant to my desk, I will be there for a long time, but I'm grateful with the life for giving me a job with a relatively good pay, that will give me the opportunity to study ❤.

Just literally went through this. If you have a toxic boss who may sabotage your new job offer reference covertly ie great on written reference, but verbally leaves an unfavourable tone with the new employer, network with their boss / senior colleagues to give you a recommendation. Unfortunately I've had the pleasure of working with vindictive individuals
Love this video❤ I have literally done all of these suggestions. My favorite part is making my space comfortable. Setting boundaries is very very important to me as well and has helped with my mental wellbeing. Thanks for a great video❤❤❤
I disassociate from my toxic employer as much as possible. That means limit my interactions to only necessary ones and switch to remote or hybrid schedules. Sadly this can only get you so far as your employer will make stupid decisions that negatively impact you without learning from it --they'll repeat the same thing so best to get out asap.
This is a good tip and I will try to implement this. I am highly sensitive and an empath so it is hard for me not to absorb the chaos and negativity at my job. Learning to disassociate would probably be beneficial for me.
Thank you so much Bola. I heededto hear this. Thankfully, I had started implementing some of the tips. I look forward to landing my new job soonest, I have been applying.

I feel more lost now. We are not able to decorate our desks, or relocate our sitting position, I work with multiple toxic people (awful), there is NO work to do, HR have been unsupportive in the past (I've lots of evidence of employment law being broken, ready to sue when I leave). Mindfulness is my biggest friend. I put a single thought in my mind at the start of the day, I leave myself visual cues in my diary. I'm working on my next study exam to help my CV, and I've been applying for new jobs. Sadly a 3month notice for me. Thanks for your video as it has pointed out a couple of things, and has shown me I'm on the right track.
Please do not be discouraged. If mindfulness is working for you, then just stay focused on that. Start looking for something else. Hopefully you can exit the toxic situation soon.

I kida hate my life a lot right now but I am keep pushing. I just have to force myself to keep in mind that I'm stating for student loan forgiveness and a full ride masters scholarship…but it's so damn hard working there 😢
Stay focused on moving away from this toxic environment. Is it possible to find something prior to completing your masters? It's worth exploring!
I am in a similar position now. It's horrible, my coworkers are very toxic and rude. I just need to stick it out for another year or so but I don't know if it'll get better after that. I hope you are doing better now.
Who really needs recommendation letter? HR just check if person work there or not. Our employment is at will. Means you can leave or they let you go any time. Reference should not be a concern when employment at will.
😢😢 I just quit
Me gusta pienso esta es un commercía de mi amigos, por ejemplo mi amigos se investan en un systema de comida, Little Ceasars

I work do oral surgeons and they don’t care and they run their own business. So it is what it is.
Avoid HR period
Today I got up at 9 am. Then I went for a walk, it's a nice summer day, why not? Now I'm fixing lunch. Then I might take a nap. It's Monday. I'm NOT playing nice with people and bottling up my frustration. I say whatever I want to whoever. Yep, I'm retired! And the best part is you're not :)
Give directions
It's the hairstyle for me 😢.
Work friend? Yeah right! A break every hour? Individual personalised environment? Move locations? Talk to HR? Princess Obvious has obviously never worked in the real world before!
Actually I have, and I have over a decade of experience working in corporate America in all kinds of situations including patronizing, aggressive, racist and hostile environments. If I've learned anything it's to protect my peace first and foremost while i explore my options. Thanks for stopping by.
@@Clevergirlfinance Well Princess, society will most certainly protect your peace over a blokes. That's for sure. Until that changes which it won't you'll be fine and dandy under the laws of women and children first....................then dogs and pets, .....then friends .................. expensive equipment....................then money ................. then clothes..................... and finally men.
It's 6 hrs or 7 hrs, of the day, but, It's not your day Impermanence, things. change
