Hi, just found Ur channel and the content U've got there is very informative and helpful! 🤍❤🖤 I just started composing with the start of this year and I'm trying to find my genre, is there any possibility of sending U some tracks so U could say what's done properly and what's not? If it's not a problem I'd be very pleased if U told me afterwards what of Ur other videos should I watch to fill the gaps in my knowledge 🙏
I like how you explain why you do certain things a certain way instead of just showing how to do it. I just found your channel and absolutely respect what you're doing.
I don't do EDM - or any dance related EM really. But your tips are still useful and good teaching crosses genres. Top tutorials, well explained. Thanks!
As soon as I watched this video I started to create a dance track incorporating some of the tips I learned. Now things sound a bit more interesting thanks and one love from Jamaica
Amen brother. Thank you for the content, I’ve loved music composition since I was a kind in band but learning a software was hard. These videos are bridging that gap for me.
@@EDMTips Added bonus tip: use the pentatonic scale to always make sure your bass isn't clashing with any chord going on at the same time. Works when you tune your drums too
Had a mate round last night. He listened to some of my tunes.....his comment was he liked then but felt my baselines were lacking.......kicked me into action. THIS video is the fix. Brilliant stuff. Thank you. 😊
Dotted basslines almost always sound great and can do wonders moving the the bass away from kicks. It'd be cool to see you take on some more Drum and Bass!
Perhaps I do more of Drum and Bass in the future, depending on how many people will vote for it. Any particular artists or tracks you're digging at the moment?
@@EDMTips I've been listening through some of the classic selections recently. Clean dreamy 90s liquid like LTJ Bukem, Makoto, and Wax Doctor. Modern liquid gets pretty poppy/synthy, that minimal classic sound has such a serene lounge/vacation vibe to it.
I tuned off during point 4 as I have sufficient knowledge about root notes, 3rds, 5ths, 6ths and 7ths which may well work well in the bass line. I did, however, get a little lost when it comes to altering wave forms and then doing the low cut / high cut fliters and/or EQ.... Just sayin' as a newbie.
for which type of songs (genre) is that useful to play bass fast (more notes) and on which type of genre is it useful to use less notes or play bass at slow speed
Better tip for sub/mid separation. Use only one instance of serum : Make the sub direct out ! Remove fundamental of OSC A and B Like that you can avoid any phase issues. And no EQ needed ! less is more :)
@@ErixSamson Fair call. But then who is to say Jazz is best or pop is worst or Funk is funky. All music is subjective IMO. It's easier to determine which types of music make more money though. Just ask Rihanna in her Rolls Royce fan tail custom made. 30mil.
If you're just using a sine wave without any harmonical enhancement, then there is not much need for a eq. Using an analyzer one can tell which area of the frequency spectrum the sub occupy. It should be 150 Hz and below.
Hey Will, I just subscribed to your channel. Fantastic content here! 👌Thank you so much for your tutorials, tips and tricks. Every video helps me tremendously regarding the EDM genre I just discovered for myself. With the very best regards from Berlin, Frank
Your videos are just great. So much to learn and it really helped me to make better music ... well at least imo. I was just wondering which serum preset you are using. I've seen that it is called "RPS PAPER BASS 2" but couldn't find it anywhere. Could you pls. give me a hint?

OMG, I'm a bass player since the early 80's and it's so fun to see what EDM producers call funky basslines :-)
What's funny about it?
@@abrahamclark767 it's so basic
