I remember in the early 90's listening to the KLF, New Order and similar bands but every now and then on late night radio I would hear something special. It took me a few years to finally learn that it was house and the deep underground sound that I really loved. To me, this is a fundamental part of dance music. Maybe not quite the spiritual center but it's damn close. Amen brother.
You are such a sympathetic guy. Thanks to you and your positive energy I got motivated to start creating music again and take my EDM production skills up a notch. Thank you!
The Korg M1 has the classic house piano (8’) and organ #2 That is the sound of “Right on Time”, “Crystal Waters”, “Kim Mazelle”, “Madonna’s Vogue”, “Robin S” etc. Roland has a software called M1, sometimes it goes on sale for half the price. $45.00 I just bought the Arturia’s Roland JU 8 + Analog Lab V quite cheaply too.
I got the m1 VST this year for 50 euros. One of my best purchases. It's incredible what you can get for it. The house piano makes it a must buy for any musician. What I also really like are all the drums that you have in the M1 as well. Is often forgotten.
You dont know how much I thx to you. all the contents and i love the way you explain all the stuff. I`m conquering your 'how to make' series one by one now, seriously.
Great job, Will. I love watching how much you enjoy this stuff. Even after a long day in Ableton, you make me want to jump right back in. Keep up the great work!
would love you to continue with this track and show us how to layout a track - im good at getting the samples in but laying out a track is a nightmare. would love to see the making of the whole track. keep up the great work
Compression as a mixing and mastering tool would have been used back then just not the Side Chain pump effect made famous by French House in the late 90s
Thanks for this. Knew most of this in theory and I’m also a Logic guy, but always interested to see how others approach their workflow and achieve the sound. Great job 🙏🏼👏🏼
Me too, I bought Logic in ‘19 using discounted ITunes card (no more!). I just upgraded to the latest. I can’t afford the Ableton Full license. I’m just a home enthusiast and got hooked on Garageband. It’s very similar. I think LXP has a much better interface than Ableton.
@@iasciateognisperanza3267 Agreed. I’m sure Ableton is perfectly usable and I could get my head around it if I spent a good chunk of time on it… But Logic made sense to me from the moment I first opened it, without having to be taught too much or watching heaps of tutorials. LPX for me always 👌🏼
A great video. It doesn't matter what tracks I listen to, I can never really get into House. There is no accounting for taste, I still love happy hardcore and Scooter.
Think its worth mentioning a sub layer on the bass is important when using a 707 kick because its mot a deep kick at all. However using a 909, depending how you pitch it and the length of the kick the 909 can carry the sub info through the track so you only need a mid bass . Shorter 909 kicks and you want a sub then use a volume shaper like cable guys which can shape the volume of the lower bass frequencies when the kick hits but doesn't duck the higher frequencies that aren't clashing to keep the power intact
Will, great work here!! I would really like to wish the title: "Mr. Fingers Can u feel it" from you. I know there are some good video tutorials for the song, but I would be really interested in your method of production. I've already made a few attempts but I can't get this feeling...
oh lala Will comment je suis reconnaissant pour ce tuto il est mortel je suis demandeur de ce genre de style de music, BRAVO Will MERCI beaucoup :) DJ_KIK
Great tutorial mate, I’m learning so much from you as someone who never had a musical bone in my body, one thing I’ve heard over is “call and response” in music any chance you could do a video to explain the technique as it sounds interesting? Cheers Will😊
Really good. This was not as "root" as I expected, but you got it really close. This track sounds more like early '90 house tracks on keyboards and '80 on 707 drums pattern. I can actually "hear" Robert Owens or even Will Downing singing over it, for sure... Really cool!!!
Just started Learning after saving up for Ableton. Love this demo sounds just like my idols! Would be cool to hear something like SM-TRAX another classic
Howdo squire, just to say good clear tutorials.I'm on reason 12 & cubase 10pro,but it's all fine production techniques &easily transferable to any DAW.anyway, cheers my man Tonescapes
I think sidechain WAS possible, even way back then, DBX266 Alesis 3630 and/or their predecessors were available at the time? I picked up my first DBX with side in 1997, and it had been around for a while.

Hi Will, those Drums Machines are free!
Are you a pc or mac user. What is your system spec. rtl latency does your system show. What sound interface are you using. Great video thanks
This sounds like one of my dad's old records back at home
Your dad has cool taste.
This is the vibes 🙏❤️

next up has to be a Kenny Dope track/Masters at work track or a Erik Kupper track (knuckles producer partner)
You're the first to list real House artista that I see talking about music production...
20 years in the game and I'm learning tons, great teacher, love the channel! Thanks for your work making these tutorials
Finally.... Thank you Will for making this video Kerri Chandler is my god of house music
Classic Kerri and Larry Heard are my favourites in the genre. Incredible productions.
You're welcome! 🙂
It sounds awesome, just like one of those vintage obscure records from the early 90’s. I love these tracks!!!

I LOVE happy hardcore but I HATE Scooter! Go figure!
@@EDMTips Good job we're not all the same or you wouldn't be a world-famous DJ and producer.
