You are an editing master. I'm loving the clone.
Seriously the clone is the best thing since adding the Super Mario sound effects.
+April Wilkerson looks like your going to learn editing now also huh....just kidding I like your vids also
+April Wilkerson Editing? Jay bought a clone machine, no CG here!
Holy amazeballs. Production value ++, Editing +++, Presentation +++++. My keyboard is running out of plus signs this video is so good. Nice work.
+altagracia57 hahahahahahah. Thank you :)
Jay , you just raised the bar once more. The project turned out amazing and you took it to the next lever with the videography. Thumbs up.
I made this for the entryway of my sister-in-laws house. It was one of my first projects ,besides many jigs. Everyone says it's really nice (the paint hid a few errors). I used screws only on the hooks ,everything else was mortise and tenon w/ dowels on the top.. Thanks for the inspiration Jay.
Jay, crazy good production and editing. I often watch your videos several times, once or twice for the project itself and once or twice just to appreciate the production. Thanks for all the information and entertainment you provide.
i remember your first few videos where super home made quality. now its like a full blown professional video with serious post production. i am amazed.
+zero Thank you :)
Just when the wood working community on YT is getting a little repetitive you come along and make this brilliant vid. The clone idea for the over vid narration is genius. Well done Jay x
Well done in so many ways not to mention the accompanying sketchup tutorial. You keep raising the bar!
I'm really enjoying this series with a design video first and a build video soon after. That way it is clear what you are making and it's not just you dimensioning lumber over and over and us waiting to see what it'll turn into.
Your video editing skills are out of this world.
Your videos, along with Frank Howarths, are the most well edited. Love it.
Thanks, but frank is on another level. #respect
not only educational but entertaining. I look forward to your videos every week
Love the editing. You're doing an incredible job of setting yourself apart from the multitude of woodworking youtubers by producing pieces that people want to see, injecting humor into your work, and great editing. Keep it up.
Great narration by Jay Blue and work by Jay Red. It was funny when Jay Blue said he did all the hard work
I have to say that your video skills are improving vastly. I was truly entertained and educated. Great work!!
You're really upping the quality of your videos. Absolutely amazing.
awesome...I love the editing of the biscuit install...slow on one side and high speed on the other...awesome!!!
I love your projects and the editing just makes them even better! Love your alter ego
Don't think I have ever laughed out loud during a woodworking video. Straight outta the kitchen cracked me up. Great vid the clone stuff you are doing blows my mind every time
Jay,
I just gotta say, I love the cloning and editing you're doing. Your style just keeps improving!
I agree with a lot of the other comments about the dual personality trick being great. There are SO many woodworking channels and videos on UA-cam, and yours stands out because of your fun editing skills (and woodworking skills of course). Happy subscriber here.
A+ for originality Jay. Really nice job on shooting and editing.
Awesome video editing! Absolutely seamless and very well thought out, while actually building something useful and beautiful at the same time. Not everyone can do this, so congratulations!
Great project AND great video, sir! The in person narration while the work is happening is kind of a fun trick at first, but I found I actually quite like it! Makes the narration less sleepy and more personal. And I dig the project as well! Came out really nice!
Jay, your videos just get better and better every time! I'm always excited to see the next one. great looking project too! it matches the look of the entryway very well.
What an ellegant way of "covering up"' the sponsor-element in the video.
Great video like always, thanks!
Well done as always Jay.
Great project and great result.
I love that you're really finding your unique voice and style in the editing and shooting too. Class act, Jay.
Nicely done sir!
"Straight outta the kitchen"...funniest part of the video! Looks great, really like the design
Bravo! A new level of video editing cleverness.
I also really like one video of the planing in Sketchup and the next showing the actual manufacturing.
Great inspiration. Followed your sketch up video and changed the dimensions for my wall. BTW thanks for all the help with sketch-up. I started over twice after corrupting my project and wanted to start fresh to learn the steps better. Finally got what I wanted. I need to use a jigsaw for the arcs, but those are the only cuts left before assembly this after noon. I will be using pockets hole joinery and a polyurethane finish.
Red hat guy sure was productive. Good job on setting the duel personality in your video. Thanks
Your vids get better and better. I'm slowly learning to shoot shop vids as opposed to music vids. But I'll get there. Yours are always an inspiration and I definitely learn from them. Thanks!!
The editing is as good as the builds. Thanks for sharing.
Well done as always. Love, "That's all folks."
Great project, editing and format!!! Very useful instruction and entertaining to boot! Thanks Jay.
Jay, I love the projects and explanations, but I just love watching the videos for entertainment too! Very funny stuff.
Very nice Jay. I think you got the proportions just right. I enjoyed the Sketch-up tutorial as well.
