Aready a must in +50% of my productions, aND not everything exactly quantized ( atleast 1 thing has to be humanized/swing) , and 1 delay in tempo and a delay thats out of tempo. HUMANIZING youre tracks gives a natural fealing (human ) AND NOT A COMPUTER TRACK. UNLESS YOU WANNA GO FOR A 1990 DETROIT TECHNO TRACK OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. + polyrhythms = deadmaus afterwatching the video i make mine different i make bars of 5 -6-7 and always a 4on the floor kick, i keap the track alwas in 4/4 duh but i just end the 5 or 6 or7 bars at 16 bars or 32 bars. 2nd rework ah okay you do that to, just like is deadmaus
One of the top 2 or 3 producers on YT right now. Great tricks that everyone should be using in every production, and so well taught. Gives a track so much more depth and interest.
@@EDMTips yes, the volume level on the master track when completed on Ableton Live 11 has been an issue for me. When I finish, the volume is always lower than I would like it to be. Then I open that file in Cool Edit Pro to adjust the volume level. How can I avoid that? Thank you for your help.
You always do great videos ... and you have a very friendly and likeable nature ... I have subscribed to various music production channels but I think that yours is in the top position ... one would have to watch all your videos to really appreciate the depth of your production talents and level of experience ...
I remember being a kid in the 80s discovering Steve Reich’s Violin Phase and thought he grooved. My friends thought I was crazy. Now you meet Polyrhythms on the dance floor.
Just a tip when working with midi notes. If you shift click the arrow in front of the last measure it goes to the end and you can drag it without the extra note to the desired length!
I keep seeing the topics of polymeters and polyrhythms pop up in my research. I think the universe is telling me something... Great vid as always! Thanks for sharing!
I haven’t watched one of your videos in a while (bought a Elektron Digitakt so I’ve been watching to learn that).. BOOM, here I am learning invaluable maths and music theory from one of my all time favourite channels. Thx for making this.
Your channel has grown so much! Congrats on that! I found your channel when we both just started uploading videos, but you managed to keep it up and build an amazing audience. I know it takes a LOT of work to do what you do, keep it up mate.
Great vid!! so helpful and definite be overloading on these ideas! How about a James Blake or Flume How to make series? Keep up the great work and congrats to Jonathan on a solid track!
Wow great explanation, after 2hrs of watching other vids, the first 2 mins and 17 secs explained to me everything I needed to know... 😂 Still watching. 👍😎 thanks
Thanks for covering this. Love to see more on polyrythm and polymeter applied both to the drums and also melody and bass lines, such an interesting way of making boring simple tracks into more complex and creative compositions.
could you pls consider doing some tutorials on more mellow types of house music ? stuff like classic, vocal, gospel, deep, french and tribal house ? thanks
Honestly, is it possible to get the kick samples? I for some reason hate the kicks from sample packs...Yours sound EXACTLY what I need. Bravo bravo bravo for everything!!
Awesome! Now you've explained them, they seem like the easiest things in the world to do. Am I going to use them? Yes, although not so much in loops, but the concept (using with fx) is definitely something I wish to dabble with inside my mixes. Thank you!
Love your videos! Could you perhaps do an in the style of video for some of Pryda’s older stuff. Like RYMD for example. Much more interesting track then opus.
Sorry for the word but fuckkkkk bro, this is definitely you best video will. Thank you very much for share with us. When I get the top 1 on billboard I will for sure mention your for the help that yours videos gave me.

Awesome video! I would love a tutorial on the synth rhythm used in ODESZA’s The Last Goodbye.
Am already using these but didn't realise it was a thing or what they were called. Thanks for confirming I am doing something right :)

sharing just in case: it's easier to "solo" by muting each instrument in the piano roll than by using the drum rack.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing!

Could you do this on a larger scale like every 48 bars on a 5 min track that's 128BPM? would be interested to know if this would work or not
What tool is that or what feature of Mac OS to show the buttons that you are pressing?
Same for the round click rings
