Ok, Stephen, I’m getting spoiled. This is I think the third time I’ve caught one of your videos soon after it’s up. Thanks once again, and always, God Bless you and your mom. I love when she joins you, she gets so happy!
Nice video- I just left your area last Sunday. 3 days of fishing surf, pier, and charter:
10-B-Liners
1- black snapper
1- trigger fish
15- speedy Macs
4- pompano
1- banded rudder fish
3- whiting
1- black fin
Now back in Tn for the crappie bite!
Slayed em!! Heck yeah. Go get some nice freshwater crispy's now!! Haha!
I am glad you went back to the good old beach fishing videos. You have taught me quite a bit over the past few years. Appreciate the education.

Man I’ve learned so much watching your videos we are heading to Destin for 4 days to pompano fish in mid April and I’ll be using almost the exact same set up. Same cart too. Thanks for sharing this info. I am from Oklahoma but when we go I still catch fish thanks to people like you!
Thank you so much for this video! It brought back so many good memories, years ago I lived down by Carolina Beach, NC. I moved back to Ohio, I sure miss hearing the waves come in.
Just love watching y’all fish! The sand there is like powdered sugar. So soft and beautiful. Good tips on rinsing equipment with fresh water. An ounce of prevention goes a long way❤️
Bless you young man, I love your videos. Continued success
Pomp run is always a great time! Nice video.

Love the vids man!
It's been a while since you've posted a surf fishing video. Great advice for beginners.
Thanks again for another great video, tell your mom Hello from South Carolina ❤
I would love to see more videos like this one. I used to surf fish with my father all the time before he got Alzheimer's and I just love living vicariously through your videos. Hopefully one day I'll be down there in the bay with you. If anyone needs use of an environmental biologist with years of lab manager experience down there, let me know haha!
Thanks Stephen! I appreciate the education! Now I need to consider surf fishing before I get too old!
Thank you for the surf fishing video.
Love watching your videos, and hope to bump into you and meet you.we will be there the first week of June on vacation.
Hey brother, been watching and learning from you for so long now. You have no idea how much you're videos, tips, and tricks have helped me to become a better fisherman! I live in Baldwin County as well and literally just fished that exact spot you're in a few days ago, but had a terrible time because the wind/surf was so crazy rough. Would you mind sharing what you look at to determine how rough/calm the surf is predicted to be before you go surf fishing, wether it be a weather app or a specific metric or what? I try my best, but I'm not sure what to look for to help determine when the surf is supposed to be calm to plan my fishing trip around. Either way, keep doing what you're doing, your videos truly have made a difference to me!
Yay! A new video 😊
Surf fishing! now that's my language! I won't bore you w/ any advice...your methods and equipment were fine for your situation. Please, more surf fishing!!😁
I really happy when I watching your video especially is your fishing experience ❤❤ greeting from khmer ❤❤

Love when you fish with your mom. I miss my mom so much every time we went out on the boat she can all the way up to her death. Sadly I haven't bin fishing in tbe boat since then . I cant wait to get back on the boat .
I recently moved to Gulf Shores and want to let you know as a greenhorn fisherman, I very much appreciate your videos~!

