Ah yes, the cold, icy, and distinctly unique sound of the OG Minilogue... I genuinely believe this synth will become the juno of this generation for future generations. Overlooked now, but will be sought after.
I have just bought a Roland Juno DS. I am not even a keyboard player but know a few basic chords and can play simple stuff but I find I get a great buzz by twiddling the knobs more than the keys. I really like your ambient stuff. Thats what I should do. I will keep the Juno and buy a Minilogg!!! I hope I can play them together but I have read guys have had syncing/ clocking problems doing that.
Even after nearly three years this is still my go-to relaxation video. It’s the reason why I’ve got a minilogue, and heck, why I’m mainland a korg guy. Thank you for the endless well of inspiration ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for giving this synth some more love. It's a pretty popular synth (given it's the first of its kind, 4 voice poly at $500) but I somehow feel like it deserves more. It's a modern classic.
This sounds like a movie score, or like a scene out of stranger things. So beautiful I have a minilogue coming in the mail this week this video has me so anxiously excited for mine!
@@RemixSample ❄️That's wonderful like all your songs and speaking of limiters, one question I have an idea of starting with this synthesizer in 2023, do you recommend any in particular that you know will suit the minilogue like a glove? I mean limiter
Thanks! Yes, I still like it! :D But there are tons of new synths in similar price range that I haven't played with that might be just as good or better.
Thank you! No I also used some software VST synths to create the background music. But these songs were made only using Minilogue sounds: ua-cam.com/video/LgcPrN4AFnE/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/98al8GcuemI/v-deo.html
Thank you Ian! I have my Minilogue connected to my computer via a usb audio interface. That way I can use my favorite reverb Valhalla Shimmer on the Minilouge.
Hi! Thank you! If you have the same Minilogue as me, the original silver Minilogue. Then yes, they will work great. You can download them from here www.patreon.com/posts/46241918 and transfer to your Minilogue with the Korg Librarian software.
Hey! I use Valhalla Shimmer a lot and Soundtoys Crystallizer. I have a tutorial video here showing off how I use those effects: ua-cam.com/video/bZduCHcQqWA/v-deo.html
Do you have an usb audio interface so you can connect them to your computer? Download the free Valhalla Supermassive valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-supermassive/
I've used a 5 track looper to multitrack Mother 32, for chords, drums and leads. It's a Boss rc505, all loops can be synced and faded in/out independently.
@@RemixSample you are a wonderful man, it is what I have always liked about you that you always explain the sound obtained in detail and I value that very much, for us who are learning remixsample those details of yours are enormous for us, thank you very much
Great atmosphere. I know you mentioned that Omnisphere and Zebra form the foundational sounds, but what delay and reverb are you using on the Minilogue itself?
Sounds very cinematic! I have a Minilogue on the way and I can’t wait to start playing around on it. Were all of the sounds created on the Minilogue? Beautiful work!
I've made two songs using only the Minilogue and those consist of 4-6 tracks that were recorded separately: ua-cam.com/video/98al8GcuemI/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/LgcPrN4AFnE/v-deo.html
Hey Luis! I don't remember exactly what I used but some of the softsynths I like to use are Omnisphere, The Legend and Obsession. So I write a couple of chords and melodies and process them with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch. That's how I make a lot of my pads. You could do the same thing with the Minilogue it would just take a bit longer.
In this video I'm playing the Minilogue over a backing track I created using a couple of soft synths. omnisphere and zebra 2. The backing track was processed with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch to make it sound like this. I use Valhalla Shimmer reverb on the Minilogue. Hope that helps!
Were all sounds in this song created using the minilogue? Like even the stuff that's in the background that was recorded off camera? Or did you use other synths as well?
Hi! In this video I'm playing the minilogue over a backing track I created with software sytnhs. I like to use The Legend, Zebra 2 and Omnisphere when making backing tracks to play over. I'm also using Valhalla Shimmer reverb on the Minilogue which makes it sound like this. If you're curious what songs only using the Minilogue sounds like check out these two videos: ua-cam.com/video/LgcPrN4AFnE/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/98al8GcuemI/v-deo.html
I have not played the XD but I know that it has more features and better effects. The effects make it better for me since you wouldn't have to use external fx.
Do you use Windows or Mac? I'd love to buy one, but I heard there was an issue with the MIDI driver working with Windows, thus making the preset librarian software not work. Do you know if that driver works with Windows now? (I emailed Korg customer service twice about this, but they suck at replying. Also, great video!)
I have had issues on both win and mac with korg drivers. I got it working now though. The way I use my Minilogue now days is just via the midi and audio ports so I rarely connect it via usb.
I’d love to see a breakdown of creating these backing tracks. I want to do this stuff with my Minilogue so badly. But I get lost in my brain so quickly.
You need to download Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch and then open up a audio recording you have and export/process it with the default settings and you got yourself a pad. Experiment with that app and you'll be able to create similar sounding songs in no time and don't forget the Valhalla Shimmer reverb! Or Supermassive!

