My voice just doesn't seem to go above a certain sound. It won't make a single noise, not even a squeak, above a certain note. But it isn't very high. Nothing but a ghost-noise comes out. :(
Hello! I have experienced that too. I think this might be because u havent warmer up your voice yet. So doing this and other exercises that warms up your voice so it Will open up again. Im not a professional but I hope this works for you! ⭐️🤗
My 5 yr old loves singing soprano since she started talking and is always singing; we do warm up exercises while I driving to school. We love your videos. Fyi, my 15 mos old granddaughter is starting to sing.
+Madeleine Harvey for real ! I'm a new subscriber of yours and I've already watched pretty much all of your videos , they're so helpful ! I'm really looking into being a vocal coach myself , so I'm binge watching your videos before I start my certification program ^-^!!
Wow~ The dolphin laugh! That is a BREAKTHROUGH for me! I was able to open up into whole new sounds and placement in my upper register! Thank you so much, Madeleine! No judgment here, my dear. Keep your wisdom and practical tools coming!
Hi Madeleine! I have thyroid cancer and had surgery in April to remove my thyroid. My vocal chords were damaged during surgery and I haven't been able to sing since then. It's been so hard for me in many ways as I love to sing every day. I'm in vocal therapy right now and have seen some improvement with my voice, but still haven't been able to access my upper range at all. I came across your video and thankfully, I had a couple of breakthroughs while doing these exercises. Thank you so much! I will continue to watch your videos and practice to access and increase my vocal range.💜
My voice cracked as soon as I tried the laugh. My voice is deep for a female so I was wondering if it would even be possible for me to increase my range since my voice is deep or am I just going to need to practice?
I LOVE the sound of depth in female voices! Everyone can increase their range regardless of which vocal classification they are. (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) Vocal classification speaks to more of the thickness of the vocal cords rather than the way the chords stretch to increase range. If you find that your voice is cracking..no worries! All that crack is, is a temporary weakness in coordination. The voice cracks for two reasons, weakness in cord musculature, or unestablished resonating space. If you continue to work in the areas that you feel would be the most unstable, you can reinforce the familiarity there. So play with lots of sounds that place your voice in those crazy places and make them stronger. I hope this helps!
I trained myself to be a soprano but I went a month with out practicing I almost lost it but your videos are helping me for my upcoming vocal placement for my choir
+Cynicruss2 OMG!!! I was drinking water as I read this, and literally shot water outta my nose! Love your creative way of watching this video, and so glad to oblige a giggle! Thanks for sharing!
I have a same trouble like that. Whenever I tried to sing high note, I got trouble with not enough energy and tuned out airy. I wanna have some force to support that high pitch. How can I do that to gain force in your vocal?
hi madeleine ! thanks so much for your amazing vocal exercises. since i got to know your channel i have noticed a mega improvement in my vocal range. my neighbours have complimented my wife saying,.. "you got a wonderful voice" and my wife goes saying,.."that was not me that was my husband" ...so this was the kind of results that i got the last couple of weeks. thank God and i am very lucky , i got a very understandable neighbourhood.
Your lessons are teaching me so much and made me realise how wrong i was doing everything to try to fufill my own expectations. I think ill go get singing lessons soon.
I can achieve a high pitch. The pitch is correct, but the sound is too flatty. Do you have any suggestion? Some coach say I need to practice scale regularly so that the range can be increased?
arm nakornthab try rounding out your mouth when you sing. For example, a good exercise for this would be sighing "how" while really emphasising on the "ow" part, almost sounding like "uu". It helps to make your voice sound much more round and powerful. Hope this makes sense and helps!!
Note to self: 1) Relaxation; move sound up and over: Simple sigh 2:00 2) Resonance; Ng 3:20 Ng to sigh and dropping the tongue 4:00 3) Vocal cord coordination. Crazy high pitch laugh 5:15
thanks for sharing! i love music, but mostly let my instruments do the talking, thinking that my voice sucked. you gave me the tools to change that, priceless!
You actually have a pretty loud voice ! I have a lot of trouble talking quietly like a LOT and I hope this video can help me gain control of my voice so that I don’t hurt people’s ears!
vocal exercises are funny indeed and i'd rather doing this alone, but i love the way you explain them. you make it so easy to understand. very very good job!
Madeline harvey, You are Such an amazing Singer and teacher. I really want to make my voice a little raspy, but I don't want to anything unhealthy. Thankyou!!!!
Thank you so much dear Mrs.Harvey. I need more exercises for laughing like that.but all your exercises works very well and I am very thankful about it.
The car is a great place to practice, just be sure to keep your windows closed. Practise in traffics jams and at traffic lights, you might get some funny looks ,but so what.
Hello Madelene!! I wish to increase my lower vocal range. All my life I have sung in the baritone and second tenor range with comfort. But I wish to extend the baritone lower range.
hi, you look pretty and you're helping a lot of people. could you please teach us to avoid cracking of voice? I'm an alto and every time I try to reach high notes, my voice cracks
It's easy for me to sigh and blend when going from high to low, but when I go from low to high, my throat is more likely to tighten up and my vocal chords split. Is it a matter of mastering going high to low before attempting low to high? Will it become easier as I get better at going high to low? Thanks!
my neighbours are concerned for my sanity
LOL!! I think mine are concerned on a daily basis! It's ok though!
Mine too!
😂😹🙌👅🎅
The actual reason why I wanna build a soundproof room.. But too expensive.
My neighbours are so concerned that at 02:00 night during my vocal training they knocking my flat at four walls
Self-reminder:
2:18 - Simple sigh (Relaxation)
3:31 - NG sound (Resonance)
5:24 - Laugh like a demented witch on crack (Vocal Chord Coordination)
I can't go as high as her at 2 mins
Direction not clear: my mom is throwing holy water on me and saying get out of my daughters body you demon. And she just threw a cross at me.
Oh my

My voice just doesn't seem to go above a certain sound. It won't make a single noise, not even a squeak, above a certain note. But it isn't very high. Nothing but a ghost-noise comes out. :(
Autumn Knight similar situation, except it happens with lower registers, I can only sing down to a high alto DO on the Bb scale.
Hello! I have experienced that too. I think this might be because u havent warmer up your voice yet. So doing this and other exercises that warms up your voice so it Will open up again. Im not a professional but I hope this works for you! ⭐️🤗

I have a same trouble like that. Whenever I tried to sing high note, I got trouble with not enough energy and tuned out airy. I wanna have some force to support that high pitch. How can I do that to gain force in your vocal?
Super helpful excersizes! I've been struggling for 6months to transition into head vocals and this is so useful. Thank you!
can you make a video about how to sing without straining your throat?
Don't force out notes, sing with your diaphragm not your throat.
hi madeleine ! thanks so much for your amazing vocal exercises. since i got to know your channel i have noticed a mega improvement in my vocal range. my neighbours have complimented my wife saying,.. "you got a wonderful voice" and my wife goes saying,.."that was not me that was my husband" ...so this was the kind of results that i got the last couple of weeks.

I can hit certain high notes, but I have trouble holding them out (when I hold them out I normally go flat) any suggestions? :,(

The car is a great place to practice, just be sure to keep your windows closed. Practise in traffics jams and at traffic lights, you might get some funny looks ,but so what.
I can't do that first one, when I try to make a sound, air just comes out and it just sounds like I'm leaking air.

My dog is howling at me crying begging me to stop.
My dog is kinda like watching your videos. His much better now than me.