Clean design, I like it!
nice work, and your work space is gold
Fantastic build! Easy and affordable!
Good to have a team player. I noticed the production went up with your management.
Nice project.
It's always nice to work beside yourself --- that way you can keep an eye on what you are doing -- I was more interested in the Production than in the Project ----- GREAT JOB :)
Absolutely a great video. The clone work was awesome. Very entertaining. Great looking coat rack as well.
This should certainly see a lot of use - I like the hooks they add a great touch to the piece.
Great work - love the bit where you pass the plank over to yourself. Keep up the good work!
Great video Jay! Simple, practical and beautiful!
your videos just keep getting better and better, nice project too...
Your videos are getting even better. Wow. When you handed the lumber to yourself I was impressed. Nice work sir. Great project. I was surprised you didn't use French cleats to mount it. That would eliminate the holes thru the work. Still love the project.
Great project. Love the alter ego in the shop !! Keep up the great work my friend.
Your videos are top notch. I just love watching them.
+Darrin Berndt Thank you :)
Your best editing yet. I loved the part where you feed work to yourself. Cool project too!
Very nice project. Love the editing, especially when you handed yourself the board. Seemless, it is really like there are 2 of you. You do a great job with that. You should try giving yourself a high 5. You have skills and could probably pull it off. Thanks for the great videos and take care.
Awesome Jay. You handing yourself a board was a flawless edit, really enjoyed it!
+Tyler G Thanks :)
awesome video as usual. I've recently become addicted to using a keyhole bit in my router. no screw holes on the front to hide.
I love this! Great design. You could make this out of maple or walnut and hit it with spray lacquer too if that fits your decor better.
I love your videos. Very entertaining and informative! Keep them coming!
Your video talents are amazing and the Coat rack really came out nice. Great job as always!
Awesome project and clever editing, Jay!
Great work. Video work and creativity is amazing.
iş yerin çok güzel temiz düzgün siz değerli ustalardan öğreniyoruz teşekkürler eline sağlık
Hahaha.. Dude, you're like the Penn and Teller of woodworking! I love it. Thanks for the work you put into the videos! Awesome!!!
NIce and simple style, looks good!
This was a fun one! You have evolved your alter ego style into something entirely new... Well done !
Jay, that video rocked. The editing was some of the coolest i've seen in this niche. I think you've hit a home run! Good job man!
I love your editing skills :) I also thank it is awesome to be able to say that you literally furnished your home "Yourself " Awsome work :)
Pretty soon we will be seeing an army of "Jay Bates" in the shop.... I love the editing. Great video and a very nice coat rack.
LOL.. great editing. loved it.
Perfect timing for this project Jay. I'm building a coat rack and was looking for a solution to hold up the modified "shelf" I'm using. The curved brackets you made just might work. Thanks for the inspiration as usual.
+Andrew Setters Very cool. Thanks for watching.
Very nice Jay. Awesome editing as usual. Thanks for the video
Each time your editing blows me away Jay, keep it up :D
It is such a pleasure to see you having fun! :-)
the projects you do are great but your editing is awesome !
excelente termino del video....saludos desde Chile
I absolutely love this build and was planning on building one in the future. So Ill definitely be adding this to my build list. And as usual your video editing is so freaking entertaining, outstanding job Jay! -Abel Nieto
I really enjoy your editing style, this really adds to the viewing experience, with the "fancy" voiceover. Keep up the good work :)
I'm loving the videos of the Jay twins. Awesome work and a very neat project.
I remember watching the movie Double Impact with Van Damme at the movies and thinking back then that the editing to make 2 of him was cool, now you're doing it on UA-cam and it's seamless.
Goes to show 2 things, technology has come a long way but also you're and awesome editor.
Jay,
Just wanted to say that you're awsome. Keep up the good work. Love the posts and videos.
Great coat rack Jay, and I`m loving the new style of filming.
Great project, great video as well.
I love how your having fun making your videos. the clone is one funny guy
Jay I have not finished the video yet but just wanted to comment that the interaction between you and "him" is getting better! Love the hand off at 1:25. I still put you up with Frank... and very much appreciate the work you put into not only your projects but especially the directing and editing. Fantastic work man! I will be making this coat rack out of QS Oak next week for my dad I will be sure and send you pics.
great project, awesome editing. I especially liked how you were handing over the boards at the table saw. no idea how that edit worked, but awesome!
Your editing skills are awesome
your videos and editing are top level. well done. keep up the good work

Very nice project and as usual awesome editing!
Great video and build Jay, your videos are getting better and better along with the projects as well. I really like that twin of yours interacting in the videos now, gives the project a bit of humour as well as a serious described project.Oh and love that ending as well. Take Care, Barry from England.