Minilogue XD even more so
You’re the beacon of the most beautiful ambient synth tunes on YT, always an inspiration, thanks 🙏
venant de vous, c'est un très beau compliment . Vous êtes très inspirant
Thanks Funk Tree! 🙏
Yeah bro, his Style is very Unique! I can't believe i found this channel
Returning to this gem many times.
Sounds great, and fun fact, the warmth of the winter sun is called ‘apricity’, imo one of the nicest sounding words lol
Oh cool! This is the first time I hear that word!
Holy cow great tones, feelin ya 👍👍
I keep coming back to listen to this track over and over again. Well done, sir! 👏❤
Thank you! I like this one a lot too! ✨✨
beautiful to listen to while watching a blizzard outside

Just wonderful.
Best ambient music on youtube. No contest

This synth with that reverb is something else, super pretty sounds
Indeed! Valhalla Shimmer sounds great!
This sound washing over me is hypnotic.
So great for stillness.
nice and wide atmosphere i lost myself in your music love it

this could be a blade runner soundtrack! awesome! and done all on minilogue. amazing.
Absolutely amazing.

It really is! I think it just turned 5 years old. I just love the design and ease of use too.
I love you, man! I really dig into your movies! You needed only 4 minutes to make me love you! Pure magic!
Nice! Thanks a lot! :D

Amazingly beautiful. Can you teach us?

This is something that I could expect to have been used on Suits. Just friggin amazing!
Thank you! Is there a lot of ambient music in that show?
@@RemixSample quite a bit. The kinda ambient that's meant for tv shows - subtle yet if you listen a little closely would be noticeable enough.
I love this. If only it got cold down here near Houston.
I should buy a b̶o̶a̶t̶ Minilogue!
that sounds absolutely amazing, so inspiring 🙌👍👍👏👏
I'm glad you like it! Thanks!
Great vibes, per usual. Great work!

Sir I'm gonna need a behind the scenes because your lighting and set ups are always on point
Sure! The synth is on my bed and there is a big window to the left. There was a lot of snow that day and the sun was strong behind the clouds.

Thank you very much!
No problem, excellent upload..............
It's amazing
Thank you!
just stellar. pure magic

Your sound quality is always superb. Are you all in the box for mixing? Any analog processing? We'd love a studio tour!
Don't tell anyone this but I usually just apply a limiter and that's it XD I record into FL Studio.

Great stuff again!
What is the noise? Ambient or tape/cassette noise?
It's vinyl noise. There's also some noise from the analog delay on the Minilogue.
Nice one 🔥 ❤️
Is this music only the Minilogue ?
Very nice 👍😊🎼
Thank you! I used more software synths to make the background track. Omnisphere and Zebra 2.
Very nice!
Can I ask, do you think, now, in 2021, the Minilogue is still a relevant synth? You sure make it sound like it is!

great music!:)
Beautiful!

Beautiful. Is the entire track just that one patch?
Nite-nite don't let the bed bugs bite Minilogue.
Some parts of this remind me of the soundtrack for Ecco The Dolphin on Sega CD. Still wish I knew what synths they used to make that.
Interesting! I don't know either. I did a remix of a Ecco song on the minilogue a couple of years ago ua-cam.com/video/Di7pLzSDEgQ/v-deo.html

Don't remember exactly but probably a Sony A5100 with a 50 mm 1.8 lens

Surely this can be done on a KRONOS?
I don't know much about Kronos but it seems very capable. I would like to try it one day.
is this on the synth the way it is, or is it modified/are sounds downloaded?
Is this onboard reverb and effects?
The original Minilogue only has a built in lofi delay so I'm using external effects. Valhalla Shimmer is a reverb I use a lot.