I love my reel 30A 9 foot rod! Good video buddy thanks for the content
Enjoy your fishing video 👍
Half day of school, a chicken sandwich for lunch, AND A BAMA SALTWATER VIDEO. How can it get any better
As always great video I enjoy seeing you fish from the beach also you entered into the fishing tournament they have going on down there thru middle of December I believe for biggest pompano just curious as always stay safe and tight lines
I live in Foley and have used your double drop rigs many times to catch pomp and whiting. They are very good quality. I really like to use Fishgum pomp candy instead of fish bites but do also use the fish bites as well. Thanks for another great video.
Oh how I have missed your surf fishing videos!
Cool man..besides you fishing your backyard..
I think I've only seen you fishing in a boat!..
Great content 👍
Used a couple of your pompano rigs today using cut squid.
I caught all kinds of fish and rays. Had a heck of a day here in orange beach .
Thanks for all the tips 👍
Awesome!! Glad you had a good time!
I was supposed to go surf fishing today. I can't decided not to go because it was 39° here. Your video scratched my itch. 😊
Been here since 20k and Ill be here when you hit 1m
We went out with your friend Ben with Great Southern Charters today and I got my first pomp and some nice sheep heads!
Heck yeah, that's awesome. Fishing was good today for sure!
Good channel!
At 7:05 that other rod was getting bit by that whiting that made that line go slack! 😂LOL
I love the videos also when’s the next time you heading of shore
hey brother... I like watching your videos and trying to put them into practice... but here fish like that only exist during certain seasons... Thank you brothers... Very good video 👍 Greetings from Indonesia
Sand fleas for Pompano 👍 I like to use my 6.5' Ugly Stick Elite with 12 lb power pro 😎 and sunglasses, of course 😂 Pinellas beaches, Florida 🤗
Wow, amazing! we can find pretty much the same species (at least i think their very similar) when surf fishing here in brazil (at least in central-shouth brazil beaches)
Gotta say, I’m from Mobile and have done a lot of surf fishing but have never done as well as I have this week with the bama saltwater pompano rig. I’m way down Fort Morgan road and we have worn them out this week!
Awesome to hear, thanks for sharing!!! Glad you got a good fish box full!
Hey Stephen, thanks for another great video.Do you export your bait and tackle?
I really enjoy your videos Stephen thank you for sharing how do you tie your rigs on ?I just moved here I don’t think I’ve ever rigged for saltwater fishing
Steve, I am temporarily in wheelchair but I bet I could do surf fishing...like your important cleaning tips
Grabbed some of your pomp rigs at hooked up while I was there and wanted some redfish rigs to bring home with me, but they were out.
You should do a shark fishing vid soon i rlly like those
We call the whiting ground mullet over here in Biloxi
Great video, what power and action are those rods? Thanks
Thanks for the surf fishing tutorial. I'm going to try it next spring Couple questions. What rod holder do you use or did you make your own ? What color braid would you use in clear water or does it matter that much?
Surf fished on Emerald Isle, NC. Used cut squid on a 3000 size rig. Didn't catch a dang thing. 2oz pyramid weight, 2/0 circle hook. I was just glad to be on the beach in NC.
Hooks too big? Try using size 2 and catch quite a few.
@@iancaen2977 Thank you. I'll give it a shot.
Hooked Up is the best tackle shop down there IMO, J&M is for the fancy snobs.
Lost Bay is also good.
Hi Steve me again just finishing your video
Leave only your footprints behind!❤
i’m in gulf shores, this is all brand new to me. i jst actually went to hooked up tackle. any tips?
where are some good spots in gulf shores/ orange beach to try surf fishing for pompano as of now?
Well it does not matter if no fish got to go home with ya but i always say that a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at the office.
Darn right buddy
Do you do any kind of fishing charters,on a boat or surf fishing
Oh.. I see.. I was walking out as far as I can and then throwing it as hard as I can. Apparently that was too far. Thank you for the tips.
Amen 🙏🏽
Im on the East coast Jupiter area like u said the beach changes, any tips if you can’t find a sandbar or if it breaking super close to the beach I usually just cast as far as possible lol
If it's very shallow and continues out very slowly, best bet is casting far or finding a small hole or cut
Ever any problems with the line coming off the roller on the staal with the rod spiked I was thinking about using mine for pompano
Never had an issue!
I am 1500 miles from the closest saltwater, but i'll keep it in mind.
You pick up your trash... subscribed
As always you a stand up brother in Christ Jesus, you are for real maybe the fishing wasn't that good but you posted it anyway, that's just how fishing goes sometimes😮😮 😮😮😮😮😂
Hey buddy, we’re in town gonna be here till Thursday at hooked up Pete and tackle getting some shrimp and some apparel wanted to buy your sticker to put on my window on my truck. They said they’re out if you’re close in the next three days drop some off I love to buy some for my truck and my kids, take care buddy
Will do !!! Thanks for letting me know. Imma send some stickers with my brother when he goes in to work! Take care and good luck!!
I hope master Fred gives me some luck
How might I speak to you without being public?
I have a few questions that’s nobody’s business online
Stephen. Is there a higher chance of catching pomp from the surf in April/May or around now, on Oct/Decembe? Speaking about the Destin/FortWalton/GulfShores area
100% spring time and fall are the best times !!!
Hey Stephen, what was the fish you said you should touch with your hands? Has an oil on it that is hard to get off? I can’t find it on the internet but remember you saying it in a video… going fishing in the gulf soon and want to remember that lol
It’s called a Soap Fish! Small, brown with white spots
@@BamaSaltwater that’s it! Thank you sir! Love the videos!
What's best time of day to fish?
Could be anytime~~ but when it's really hot out: the early morning and evening are best. When it's really cold, fish the afternoon high sun since fish will come shallower to warm up. If it's a full moon: fish at night or in the middle of the day. If it's high tide: fish marsh and grass banks. But most importantly, just get out whenever you can! The best time to fish is when you are available to fish!
Take a 10' Lews crappie jig rod, cut 10 inches off the rod tip, add a new tiptop guide...perfect surf rod for around 50 bucks. I've landed several 30-40 inch reds, big uglies, pomps, you name it.
Yeeeeeessssirrrrrskkkkkkeeeeee
Where's the place
